Hmm sounds strange. Just to be clear, heres what to do: Uninstall lomac and flaming cliffs. Delete the game folder. Now reinstall: 1. Lomac (right click and select run as admin) 2. Flaming cliffs (right click and select run as admin) 3. Patch 1.12b (right click and select run as admin) 4. use the starforce update program (probably wont need to since u've already run it, but just in case) Now it should work. You might have to restart in betwen each install, you'll get a message of that. If you still have the grapics problem, its either something wrong with the install cd's (I've heard there were some cd's with corrupt files a long time ago, they were recalled and replaced with working ones) or its a problem outside lockon (graphix driver etc.) Oh, and can you post a screenshot of the problem you have?

I doubt its a starforce broblem, but here is hte link to download the starforce update program: http://www.star-force.com/support/drivers/ Select the dirvers before 5.5 (down o nthe page), it should be a small program that u only have to run. U will eventually get a message that the dirvers are updated. However, you need FLAMING CLIFFS to run lockon on vista. If you have vanilla lockon (Lockon Modern Air Combat without any addons), I dont think you will be able to run it on vista. Also the 1.12b patch only works with flaming cliffs. Flaming cliffs is an addon for lockon that improves many things in the game, aswell to add a new flyable aircraft. You can get Flaming Cliffs from the ED website. Good luck!:)

I have the 9800gtx myself and running on vista x64 with no probs. Had some crashes in the beginning, but thats ages ago now. Runs stable now it seemes;) Remember to install the correct patch, and if you're using multiple mods, that might cause some problems.

Great stuff! Thanks for teh info! I have one question about the damagemodel though, for the damaged part, it should use the original texture, so it shows the correct skin, but also it should have a damage texture on it, so that the part also looks damaged. How do you fix that? Is it done by placing planes with tga texture on top of the damaged part, or is there some secret formula I dont know of? -
Im sure you mean Flaming Cliffs;) I had the same problem as you, and I solved it by downloading a small updating program for starforce from their website. When u run the program, wait a few seconds and you will get a message that the drivers are installed;)

hello, I have the same problem as you guys, although I saw a post with a fix for it a while back, here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=33394&highlight=sound+fix Never really got around to test it myself, so I just run the game without sounds atm. Please report back if it works:)

I've bounced into this wheel problems a few times, but then in max. What I did to fix it was to make a helper object and linked the wheel to this object. THen I animated the helper object to do the animation, and that fixed it. Also remember to have one animation key for each 90*, so one for 0, one for 90*, one for 180, and 270 and finally 360. Otherwise the rotation wont show properly in lockon. Hope this helps:thumbup:

Do you use the proifiles for x-52? If not, you'll probably have to reassign the buttons in lockon. If you are using the profiles however I dont see any reason for it not to work:D

Not sure I get the "situation" here, but is this about being able to place the tga numbers to anywhere on the model? To my knowledge the main method of placing tga numbers to a model is to use a simple plane, and attatch the numbers on there. U can basically have as many planes as u want to place numbers on your model, and then just controll wich u want active with the .skins file. So to the question "is it possible to place tga numbers to anywhere on the model" the answer is yes. But this has to be done in 3dsmax first.

is it possible to arg animate textures?
OldCrow replied to borchi_2b's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
IF you want the nossles to change textures, im afraid thats the only way. Although, you can forexample just duplicate the inner polygons that will change thexture, so u dont have to get insane poly counts just for the burner effect. Then u can have the nossles to move smooth too instead of in stages. If the mapping is the problem (mapping 10 nossles) u can jsut finish the mapping before u duplicate, and have one texture file that controlls the nossle. That will save you hours of work:thumbup: -
F14D Ricks updates... Please stay on topic
OldCrow replied to MadMaxter's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
WOW! Thats one heck of a poly reducing job:D Although that cockpit would be awesome in lockon:thumbup: -
is it possible to arg animate textures?
OldCrow replied to borchi_2b's topic in 3D Modeling for DCS World
To my knowledge, it is not possible to animate materials for lockon. However (as we all know), you can animate objects, so a woekaround for the afterburner forexample is to make one object per stage and give them different materials wich contains different textures. And then u can animate the objects to make the afterburner effect. -
