I believe all tail numbers are controlled by the NOMERA.tga file. To get rid of them, paint the alpha in the tga file to black. Remember to backup!;)
-
Wow! That looks amazing! More pics plz!:D

From Vanilla lockon, there should only be a su33.cmd and a su33-COLLISION.lom in the bazar/world/shapes. If there are more lom files called su-33, you can try and remove them, but take a backup just in case. If you cant solve your problem then either, I could send you the original su-33.cmd if you want to, not sure if im allowed though:D

bazar/world/shapes/Su-33.lom remove this file from this folder (The .lom file, not the .cmd file). That should bring back the Su-33 model. For the weapons loadout, u need to get the original meinit file (if you already havent).

Chinese Flanker Pilots train on LOMAC
OldCrow replied to 5-wire's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
wow, In my oppinion (wich probably noone cares about, but anyways:D) I havent seen any insulting posts here, this is an international forum with people from all over the world, with oppinions about all kinds of stuff. If you want everyone to agree with you, and cant handle that someone challange your oppinions, then this probably isnt the place for you. Anywyas, on ot the topic, I think its awesome to see that real pilots use the same sim as I do, and that they use it in the millitary aswell must be evidence that this sim is pretty good:thumbup: -
What are some of your techniques to aid in non ILS landings?
OldCrow replied to fitness88's topic in Bugs and Problems
I would guess you mean in bad weather, as in clear blue skys its not really neccecery to have an ils approach IMHO, landings in low visibillity situations are always hard, espessially without ils, so I guess u'd have to either go to your alternate airport, or have a go at it, and go around at minimal if u dont ahve the runway in sight. If you mean to land the plane in clear blue skys without ils, I would suggest an approach airspeed of around 350-320km/h, deending on your weight, and toutchdown at 280-300km/h, also depending on your weight. If u keep within this speed and keep a reasonable heigt from the runway, u'll be fine. I always land with airbrakes out, and my throttle around 85-87% on approach, then reduce to idle right before toutchdown. Hope this helps! -
I see you are running a linear curve, I wouldnt recomend that, as its very very sensitive. I would set a curve of about 20-30%, then u'll have a easier time keeping the bird leveled.

Yea, I guess since you have LOD models, it doesnt really matter that much what poly number you have. And as S.T.A.L.K.E.R. said, tecnology must go forward, so to have more and more detailed models as time goes past is expected. Besides, the f-16 was made like 5 years ago (dont hold me to that, just guessing). So great work beczl, your models are very nice:thumbup:

Starforce Protection, any problems?
OldCrow replied to Victorious1's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Only problem I've had was when installing fc on vista. Due to the original drivers didn support vista I had to run a update program from the starforce website wich fixed it. Now it runs like a charm;) -
Have you tried to update the graphic driver?

Aircrafts pitch down, dive-bomb right away
OldCrow replied to Quirkitized's topic in Bugs and Problems
Could the autopilot get engaged by a mistake before you takeoff? (maybee through the profile) And do you use flaps on takeoff? (I havent watched your movie yet, sorry) -
That's awesome! Nice work!!:thumbup::thumbup:

I have never tried a cougar myself, but from what I've heard, its quite different from x-52. while some might say that the x-52 is too "loose", the cougar is said to be very stiff. I've also heard that the cougar is not a very good without an expensive upgrade, and then its said to become a really good stick. Since I've never tried the cougar, my recomendation is very subjective, but I would recomend the x-52. its a great stick, u dont tare your arm off when flying, good comfort, enough buttons, and probably one of the best throttles out there. its precice, it doesnt cost that much(not the standard version anyways), and u can programme it with the software that comes with the product. I've had a x-52 for about 3-4 years now, still using it, although, I can feel its starting to get alittle old, could also be because I've never cleaned it:P When I get a new stick I'll go for another x-52 or maybe the pro version;)

Wow! Nice model there Vekkinho!

How many polys is that model? I would guess the things to do on it to get it in lockon would be some poly reducing or add poly to it to increase the detail (depends on how many poly the model is), unwrapping, animations and damage model. From the picture I would say the fuselage is good enough detail, maybee add some in the cockpit and undercarriage, although its hard to tell from that picture.

WOW!:shocking: I use Saitek X-52 myself, had it for about 3-4 years, still works, but getting alittle sloppy around center, but nothing serious. My experiance with Saitek is that they are very good, both precice, good handgrip, and enough buttons. And the Throttle is just perfect:thumbup: Only bad thing I have to say about it is that its not stiff enough, could be fixed by replacing the spring, oh and the stickyness problem. You might have to like lubricate the plate thats under the spring to get 100% smooth movement. Otherwise it will stick alittle due to friction, not that relevant if u're flying combat, but very relevant when flying close formation.

Beautifull model you made there! +1

Ahh copy, then I think the tools for lockon will do the job:thumbup: Also you can send preview pics of your model on this forum, and if its good enough, the makers of BS might include it in the game Just a note on the 3d tools for lockon, they only work fully with 3dsmax 7, and partially in 8, but you can still make a model in a newer version of 3dsmax, and then put it back in max 7 for animations and export;)
-
Hello stagga, I dont know how it is in BS, but I dont think its too different from Lock On. What you need to build models for lockon atleast is the 3d tools wich allows u to extract your model to the .lom format wich is the model format used by Lockon and Black Shark. You can pretty much complete the whole model work and skin work in 3dsmax without the 3d tools. Then when you want to prepare it for lockon, you want to make sure to animate in arguments (comes with the tools) and assign the different material properties (like canopy glass). The 3d tools for Black Shark havent been released yet (correct me if im wrong), so right now I dont think its possible to make a fully working model for Black Shark. Although I think making models for lockon would not be very different from making models for Black Shark, infact I think you will get much more possibillities with future 3d tools for Black Shark, although I can only reffer to posts made on this forum.
