  1. As Sobek says, the ED testers who have a Warthog are under NDA. However, I believe it is public knowledge that Warthog is made to work with DCS: A-10C straight out of the box. Oh, and I have the Warthog throttle 'friction' slider mapped to the Zoom View function - works perfectly.
  2. Scabbers The caution panel is NVG compatible, so all the captions are now a greeny blue and there is no provision for colours to denote caution/warning severity.
  3. Sorry, Viper, I know it looks like I am following you around on the boards today, but I promise it's not deliberate!
  4. You should try using AoA to land (reference the indexer on the left of the HUD). With the blue/ green AoA indexer doughnut lit, I am usually showing about 119 KIAS over the threshold when clean (no external stores) and c.2,000 lbs of gas remaining. The manual recommends 135 KIAS over the threshold, but I don't believe it indicates AUW for that airspeed, and that seems a bit fast to me. Whatever, 170 KIAS is way too fast!
  5. Actually, the easiest way is to boresight the gun pipper with the TGP LOS (i.e. depress the pipper so that it coincides with where the TGP diamond would appear if it were used), then align the target with the pipper and TMS FORWARD SHORT to lock - you won't even have to take your eyes off the target.
  6. No, it's TMS RIGHT LONG to make the MARK the SPI. TMS FORWARD LONG makes the current SOI the SPI (which won't work since the MARK point is not a sensor).
  7. If you want a unique, user-assigned identifier, it might be easier to make a new *waypoint* and then rename it using the CDU WPT page.
  8. Yes, just TMS RIGHT LONG once you have created the mark, or are in MARK mode on the CDU. It will make the MARK point the SPI.
  9. The loss of L-HYD pressure is a realistic feature, not a bug.
  10. There is provision to have separate key strokes associated with gear up and gear down.
  11. There are actually very few.
  12. It's a recommended spec, nothing more. There are plenty of testers whose machines are nothing like as exotic as that and who have no problems running Warthog with very acceptable frame rates / graphic settings.
  13. Recover the costs of scanning a -1CL? How much cost is involved?
  14. A good idea. IRL, run-up and brake release are signalled by exaggerated head nods, and at night they are signalled by the switching of certain lights/light settings (switching nav lights from flash to steady, for example). In DCS Warthog, you could use the light technique quite happily by day or night.
  15. Totally disagree. The HOTAS set-up in the A-10C is a 21st century system that is actually pretty complicated. You might not spend much time using HOTAS in air-to-air mode, but it is, IMHO, essential for killing anything on the ground while handling threats, wingmen and navigation.
  16. Scabbers The radios, as almost everything, are a WIP.
  17. With the exception of the GBU-32 for the F-22, the US Air Force does not use the Mk.83 LDGP series.
  18. Because when a real life A-10C maintainer said, 'You stick to flying them, I'll stick to fixing them', he made no effort to clarify that he is not actually a Hog Driver. You can chose whatever handle you want to use, but when it is misleading and you make no effort to clarify the situation, it doesn't look very good. I have seen many misrepresentations on the internet over the years, so perhaps that is why I take a no-nonsense approach to this kind of thing.
  19. I am not a mod. I just don't like deception, 'Hog Driver'. Good bye. Oh, before you go, a quick explanation of the rebuke comment may clear things up for you... Implied meaning: ED have dropped the ball = informal rebuke.
  20. It disqualifies you from leading people to think that you fly them for a living, which is exactly what people here had concluded. An early correction from you would have been appreciated. Ref VID, there are other external differences between A-10C and A-10A+, but since you're berating ED for getting the antenna wrong, I'll let you work out what those differences are for yourself.
  21. About the only way to VID the A-10C? And you fly these for a living?
  22. No, what would look stupid would be raising/lowering the gear with a switch marked EAC, Flaps, Motor, RALT etc. Then you'd have idiots saying, 'LOL, OMFG, FAIL 5:50. He raised the gear with the flap switch. Ha Ha Ha. Duh'.
  23. BBQ The HEART sensors in the Warthog are fantastic, but I think that the thing you will really miss out on is the gaming experience with DCS:A-10C. You will certainly be able to fly it with the Cougar set-up, but you will really have to juggle the HOTAS programming for the throttle in order to get the full functionality of the A-10C HOTAS capability. You will also miss out on the ability to silence the U/C horn (sounds regularly in the A-10), start-up, airstart, change LAAP mode, engage A/P, arm the EAC and RALT, and manipulate the flaps, without having to look away from the monitor. Believe me when I say that once you've tried it, you'll never go back. All this, of course, requires no programming, and doesn't take away from any of your HOTAS switches on the throttle or the stick. I think that this will also be the longest wearing HOTAS available - I have been testing a pre-production model for about 3 months and every time I use it I smile because it feels like it is brand new. I have never had a HOTAS (and I have had them all) that still feels this way after about 150 hours' of pretty robust testing. Additionally, the buttons a solid to the touch and meaty to the press, and also feel like they really are made to last. Those are just my personal views, but given that I paid about £300 for a piece-of-rubbish G940 that was practically useless within 6 months, I'd certainly pay €400 for the Warthog.
  24. Jim It shouldn't be twice the cost. Who is printing it for you? PM me if you want to talk - I might be able to help you out.
  25. I would hazard a guess that it was something to do with the recording - in the sim, the sounds are absolutely incredible and clearly not copied over from BS.
