  1. So, i'v been looking a little at fuel and have some questions. I advise that I have RTFM and searched for this in the forums... I have now got the hang of aerial refueling, but: 1a. So I fill her up:music_whistling: until I get "transfer complete, diconnect" from tanker, but, behold, there's still room for more! After som heads down, i find that only my fueslage tanks have been filled and wings are nearly empty? So I try to fiddle with it, ie; crossfeed on/off, but no luck. So i go RTFM and find that tank gate is supposed to be in the closed position. I suspect this was my fault, but I am sure I tried this aswell, I must try this again tomorrow (only one mission a day so it wont interfere with my studies:smartass:). So, what is tank gate? and what does it do? 1b. Does anybody know if there could be any other reason as to why only my onboard tanks get filled? 2a. Crossfeed; does this enable som kind of vaulve between the tanks or does it simply enable both engines to feed from any tank like in the shark? 2b. On the main DCS website under series \rightarrow KA-50, there was a chart showing the fuel system of the shark. I found no similar chart for the A-10. Does anybody have such a chart? or link to such? 3. I might be a little childish whining about the logbook, but i kinda apeels to me:P, but i'v noticed no aerial fuelings logged, even though I have had the "transfer complete, disconnect" message wich I assumed counted for the "counting logick" of the logbook, or is it that I must indeed fill her all the way up? 4. Am I correct in assuming that you cant refill external tanks? I will probably test this later on though... Note: I'm running the original release version still, as I have no chrashes and early report sugessts the patch fixes the crashes for those who had it and induces it for those who didn't... Is there any changes to the tanking process exept the boom now has mass and is considerably more dangerous? Any reply is welcome:)
  2. ^^interesting, wich would by logic mean that available services depends on the airdrome... I like!:)
  3. Do we need to set any particular vehicles at the airfields to get certain services, as in BS? or was that only with the FARP's?
  4. Congrats:) A lot of good additional information on TACAN operations in this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=68331
  5. If it could help, i can list the steps I take to sucsessfully get tanker bearing. If you do the same, and still have problems, it might be a bug? 1. In the mission editor, in advanced mode in the first waypoint of the tanker, i put "set command" and "activate TACAN Beacon" and choose a freequency. Be sure no other transmitter in the world uses that frequency. I know 33x is available... 2. In the TACAN panel in-game, set the frequency 33x, and set transmitter mode in A A TR. Listen for audio code to confirm you are recieving a signal. (I am unsure about the range of such transmitters, allthough I have not yet been outside such a envelope). 3. On the navigation mode select panel, on the 2. row, switch from Steer pt to TACAN. 4. On the HSI, I now have the following information: -Range information in upper left corner -Bearing needle nr. 1 pointing in the direction of the tanker -Bearing needle nr. 2 pointing to my waypoint as selected in the CDU -course needle and readout have no implications. You probably know all this, but if all this is correct, then I cant see why it aint working.... On a additional note, you said you had the frequency 1x, are you sure this does not answer as 10x? In your last post, you aint getting range infromation, wich would suggest you are not recieving a signal or is intercepting a ground signal in aa mode...??? I'm no expert, but thats my suggestion...
  6. About the TACAN, ^^what Tharos said + why A/A REC?, try A/A T R and see if you'll get range information.... If not, i figured your picking up something else... Had a recent complication with this myself:D... (I LOVE this sim)
  7. I remember reading an advice from someone involved with ED when FC was released that axis should be linear for most realistic handling. Is this still true for DCSW? I'm considering tweaking myself as my x52 is getting a little old, and has become a bit unweildy... (It kinda wants to stay in it current position and jerks a little when moved, almost as it gets "stuck")
  8. Are you sure you are considering the priority of speed vs. ETA logic? There are several know bugs, if the releases had to be absolutley perfect in every aspect and to everyones particular needs, we would get one module every 50 years or so... And as stated, patches are coming!
  9. The tower gives bearing and range to the "approach fix" wich is a fixed point a couple of miles out from the runway, when you reach this point (Its not a random point but the very same point youll get every time), tower will give you cleared for visual and you should now turn final... The check landing gear is sort of a final confirmation and I consider it as a kind of "point of missed apprach". So if I hear that message and I havent yet visually aquiered the runway or are very off my glidepath, i abort... I think you have actually understood correctly, its all kinda intuitive, but nontheless I higly recommend going through the landing training mission... Edit: sniped!
  10. I tried this yesterday, and you actually DO get range on the HSI... I suprised me also, but i guess it somehow measures the strength on the signal or something, allthough no very accurate I guess, it was showing 2 nm when I was in close formation with the tanker:)... As for the OP, you are correct, the "nr. 1" needle shows the direct magnetic heading for the tanker, just follow that heading at approx the same altidude and you should find it:) No HUD indication though... EDIT: Additional tip: fly 1000-2000 ft lower than the tanker as it is easier to spot against the sky than the ground...
  11. ^^Yes, I also think that is a very good approach. And may I suggest making a patch-stickey including chronological list of released patches togheter with changelogs, and a full collection of instructions regarding them, since there undoubtfully will be more of them now (the patches that is), and this might get confusing for someone who is not regulary on this forum....
  12. Nice work! Allthough I have a follow up question: I read the emergency procuders, and in the warning lights section it comments in "gun unsafe"; DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIRE GUN... Really, that can't be stated without explaining what might happen. If I ever where to get that warning, i would fire the gun without hesitation to see what happens... Human nature... Sooooo, what happens?:joystick:
  13. how did it go?
  14. 1. Are you pre or post patch? I think it makes a diffrence! Do a search in the bugs-section, you will find some information on the subject there:)
  15. Recreate you pilot in the game-menu, then exit and go to KA-50>blackshark>data>scripts>logbook and open players.lua with notepad++ or similar. Edit the values as needed, save and despair no more! For campaign progress, go to KA-50>Missions>Campaigns and open the relevant campaign file with the .cmp and edit the appropiate values. (I think)...
  16. Go to F2 or wathever and LCtr+F11. You now got a free camera controlled by your mouse and the mousewheel (speed), unrelated to your chopper. Or perhaps you knew this and want a "free" cam wich is relativ to your aircraft? In wich case I would like to know as well...
  17. If you use a basic free audio editing software, you can amplify the files in the mayak folder. (With amplifiy i mean the function, in your case, you would use it to deamplify...) A bit of hassle, but its my best suggestion if there indeed is no volume control....
  18. Can you clarify the issue? I can't make out what the "corruption" is... If that is corrupted, than so is my own BS...
  19. I Just made a Facebook campaign... I recon it should be able to gather at least 50 votes... Maybe more people with more Facebook friends than I, could to something similar???
  20. Actually I feel that overcast effects FPS much less then it did in FC... As above so below.... (Can't believe I finally got to say that frase!!...)
  21. Jeff Beck - Led boots, and the like...! Also, Prodigy - The trick, really gives that hard, russian, industrial and unstoppable feel...:)
  22. sorry, did'nt quite mean it like that, but I take the point...
  23. I have noticed this as well... Will replacing this file, reset the counters in the logbook?
  24. Perhaps when it is no longer possible to have compability, and LO is finally left behind by ED, maybe they will release the sourcecode? That would definatley prolong the potential lifespan of LO series, driven on by a dedicated community... I remember this was discussed several times before, allthough I can't remember the conclusion. Unless they are tied by the fact that original LO is owned by UBI... but sure, the future... I'll be there...
  25. ^^Lol, yes, my main computer is dead (Rip), so I'm back to XP and norton, hopefully only temporarely...
