Personally, this whole IC thing is getting annoying and it's made me take a break from DCS, hope it gets fixed soon or removed altogether :/

I like to balance out the TGP with an ECM pod, and the AIM-9s w/ a rocket pod like Kippy has done up above. Try to find out which weapons have similar weights and place those on opposite pylons. For example, when experimenting I found out that the AIM-9s and TGP are not similar in weight but the TGP and ECM pod are, so I always keep those two on opposite ends of the aircraft

This sucks, I can't use the F-15 HD Cockpit mod or the realistic HUD mod, which simply changes the font of the HUD

I think the new update has screwed some stuff up for me...it seems that the farther i zoom out, the grainier the text on the HUD and VSD look. Anyone else having this issue of things looking grainy? Edit: nevermind looks like my video settings reset to default for some reason and my in cockpit resolution was decreased to 256

I don't know if something has come up in the new update, but when flying the F-15, I very often find my screen going white as if the sun is shining on it or something. Is this happening to anyone else?

I have a question about buddy lasing and the LSS/LST mode of the TGP: 1. If someone is lasing a tank for me w/ their TGP, we both have the same lase code, and I want to drop a GBU-12, do I have to come in from the same direction as the aircraft that is buddy lasing? Or can I come in from any direction? 2. If someone is buddy lazing, can I use the LSS/LST mode on my TGP to find the target?

Read it at your own pace there's no rush. I recommend learning weapon employment first, then other things like ILS, inputting Waypoints into the CDU, start up etc

TMS Up is used to lock the maverick on to the target. You also need to make sure that you have the Maverick selected on the DSMS and that you are in range. What range are you at when trying to lock the target and being unsuccessful?

Ah I see. So what exactly is NWS then? (Also, I believe that the S key is labeled as NWS under the controls but I may be wrong.)

Then why can I turn more while taxiing if I hold S? What does holding S do?

Don't you need to hold S to engage nose wheel steering?

Why is it that we have to hold down the NWS steering button in the F-15? Is there a reason for this? If not, would it be possible for the NWS button to be a toggle like in the A-10 or Su-27?

I know that cbu-87s and 103s are meant for soft targets while cbu-97 s and 105s are meant for armored targets. But can CBU 97s and 105s also be effective against soft targets?

I don't have Track IR, so I often hold down Num0 and Num4 to get a close up on the left MFCD and Num0 with Num6 to get a close up on the right MFCD. For some reason tho, this has stopped working for me and instead of giving me a close up of the MFCDs, it get some other weird view of the cockpit. Any ideas as to what has gone wrong, as its getting rly painful to manually zoom into the MFCDs

So what's the official status on the F-16? Is it in progress or has there been no word on it?

So I wanted to try out dropping some bombs in salvos, and I loaded up a total of 18 Mk-82s on TERs on pylons 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and 9. Then I went into the DSMS, pulled up the Mk-82 profile, and set it to RIP PRS with a RIP QTY of 6. Basically I wanted to unload 2 pylons of bombs (total of 6 bombs) every time I pressed weapons release. What I noticed next was that when I dropped bombs from pylons 3 and 9, or from pylons 4 and 8, the bombs dropped in quick succession. However, when dropping from pylons 5 and 7, the bombs dropped one at a time instead of all at once. Any reason why this happens with pylons 5 and 7?

When I'm flying, I like to stay low so that if I get fired upon I can notch or maybe duck behind a mountain. But how does one defeat a missile if they are at a high altitude and are fired at from below?

Never mind. Didn't see that there were a couple of ZU-23s down in the town as well, total noob mistake, my bad :doh:

So, I was just doing the Overwatch mission for the A10C, and I flew over a town that had 4 Russians w/ AKs in it. As I flew over they opened fire, setting one of my engines on fire and completely disabling my HUD! Personally I think this is a bit ridiculous as the A10 is built to take worse than some small arms fire. Are these AKs too OP?
