  1. So, what's the current status of the Ka-50? (the real one, not the sim) :) Does the Russian Military have any plans to request more airframes, or are the few examples flying going to be it? Just curious...been flying the hell out of it in Black Shark and was wondering what the Real-World examples are doing nowadays.
  2. Yeah, read my previous post ;) I couldn't figure out how to get it into BS, so I basically just modified the BS files the way TekaTeka did.
  3. Well I figured out why I no longer had the problem in LOMAC. I had installed TekaTeka's no cloud shadow mod. Since I don't know how to install that into BS, I looked at his files. It seems as if the mod just removed the alpha channel from one TGA file. So I used ModMan on BS to extract the DDS and erased the alpha channel. Worked like a charm!
  4. Got bumped over to the LOMAC section. It says LOMAC in the title, but it WAS about Black Shark... :) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=34791
  5. Hmmm, I know it says LOMAC in the title, but why did this get bumped to the LOMAC section? Anyway, it does look like you've got the same issue. I'll try changing the options.lua file and see what happens. The thing is, I checked and I DO have advanced haze ON in LOMAC with no problems.
  6. Here's some screenies...I hope they are clear enough: If you notice the closest mountainous areas, those darker areas constantly "dance" back and forth with any head movement.
  7. I hate to "bump" something, but I still can't find a solution. I can't be the only one having this problem.
  8. Okay, just making sure I wasn't missing a step somewhere. Thanks for the tip!
  9. When I use the Helmet Mounted sights, I have a problem when I zoom in with TrackIR. The sights are actually above the center of the screen...so when I zoom in, they move out of my FOV. Is that normal? I have to keep looking a bit down from the target to line up the sights correctly. Or is there a command somewhere that I missed and I'm showing my impatience by not reading the manual all the way through? :)
  10. Hmmmm...was it a setting you changed with ModMan or LOCFG maybe?
  11. No kidding. I can't wait for the AH-64...I wanna see how ED handles torque!
  12. Oops...no haze option in BS. And I thought I found another fix...I'll have to check Lock On to see if Advanced Haze is on or not.
  13. Flying this puppy is a breeze for me! On my first flight I was able to stable hover, land, side-slip, slalom between buildings...everything. DAMN this whirly-bird can maneuver! And before you ask, YES I'm on realistic settings!:P Okay, I admit, I DO have around 10 hours RL time in Schweizers...and I primarily fly helos in FSX. But to all of you guys that aren't into Helicopters, you REALLY want to give this a try. The FM in Black Shark is VERY VERY VERY impressive. I don't think I've ever gotten such a good representation of rotary-winged flight out of a sim. It just "feels" so right. And don't give up learning how to fly this beast. It's no Su-25, that's for sure. It's an entirely different kind of flying, altogether... ;)
  14. No, not the "Full Shadows" bug. I get the vertical, "dancing" lines on the distant landscape in Cockpit view. IIRC it's related to the Cloud shadows. I've tried all the different shadow settings...no go. I used to get this in LOMAC, but I can't remember how I fixed it. Anyone remember what the fix was? Sys specs: Core2Duo q6600@2.66 Nvidia 8800GTX 180.48 drivers XP SP2
  15. Harrier...haven't had a dedicated Harrier sim in ages.
  16. Yes, it does. Just choose the little tank icon on the left instead of the plane icon. It doesn't generate missions against buildings, though...just vehicles.
  17. Does he say anywhere what mods he's running? Besides the A-10 of course! :) The terrain does look different.
  18. I didn't have time to upload it at home, but re-checked everything. I've got them set to On-Road...attacking Sochi-Adler from The road that runs close to the coast from Georgia. It's probably something really stupid I'm overlooking. Also, I don't really make missions (besides little quick dogfights), so my experience in nil. The convoy consists of (IIRC) an M2 in front, then an Avenger, some Abrams tanks, then a few M818s, then a Vulcan and another Avenger. Around 15 total. Not a realistic composition, I know, just a quick, varied selection. Instead of messing with it too much last night, I started the Su-25T Flaming Cliffs campaign instead...figured I'd see how a REAL mission's supposed to work. ;) Oh, and thanks for all the help, gents...this n00b appreciates it!
  19. I'll try and upload it when I get home. Nobody laugh, I'm not a mission designer. ;) I've also set them to "Off Road" and the same thing happens, they get so far and stop. I'm about to just forget it...it was just to supposed to be a fun little quick mission. But you know how it is..."I'll try one more thing and then I'll go to bed"...:)
  20. Yeah, I checked that first...they were on the road, but then I moved them a little ways off. Still no go. Does the AI have a "retreat" setting? ;) The only thing I can think of is that they're getting their butts kicked and won't advance anymore.
  21. I'm creating a simple mission that has an enemy tank platoon rolling in and attacking an airbase. Your job is to scramble from the base and stop them. I put a few friendly tanks in their way just to have some help. Now, I've set their waypoints to "on road" but after they engage the friendly tanks they stop. Is this due to losing to many units to the friendly tanks? I've also tried "off road" and the other formations, but they always stop. There's no sense of urgency if the enemy platoon is just sitting there. :) Before I had the friendly tanks, they came right on through to the airbase, destroying a whole bunch of civilian buildings in the process...looked WAY cool...fires everywhere, smoke billowing out... BUT, I'd like some friendlies in the area to give a more "busy" feel. Any thoughts?
  22. Ah, gotta love the "Flying Cocktail Lounge" :)
  23. Damn...wish I'd heard of them sooner...just spent lotsa bucks for an Iwata. Excellent job on the painting, and I feel your pain with the Testor's paints. :)
  24. I had the same problem with my 1/72 Flanker. Ended up just mixing my own colors till it looked "right" to me. Gonna go over with a white wash to weather it up some. Next up: Zvezda'a 1/72 Su-39 as an Su-25T! BTW, what kind of Airbrush are you using?
  25. Yeah, I do so wish for an AFM for the Su-27... :( And I remember the first time I flew the Su-25T. I was taxiing toward the runway, and I swerved a bit off the taxiway into the grass. All of a sudden my plane was leaning to one side. I looked in the external view, and saw a shredded main gear. I was shocked and amazed. I had never seen that level of detail in a sim before...or since!
