Here's a couple more I have been working on
-
I am not aware of the mod you are talking about i'm afraid. I put the spacer on top to show the changes it really looks like this.
-
Thanks for the input I have re-designed the spacer to allow more light through. I have put the spacer above the top panel just to demonstrate.
-
Apologies I was talking just generally.

I already have and use MS33558, heres the issue it dosnt look right on some aircraft panels, the other point is that, do sim-pilots want what is accurate to the aircraft, or accurate to the sim. They are not always the same. We are an extremely faistidious bunch of people, I know I am when it comes to my cockpit. I want everything to be as accurate as possible to the aircraft. The use of MS33558 is ok but not the answer to all cockpits. I think that most will be extremely close looking to each other irrelevant of provider, the difference will only be subtle, thats why we buy them to look like the real thing as much as possible. I believe we would soon find out if we were wrong in the detail LOL. We can only do the best we can do and post pics of the panels and let people make their own choice.

Valid point. Fonts on panels are always an issue, what font looks best is always a judgement call. I can obviously change the font to what is desired. I think different materials also could be an issue, but unless your willing to buy from one place, what can be done? If there is a possibility of all the providers talking and setting a standard font etc. Then i'm up for it. That said I will try to help pitbuilders get exactly what they want but I can't always ablige. Although I can make custom panels I will make a some in one go to keep the cost down. ie. 8 fuel top panels from one sheet and one session. Regards Glider

Just to give you an idea of construction.
-
Yes of course, all you need is to give me a basic drawing\idea and I will do rest. There will be different choices for people, from top panel only to entire unit with its own box and any combination in between. The only items I will not be doing initially will be electronics and switches. Lets see how it goes and then I can move into a more complete standalone units including switches etc. I currently use Leo Bodnar boards myself. Regards Glider

Great panels metalnwood.

I will make certain panels per order, some I will make in batches things like A10C CDU panel. I have had few people in the US that are interested, they are mainly civil aircraft. If the drawings are available I can pretty much do any panel upto the size of 680mmX400mm. I have a request for a 747 overhead panel that will take two pieces to make the one panel. So skys the limit (excuse the pun). Thanks for the interest up to now, keep them coming regards Glider

Hi All, I am currently looking at making panels for numerous cockpits, I am really just checking if its a service that people would use. I am not holding anybody to it. Just checking if the interest is there. A prototype was done a while ago which has been made better. I am currently in the middle of purchasing a laser cutter/engraver (so I am not using the one at work) if there is the interest. Link to old prototype http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=63508 Just for example the A10 fuel Panel, painted cut and engraved would be around a tenner. Just post your interest please. I will upload videos and photos of finished panels once production starts. Regards Glider

What panels do you require. I have a just had inastalled a laser cutter and engraver I can cut them for you. I have not been around for a while but now I have the equipment myself I am looking into providing a this type of work. PM me if you want me too. See thread for image of a first prototype http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=63508 Glider

Firstly let me add my thanks for all you information, its excellent. I wonder if you could answer a question for me, I have purchase some green 8mm Led's for back lighting they are 25mA 2.5V. what type/size of resistor do you recommend. Thanks Glider Green25mA2.5V2.5V5V70 -
If all goes well I am toying with the idea of sending out some samples then doing panels for a nominal fee for people who cannot afford or gain access to machines for themselves. I dont know as of yet, I could be opening up a can of worms for myself. Once the drawing are completed for a panel I can cut 10 panels per sheet obviously depending on size quite quickly. Glider

I will up load a video as soon as I cut the next version of the Panel. I am testing a different setup, I am painting the face and then engraving through the paint, I have tested the engraving so it only engraved 2 microns deeper than the paint. It seems to work without leaving any decearnable feel to the engraving . I will re-cut the full panel once testing for fumes from the paint is completed and I will video that. @Alex I am really getting into making these panels, I have had one chap from Mycockpits ask me to help with an 737 console panel, So after christmas I will take a look at that aswell. The cutter is a LaserPro Mercury II, the good thing about engraving using a laser is that it leaves it perfectly white So no white painting should be required. As for Black I have a number of options one being painting the inside black and then reverse engrave/cut or as in the image make the spacer plate out of solid black. Mark

The Font is just Arial Bold but i did have to play around with letter spacing and height I will post the exact size I used for you tomorrow when I can check the software.
