Finished new build wiped C: Drive deactivated all my DCS addons deleted DCS folders. Did a clean install of windows 10 and all up to date drivers, downloaded DCS 2.5 and all my addons. Here’s what I got running DCS 2.5 at 2560 X 1440 over 150 FPS and no freezing nice and smooth CPU temp varies between low 60’s C and low 70’s C. Running 3 monitors at 7680 X 1440 60+ FPS that’s over 20 FPS pickup over previous system. Now the bad part DCS freezes within 5 to 10 minutes with sound and TrackIr 5 still working Ctrl – Alt Delete to get out. What I did notice prior to freezing my CPU temp were between 60C and 70C when DCS froze up CPU temp spiked up to 80 C I don’t know if that’s any help to DCS. Running 3 monitors is sooo much nicer than a single monitor, I sure hope the get it figured out soon. New system Intel 8700K @ 5ghz, ASUS Maximus Hero Z370, 3200mz Memory, EVGA GTX 1080 Ti Fwt3. Old system Intel 4670 @ 4.6ghz, ASUS Z87 Plus 1866mz Memory, EVGA GTX 1080 Ti Fwt3.

I'm thinking a complete new install. All my parts should be here for my new build by Friday. I'll delete all DCS wipe C: drive install fresh Windows 10, new system new install. I want to thank you for all your help.

Got the logs #1 autoupdate_log.txt #2 The active one C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS\Logs autoupdate_log.zip dcs.zip

DCS is loading and I can fly missions but it can freeze at any time. Another thing I’ve noticed that C: drive Program Files\Eagle Dynamics has nothing in it. Is there away to do an complete reinstall and save my aircraft and Navada or will need to download them to?

I did another Update and Repair from the CMD. It seems the DCS is not creating the log files or the autoupdate_log.txt in C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS\logs or in C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\logs. Any Ideas?

In C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS\logs the last one is 12/2/18 there is nothing from yesterday or today any place to look

Before I deleted the saved games DCS folder I did an update and repair form the CMD. When I updated to 2.5 I did 1.58 first. As fo now 2.5 is still freezing. I5 4670K @ 46ghz, Noctua NH-U14S Cooling, EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FTW3, 16gb 1866 DDR3, 256gb Samsung Pro SSD, 512gb Adata SSD Game drive, 1tb WD Black, Corsair 650 Watt, Thermaltake case, TM Warthog, X52 Pro, Saitek Pro Flight Yoke, MFG Crosswinds Rudder, 3 ASUS PB277Q Monitors, TrackIR 5 Parts on order Intel 8700K, ASUS Maximus Hero Z370, 32gb DDR4 3200 Ram I have DCS on G: Drive which is an 512gb Adata SSD, C: Drive is an 256gb Samsung 840 SSD Maybe after I get the 8700K system up and running next Monday I should do a complete reinstall of DCS being I need to reinstall windows 10.

I followed General troubleshooting advice to try and stop the freezing but my Saved Games is located inC:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS not in C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta. I renamed DCS.openbeta restarted DCS 2.5 and it did not recreate a new folder when renamed C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS A new folder was created. Can the cause a problem or freezing? I’m still trying to fix the freezing problem and the above did not help. I sure hope DCS is working on the Freezing issue.:(

I don't think it's your IP I use a VPN and log in from different IP addresses all the time. It seems a lot of people are having problems with crashes and freezing with 2.5 and I'm one of them.

I played around with my settings last night changing my 7680 X 1440 to some different settings. I can run @ 6680 X 1420 fairly steady some slight shaking but flew for over 35 minutes with no freeze. I need to set to 1420 over 1440 so I can drag the screen to center. This has to be with the way they are handling Hi Def Screens in 2.5. I have no problem in 1.58. I really like the 3 monitors over a single so I'll keep it at 6680 X 1420 until they fix it.

OK Just set it to one monitor @ 2560 X 1440 seems to be working much better. I have no problem flying X plane 11 and and 1.58 with all 3 monitors. With 2.2 I had a freeze or crash once in the while but could finish most campaign flights. I don't know whats up with 2.5 but I sure hope they fix it soon.

Well just completed the latest update and things are worse now. Prior to this update I could run between 5 and 15 minutes before freezing with just sound after update 1 to 5 minutes same settings. Running 3 monitors 7680 X 1440

Well I’m totally frustrated I’ve tried every suggestion here even FOV to 120. DCS 2.5 will run totally fine nice and smooth then it just freezes sound is still going. Must Ctrl, Alt, Delete to task monitor to exit. The sim may run for 20 minutes or 5 minutes. I can fly X Plane 11 or DCS 1.58 all day with no problem what’s up DCS. I have the F18 Hornet on pre-order wish I could Cancel because this sim is unplayable, I feel I spent way too much money on DCS. Same here seems 2.5 does not like campaign 'A-10C Sturmovik. My TrackIr 5 does not perform well with this mission. Sim freezes about 10 miles off coast.

Ok got my EVGA GTX 1080 Ti FWT3 nice jump in performance. Over Vegas low altitude getting 50+ FPS with Deferred Shading ON, MSAA set to 2 and most setting set to high. Also running 3 Asus PB277Q 27 Inch 2560 X 1440 Monitors = 7680 X 1440. Picked up 10 to 15 FPS. With X Plane 11 objects Settings set one to the left of Max @ 7680 X 1440 out of KROA 23 to 30 FPS. With one monitor and Objects at Max and 1 2560 X 1440 Monitor getting 55 to 60 FPS. About 10 FPS increase. What I have noticed is pixel fill seems better and everything seems smoother. PS Running Intel 4670K @ 4.6ghz and 16gb 1866 DDR3 Ram.

Finally found an Evga GTX 1080 Ti FTW3 at a fair price it should be here this week will post how it works out.

I purchased the 1070 around 6 to 7 months ago maybe I'll try to sell it and look at the 1080Ti. The last thing I added was 2 more ASUS PB277Q 2560 X 1440 monitors for a total of 3. I'm getting in the low 40's FPS over Vegas at low altitudes with the up grade I was hoping for around 60 FPS. I guess its back to the drawing board Thanks for the help.

Thinking of upgrading my system I mostly Fly XP11 and DCS. Currently have. CPU Intel I5 4670 running at 4.6ghz on all cores Motherboard ASUS Z87 Plus Memory 16gb G.SKill 1866 CPU EVGA 1070 FTW (Will clock to 2012mhz) Power Supply 650 Watt Corsair Monitor ASUS PB277Q 2560 X 1440 Thinking of upgrading to. CPU Intel 8700K and over clock to 5ghz - 5.2ghz Memory G.Skill TridentZ 3200 16T or 3600 17T (not sure on memory can anybody advise). Motherboard ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero Z370 Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks, I've been getting the "Two Away". I think I will try to find that file and maybe come back to this one later. I would be nice if once you completed a mission in a you could redo it when ever you wanted.

I cannot get to mission #6 I set the Flares to 6000ft find all the targets and release the flares from 8000ft when I land I get Unsatisfactory and to re-fly the mission. If I try to fly at 6000ft I lose the CCRP sighs so no can do. I've flown this mission at lease 20 times but in the saved games/ DCS/ Mission Editor/ Logbook it only shows 5 missions flown. Is there anyway around this mission I'm flying it in my sleep.

Advanced Training mission # 5, Illumination Flare Employment. I've have done this mission 10 plus times the mission goes very well but every time I land and shut down the instructor gives me an unqualified rating. I cannot advance to mission #6. Is this the bug they talk about on YouTube? If so how can I get too mission #6?

I had some issues with my warthog when using USB 2.0 switched both plugs to USB 3.0 no more issues. Maybe give it a try.
