Taking advantage of an offer to improve Setting Results
Fakum replied to Fakum's topic in Game Performance Bugs
Glide, can you elaborate on this a bit? I am not clear on how to matchup "Antialiasing Transparency to " my choice" AA in DCS? Are you referring to this setting? -

In addition, does anyone have any feedback on the use of using "Full Screen" from the options settings within DCS? I dont see any chatter on this except for a comment by Hiob to turn it ON? -

none of that is obvious to me, so thanks for pointing that out. I will review and address what you are stating here. Thanks again -

I appreciate the feedback so far guys, lots for me to decipher here, and I plan on trying to sift though it all right after i get through the following. Let me try and sort out one of the most basic matters right off the bat. TRACKIR,, as Lang_66 has pointed out, and is something that is widely understood,, setting refresh rates of integers (120/60/30) should be a serious consideration. With that being said, and having a monitor with refresh rates of 60/100/120/144 and knowing that I wont be seeing (or needing) solid FPS in DCS over 80 probably, wouldnt it be beneficial for me to lock my rates at 60? And if so, I would set my monitor to 60, but what should I set my DCS AUTO.cfg Max FPS and the NVIDIA MAX FPS too? I see recommendations to set them for 60 or 58? Thats confusing. -

I do use TrackIR, and I completely agree with what you stated about the integers "(or a division of it, 120/60/30)". I dont think that knocking down my DCS settings to achieve a consistent 60 is going in the right direction though. With the hardware I have, I should be seeing consistency over 60 as it is. I think that can be achieved probably primarily thru the correct NVIDIA settings 1st. That is my 1st target in my opinion,, then dial in DCS settings. I just think my current settings need review and comment. -
Thanks for this. I do however have a question. the location you instruct to install this file "Sound" does NOT already exist in that location?

From this thread here: I’m taking glide up on his offer to help dial in my setting for better performance. I have struggled with stuttering and seemingly low FPS, spent a lot of time over the years with reading through the hundreds of threads concerning settings, even tried my hand at using Process Lasso. I never really achieved anything favorable. I will give this another try. With my current hardware, I think I should be doing better! I average between 30 – 50 (maybe 60 at times) FPS. The microstuttering drives me crazy, its more apparent when I look out the side of the canopy looking at the ground. All my drivers, including Windows 10 are up to date. Maybe I will get lucky here and someone will spot something I really should try and adjust? Thanks for any help.

"If you start your own thread and post your settings, we can get you all tuned up." I'm gonna take you up on that! Ive been frustrated for years trying to dial things in. Ive read thru this thread and im still really not sure what I should set to, not to mention the other 100 threads i read over the years. I would love to plug in my info and get a print out of what settings would be best. 3840 x 1600 res, stuttering, trackIR impacts etc

This is odd! Everytime I open this thread, on any of my PC's, I get this BitDefender notification? Something to do with the photos attached in the 1st post that are no longer available? "chrome.exe attempted to establish a connection relying on an expired certificate to www.schoenstatt-antofagasta.cl. We blocked the connection to keep your data safe since websites must renew their certificates with a certification authority to stay current, and outdated security certificates represent a risk." -
I dont know how its supposed to work right now? It may not even be implemented like the Huey? I cant find any keybinding or this action in the control settings? It may not exist? I was hoping it might be named something else if it does in fact exist?
-
Im not asking how to open the door, Im asking how to "Leave Helicopter" Like you can with the Huey,,, I can open the door all day long and the pilot and crew will not EXIT to the ground
-
I have been fiddling with this for a bit, I did make an improvement, the far away targets that I am zoomed in on and trying to lock are still a tad too sensitive still and I cant seem to improve it any more. The result of getting this smoothed out for distant pinpointing has resulted in the zoomed out spanning Left/Right Up/Down to be jerky/jittery.
-
Guess not then ey?
-
Is there a key binding that give you the ability to "Leave Helicopter" like you can do in the Huey (Huey example below)? I cant find any info? Thanks,
-
My scenario is, there are no Nav points created in the mission editor, I manually enter destinations I choose, I do this one by one. I find a place I want to go on the map, enter the coordinates in the PVI, starting with Nav 1. After I have created say 2 of them, and I no longer need/want them, I just want to erase the coordinates plugged into Nav 1 and 2 and start over with Nav 1. I have not been able to remove the previous coordinates I plugged in for Nav1 so I can create a new Nav 1

Fakum replied to Fakum's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
LOL,,, I hope I dont need it soon though? I literally just transitioned to the Virpil 2 weeks ago after about 18 ish years of the Cougar,, I am keeping it as a backup, so ya never know,, I might want this,,, thanks again for your contributions over the MANy, many years! -
Oldie but goodie? Anywho, I was trying to delete some NAV points that I created while on a mission, and couldn't figure out how to wipe them clear,,, Any help would be appreciated. I did read thru the manual, But I didnt find anything that worked?
-
Thanks! That really helped alot, it got rid of the bump/jump that occurred while coming out of center position. I can now fiddle with the curve a bit more for the end stroke, but this change alone made a significant improvement! Thanks again.
-
Thanks, I will giv that a whirl later today and report back,,, thanks for the tip sir!

Oh thank you sir! -
Much to my surprise, I did NOT see any noticeable difference? Im still struggling a bit with overshooting target designator, especially on distant targets.

That makes sense sir,,, and thank you!
