I had been flying the other modules this week in regular sim mode, so that wasnt the issue, but great point! I had thought long and hard about renaming all of those files to accomplish that, put it seemed more painful to me to take that approach. Another good tip as well, thanks as usual for your input. Honestly, I dont think I will ever solve this mystery, but I could get a reply that I hadnt even though of. Thanks Rudel,,,

I cant call this a Bug, so I am posting here. Last weekend I decided to flush my PC and do a fresh install of Win 10, so I did. I re-installed DCS and knowing that I couldnt transfer any of my Saved Games Inputs into the fresh DCS (Because with a new install, the controller ID's would not match) I knew I would have to start from scratch with a fresh set of keybindings. I cleared each category for each Module I installed and went about setting bindings. The 1st couple days I installed bindings for Huey, BS2 & F-18,,, spent a couple days testing and flying, all was well! Last night, I spent a couple hours assigning keybindings for Harrier, Mi8 & Gazelle. Clearing the HOTAS Throttle, Rudder & Stick colums for each of the modules before installing fresh bindings.. All was well. I log in today to test a flight in the BS2, and HOTAS was not responding? I found that ALL of my keybindings were GONE for the modules I initially setup, but the ones I did last night are intact? What the heck did I do wrong?

So I just finished up install of Windows 10, and MOST of my applications, including BitDefender AntiVirus. I still have NOT touched my NVidia Control Panel AT ALL! So that is still default. Testing to date has been very promising, I have very good frame rates (60+ to 90+), and any stuttering has been hardly noticeable. I have been seeing some screen tearing though. I will have to look at this next. I know I have read thru these replies many times, and for some reason, I cant get my heat wrapped around whether i should be enabling VSync, GSync, Cap Frames to 60 in VCP or DCS Autoexec.cfg or what? GSync is enable by Default in NCP for FULL SCREEN, so I imagine that this is already running since I hit "ALT-ENT" when I enter DCS anyway. Enabling VSYNC (On or Fast?) is likely my next experiment I suppose. -

FYI, I would up doing a fresh install of Win 10 this Saturday, I only installed motherboard, GPU, and HOTAS drivers. No Antivirus software (Only Windows Antivirus running) and no NVidia changes made AT ALL!. Installed DCS, set DCS Graphics to previous settings and ran some quick instant actions and some multiplayer. Was seeing between 60+ to 100+ FPS. Couldnt see any stuttering in Instant action, and just barely some noticeable in multiplayer infrequently. I am slowly adding more features as time permits, e.g. Track IR, Voice Attack etc,,,,,, -
@Tippis Thanks for the tip,,, yeah, sure sounds like way more than I want to deal with,,, thanks! @3WA Thanks for the response, but Im not looking for backup software. by the way, I have been using Acronis faithfully for backups for well over 10 years, never had 1 misfire! and I use it on average once every 2 weeks for incremental backups,, and the occasional restore after experiments,,, never failed me. sorry to hear otherwise.

Thats unfortunate! I have noticed that you were installing Norton prior to installing DCS. I assume you havnt tried DCS right after a fresh install, without any potential impacts of AV Software? i have been backing up files today and settings, profiles for apps and am a hair trigger from installing windows 10 fresh. I really dont want to go thru all of that though, especially to deactivate DCS modules and having to rename HOTAS binding files in the saved games folder because the new install will assign new ID's to the HOTAS,, ,yada, yada , yada -
I think im about to pull the trigger on re-installing Windows 10 (Fresh Flush)and I will need to save and restore my existing bindings. I know im going to have to go thru all the aircraft and rename the backed up files (for my bindings)to the new names, and the only file manager I use is Windows Explorer. I would like to do this with a simple, free app. Can anyone recommend a free, simple user interface app to do this (as suggested above)? Thanks

Thanks for the update. I'm not having issues with Framerates,,, just the stuttering/jittering. I fiddled again with Process Lasso yesterday, I couldnt make any improvements setting DCS on 2, 3 or all 4 cores,,,,

LOL,,, that is just more incentive for me to just walk away,, maybe I just need a break for a day or so. I cant help but think what new issues will be brought to the table when the clouds are released? Seriously though,,, good luck, and keep us posted. -

I did that as well the other day. Im going to give some serious thought to doing a fresh install of Win 10 myself,,,, just hate to go thru all of that new install process, not to mention that I dont have a product key because I did the free upgrade from Win 7, so Its some sort of digital license, and I dont have a Microsoft account to link my current Win 10 to, nor do I want to create one. There is a chance that if I download the Win 10 Creation tool to do a fresh install, it SHOULD be able to collect the info it needs from my existing build to allow a fairy smooth transition. I have to decide,, is it worth it? Man,,, so many hours yet again into this. I seem to do this every year with the hopes the next round will be the winner,,,, lots of good info here though,, just gotta sift it! -

Glad you had success! I know switching in and out of High does nothing for me. I dont know what your asking me about backups but yes,, I can restore back to many backups that I have saved over the years. i was just fiddling with Afinity core settings earlier. Dont have much to report as of yet though. -
@Hectic how did you make out with this?

Yeah,, I just disabled protection and ran in again,,, didnt notice any change,,, been noticing some odd graphics though today that I dont like with all these settings changes,, the trees and shadows around them are flickering noticeably,, and I can see what I can only describe as some sort of draw distance appearing right outside my canopy on the ground,,,its like I am watching it draw in the final details. and my draw distances are all maxed out. My frame rates are running well into the 90's. lowest I have rally seen are 60 ish,, but that has been that way before I started wit the power settings and getting process lasso uninstalled. Im about had enough of all this, I might finally just give up,,, -

I really couldn't see any differences in severity. I do have the DCS Files set so they are not scanned with my Bitdefender software -

So far, here are the results (not good yet) NCP Custom settings + Process Lasso Installed + High Performance Power Setting = Stuttering/Jitters NCP Custom settings + Process Lasso Installed + BITSUM High Performance Power Setting = Stuttering/Jitters NCP Custom settings + Process Lasso UNINSTALLED+ High Performance Power Setting = Stuttering/Jitters NCP Custom settings + ULTIMATE Performance Power Setting = Stuttering/Jitters NCP ALL TO DEFAULT + ULTIMATE Performance Power Setting = FPS DROP + Stuttering/Jitters To be continued, I think I am now going to try and adjust some NCP settings with this current config of NCP ALL TO DEFAULT + ULTIMATE Performance Power Setting -

Also, I read through that thread regarding Process Lasso, that basically lead to resolving the matter by setting affinity masking thru DCS autoexe file, that apparently still does not work? That post is located at -
Just following up yet again to confirm,,, so editing the autoexec for affinity_mask still does not work, correct???

Hmmm so that is interesting! I actually do have Process Lasso installed, but its NOT the paid version, and I havnt used that in a long time (couldnt get it dialed in) I dont think it has been running since sometime last year? I will have to uninstall it and see if there is any difference? Thanks for pointing that out. -

Thats a new twist indeed! Tonite, the only thing I tested (In Windows Power Options)was going from " High Performance" to "Bitsum High Performance" ( I changed nothing else so far). Still Stutters. Tomorrow I will keep it on "Bitsum High Performance", and set NVidia settings to Default and see what happens. -
Thanks for the feedback guys

That is the hat that is used most frequent, and is certainly the most noticeable! One on the Throttle is similar, but not quite as bad,, the others on the grip are pretty descent, maybe I need to do a ticket,, I cringe on the thought though
