I don't think this one would be modelled because this idea never went further than test, due to the high value of tomcats during the war ( in many cases they were not allowed to cross the border and they couldn't escort attack packages). no need to mention the dangerous nature of such a huge unguided rocket and its inaccuracy. all factors mentioned above, combined together convinced those crazy minds to stop using this idea!!!!!
-
So it was my misunderstanding, and I've only seen the towed version used by the Iranian army.

First one M-117 attached to a hawk missile rocket
-
Yes, Sea-cat was installed on navy vessels like Sahand and Alvand and its terrible job made the navy to replace them with something else during early days of the war.
-
Do you want to shoot some rockets with the cat? DO IT LIKE A REAL MAN!!!!:doh: I'm glad this stupid idea never became opertainal
-
It's used, actually, it did a pretty good job during the Iran-Iraq war, even it took down tu22, unlike the sea-cat. And it's probably still in service.

Maybe they're hot because they're made of metal and had been under sun rays for hours? just guessing :)

I can clearly remember years ago when my father found one of their nests inside the garage roof, those big, red hornets (we call them Cow Hornets) I can clearly remember their disgusting red body with some yellow parts in the middle. Heard many bad things about them back then like how their bite can be so painful, or it can even disable the kidney. Can't remember how my father got rid of those hornets, as he had to get so close to their nest to get his car out.

AI planes which would be Nice in Persian Gulf Map
Atooyi replied to sadjad-vosoul's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I'm not much of an f-5 expert but, I think they do this to prevent FOD during taxi phase, and these covers will be removed before entering runway (can't approve if it's the right thing to do, just explaining my guess). also found this in dcs f-5e manual which explains how air is provided to the engines while those covers are on: Auxiliary (aux) intake doors on each side of the fuselage above the wing trailing edge provide additional air to the engines for added thrust during takeoff and low-speed flight (low dynamic pressure). The doors are automatically controlled by a signal from the central air data computer (CADC). An aux intake doors indicator on the instrument panel provides an indication of closed, intermediate, or open position of the doors. Aux Intake Doors Indicator During engine start, the auxiliary intake doors open after each individual generator comes on the line (48 % rpm). After takeoff, the doors close at approximately Mach 0.4 (255 ± 10 KIAS). During descent and landing pattern entry, the doors open at approximately Mach 0.375 (235 ± 5 KIAS). Upon loss of AC power, the doors move to closed position as the doors are spring-loaded closed and actuated open. -
yeah, that's pretty annoying, I hope this issue gets some solution sooner as it's pretty hard to find one of our team members with a stable connection to host a server for our training.
-
I'm planning to rent a dedicated server for our squad, Just for training and some missions, I really think this would solve lots of our problems, but I don't really know where to start, and which specs would be suiting my needs. The server doesn't have to be something fancy which dozens of people can connect to, at worst situation 10 people would be connecting the server, The mission itself will be pretty simple, one gunnery range and PVP/PVE arenas, at the worst situation the number of objects would go up to 300-350. So with this situation what specs do you guys think would suit my needs? Is there any guide that can help on server and missions? I've heard somewhere on the forum they're going design a client for the dedicated servers, is it out yet? Thank you so much

Started with 5-6MB/s and now it's stuck under .5MB/s ....never felt that bad about my internet connection!!

it's Finally here!!! And of course right in the middle of my new semester first week, probably gonna miss lots of classes :) but totally worth it

Way better than flying 8 hours in other non-combat sims dead environment,at least there's some life going on in the populated servers... just imagine the amount of planes coming in for the fuel, it would be pretty fun if it was possible to switch to boom operator..
-
Thinking about Kc-135 or other tanker aircrafts, this is what that comes into my mind :))) I really love to smash some f-15 or a-10 s with the boom :chair: besides, flying an airbus would be pretty fun in a combat environment, gimme that tanker and I will be flying it at least for 8 hours straight in populated servers :)))

F-7/J-7 s are based in omidiyeh AFB as scramble planes, So they probably not gonna appear over Persian Gulf or atleast SOH a lot. but well, it would be nice to have their AI in dcs -
AIM-54 Effect on MP (now that we can test it in the sim)
Atooyi replied to Xavven's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
No upgrades really happened to them, or gone further than prototypes, the only thing that might have happened to the whole active fleet(probably using inactive fleet spare parts) is probably the ability to overhaul the tomcat. this is how thing goes on on Iranian army: they release some bad ass prototype but they don't have the budget to mass produce it, or sometimes it's just some propaganda sh** and are no where near the reality ( like the F-14AM or F-313 ). And by the way I've seen plenty of the cockpit photos and videos of f-14 and found to modernized cockpit, you can find them in my tomcat footage thread. -

Atooyi replied to Xavven's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I really think some servers will give f-14 s to both sides considering IRIAF as a REDFOR operator of F-14A. But I agree about nagging and crying part !!! -
Well, I stated that I won't buy this hornet till it's complete in this forum sometimes ago, but I prefer to pre-purchase and pay 60 instead of 80, but for me, the question is not about buying, it's about the time. As the news letter says the EA will be around the end of spring which will be 6 months from now, I will pre-purchase the hornet, but won't be my top priority for now, I will probably buy multiple copies for the guys in my squad, but I'm not sure when.
-
Yup I know, I was mentioning the ones that we don't have right now and are under development.
-
Not Sure if they're going to do that, but I'm already thinking about a Iranian side campaign based on The tanker war with both English and Farsi voice overs, maybe even with voice overs of real veteran pilots who participated in Iran-Iraq war (maybe even voice overs of current active tomcat pilots, although I really doubt air force security would allow that), with the release of tomcat, SOH, mirage f1, and phantom, we have enough modules to recreate Iran-Iraq war scenarios.

Not heard about it, gotta ask my friend who had just transferred from f-7 into tomcat front seat.
