1. After more testing, I found the culprit. It's the SIMMOD Loreload Terrain Mod. With that installed, the trees go weird. With it uninstalled, normal trees...
2. weird, it must be the fog param that's affecting them... roll on compatibility patch....
3. I just tried that and stock ones look worse. Its not the enb mod either, actually looks better with it on. Do your trees look like this?
4. That's right, they're your trees! I forgot I had them installed....
5. It works for me :) I didn't change any settings for the trees apart from clip distance. I guess it's the tree haze (?) effect exaggerated through my ENB Mod settings. I do use grandsurf and rocky's textures... maybe that changes the trees? Would be great to see this and the fog fixed in the patch... Thanks for your original post which inspired me to figure this out. None of your settings worked for me, so maybe these won't work for you?
6. EDIT 3 - 20.08 - Values changed, fog, opaque buildings, clear ground textures, no pop-up, 10km view distance for trees I can't figure this problem out. Change A, B changes. Change B, A changes. Change A again, C changes. For more info see here Below are the settings I'm using at the moment. I'm waiting until the compatibility patch comes. Fingers crossed. ------------- Something's been puzzling me ever since I reinstalled Black Shark. How to get the combination of solid buildings in the shkval, fog, clear ground textures up to the horizon and a realistic view distance for objects? After messing around with settings for a few days, I've finally found some that work, for me at least, for DCS Black Shark. After reading a similar post by Bucic and having no success with his settings, I set about trying to find a set that would work for me and as such, this might work for you, it might not. Make sure to set textures, scenes and visib range to high in game. Screenshots at end of post. How to 1. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Eagle Dynamics\Ka-50\Config\graphics_bs.cfg 2. Backup this file 3. Open this file with Notepad++ 4. Edit the following lines Camera High { near_clip = 0.2; middle_clip = 5; far_clip = 120000; structures = {60, 9000}; trees = {1000, 15000}; dynamic = {300, 20000}; objects = {5000, 80000}; mirage = {3000, 20000}; surface = {20000, 80000}; lights = {200, 80000}; lodMult = 2.0; lodAdd = 0; }LandLODDistances LandDay { L01 = 20000; L12 = 80000; } OldLandNoise OldLandNoise { perSquare = 5; perSquare2 = 150; front = 1000; back = 80000; top = 2500; map_high = 20000; bottom = 2000; noisemax = 0.5; noisemin = 0.1; }End Section FogParam1 = 6; FogParam2 = 2.0;
7. Thanks Peter, I use that in DCS A-10C. I want to use it in DCS Black Shark too.
8. After a long break from Black Shark, I'm back in the cockpit and have a few questions... 1. How can I change the size of the radio text? 2. Can I make the radio menu clickable? 3. Can I move the radio menu to the right side of the screen? Thanks Toby
9. I've been trying to get the ENB mod to work, like it does for Black Shark, but I can't... That would be a great way to control the saturation and bloom. The lighting in DCS A-10C is very good but if we could just get it like in your screenshots Moto, that would be perfect...
10. Well spotted Baggy but don't worry, the file provided includes the CDU/EGI text as well. Once the next patch comes out, I will merge all my texture mods into one download to make things easier. I just need to see what ED will change first before I release it. Some of the files included with the sim aren't actually used in game but I edit and include them anyway, except for this one because it doesn't need it. See attached screenshots from my sim, works with and without lighting.
11. Using Friendlies On approach to your target, you will probably be lit up by enemy radar/ aircraft. That is probably a good time to turn around, go back and orbit around a safe waypoint, call SEAD and CAP and wait until they've done their job. With the radio switched to the correct frequency, 124.00mhz in most campaign missions, you will hear the OTHERS calling in attack runs and targets. It's a good idea to keep a note of the OTHERS' callsigns, so you know who's attacking what. This is where a Mission Data Card can come in handy. Loadouts I made a couple of custom loadouts for the campaigns because I wasn't having much joy with those provided. One for tanks and soft targets and one for tanks and buildings. The files in the above link also include a weapons guide which can help you put together some loadouts that work well for you. Use your gun only when you're sure you're not going to get your ass whipped by AAA units. Best offense is a good defence. PS is best used from higher altitudes eg 8000ft +, CCIP is better suited for dive attacks, better from lower altitudes eg 10,000ft or less.
12. Updated 13/08 - Start-Up Checklist updated to reflect CDU display based on real-life procedure - Start-Up Checklist updated to reflect real life external lighting regulations
13. Attached a replacement texture for the missing tick mark on the Intercom Dial. Installation instructions included. This will be included in my planned combined texture pack but is provided here for you to use now. Toby
14. You can try combining cepega's tinted glass with my no rays sun mod and this gets you half way there... You can also remove the glare of the sun but I haven't found a way yet to mask the screen as if your visor is down.
15. Leroni, as you have suspended production of part two, would you consider selling the 7 (?) missions you have completed so far? Or are you planning to carry on work on part 2 when the compatibiity patch for DCS:BS is released? Or are you working on a new campaign for DCS A-10C? Thanks, Toby
16. Is it possible to spawn a Player at the ramp with engines running? I would like to be able to jump in ready to taxi for a custom single player mission. Starting on the runway spoils the fun and a cold start every time becomes boring quickly. Wise words for the impatient are much appreciated.
17. just posted by Reid Air Publications Publishers of The Modern Hog Guide
18. Is this compatible with 1.1.0.9? Spoiler Alert I tried Greenzone 1 last night (d/l 2 wks ago) and after a rushed start-up (2 mins more would have been nice!) and take-off, I followed Lead to WP3 with nothing happening on the way... Whereupon he pulled some crazy moves to turn 180 and then flew back, via WP2, to WP1. Then he shot off to the Tanker, which I couldn't track via Tacan, refuelled and disappeared. Am I missing something really important? Thanks for making this. I was also really inspired to try some real life missions after reading Fire/Strike 9/7 and Warthog by W.Smallwood.
19. Offset Heading and distance from the bullseye, normally. See
20. Here's a map of the zones, the black line divides them.
21. Ace, if you're going to take on the campaign, make sure you know how to: 1. Orbit around a waypoint whilst contacting JTAC for targets 2. Hook/ Remove a target from JTAC on the TAD 3. Enter JTAC coordinates into the CDU 4. Mark points and find them again There are also some excellent tutorials on YouTube from these guys... Chrissakky emtguf wagmatt
22. Use the radio to contact OTHER (F10) Then from the menu, select SEAD. They will only be available once you are heading towards your target area. You can also contact CAS (ground targets) and CAP (air targets) from this menu, when available.
23. Schleudersitz these are fantastic charts and really well made. It must have taken you a long time. Thank you very much. I would rep you but it won't let me... PS - Tskhakaya (UGST) is now Senaki-Kolkhi (UGKS)
24. Q. Is there a way to increase the field of view without zooming out and getting the tunnel effect..? I did a test flight, zoomed out, at 100ft radar and the sense of speed, without any ground clutter, was immense but the tunnel effect makes it unplayable.
25. vJaBoG's aerodrome guide and checked in the mission editor. The differences are approx. Mozdok 9ft Kolkhi 3ft Soganlug 40ft Sukhumi 20ft Tbilisi-Lochini 40ft Vaziani 31ft
