Enjoy, Toby ==================================================== Original Post 11/08/17 I have had some time recently to get back into DCS and have spent that learning to fly the Mi-8 in the default campaign with Devrim's excellent black english cockpit mod. Thanks to the, now complete, manual and, accompanied by Chuck's guide and the information from AlphaOneSix's various posts, I have learned more about how the systems work. As a result, I have spent a lot of time improving the cockpit by correcting labels, creating new annunciator lights, rebuilding the doppler tuning panel, adjusting the gauge lighting and so on. Both Belsimtek and Devrim's original work is excellent and out of respect for that, I have only sent him these textures and will not make them available but perhaps Devrim will add these to his next patch for everyone who uses the black cockpit mod, fingers crossed... Meanwhile, some screenshots for you all to see.

After playing around with the editing, I have created a set to show speed in mph, for the P-51D and Spitfire, that excludes beacons. Now all that's missing is an option to show distance between waypoints for the Mi-8! Thanks again for this awesome tool.

No need to subtract the magnetic deviation, if that's what you mean. It just would be great to have heading and distance on each section instead of heading and speed, maybe even an option for all three but distance is the most important, for setting the doppler system. Thanks, this is a really fantastic tool.

Unless I missed something, I still have to manually select and load a mission every time? Yes, I can manually select a mission from the 100's that you have created but why would I want to? I would prefer to start a mission and have a different set of tasks every time. If I misunderstood your tool, then please explain to me how to get this. -

This is a really great idea for pick up and play but to truly shine it needs to be automatic. I don't know how to write lua but maybe someone else who can could write a script to randomly spawn one of the 100 missions when you start a 'master' mission. I don't fancy having a 100 random missions filling my missions folder, so if there is any kind of option to keep them in a separate folder, that would be great. -
I got it working, perfect for following my flightplan in the campaign. Is there a way to make it add the distances instead of the speed? HDG and Distance are more relevant for helicopter missions, not altitude or speed. To get it working in the Mi-8MTV2, I needed to use the abbreviation Mi-8M for the Kneeboard aircraft folder. I must be getting too old for this but I cannot make this work. I would really be happy if this created a page in the kneeboard with a simple waypoint route overview for each mission. As I can't see the briefed route on the map inside a mission, it would be great to have on the kneeboard. I've followed the instructions but nothing happens when I start a mission, do I need to download something else? Thanks, Toby

Can't get enough of the Mi8 at the moment.. Some shots from Mission 4 in the stock Campaign.. No spoilers but this was an interesting flight up until the very end.. Loving the campaign so far..

It will depend on your monitor, GPU and settings but here's what I use.. - PMMTC Ver2.3 - PicksKing Terrain - Reshade 3.0.6 These settings seem to work great at any time of day and any time of year. YMMV. Cut and paste the settings below into a Notepad++ document and Save to \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin as dcs 1-5-6 realism.ini.
