  1. What do I need to achieve in order to get this mission complete? I've just flown this mission, killed around 30 ground targets with my flight, and returned in one piece. When I got back home I had around 3% fuel left. Do I need to blow up everything in order to get it complete?
  2. Well, Pressing PageDown reduces throttle, which you should NOT do before you are safe on the ground. Here you said it :

  4. My first blade clip came after my very first 7 seconds in the air..
  5. good rule indeed. I just wan't to point out that we're now talking about true airspeed and not ground speed.
  6. based on my common sense, yes, it would compensate the effect (that was actually what I was answering in my last post)
  7. Don't think its common practice to reduce engine power BEFORE you hit the ground. It sounds very dangerous to me at least.
  8. no (based on my common sense, which might be wrong from time to time :D) edit : like now :D
  9. I'm a PPL-A pilot and fly the Piper PA-180 Cherokee. I also had this aircraft in FS2002. Some stuff is MUCH easier in real life, like trimming the aircraft, tuning the radio knobs, etc. However, the thing that will crap the pants of a desktop simmer the first time he wil be in a real aircraft is the fact that the beast is actually MOVING and you will feel the vibrations and G-forces. You will spend much more time looking OUTSIDE the window in a real aircraft rather than watching instruments (at least in VFR flights :) )
  10. I use SIM all the way, however I do cheat sometimes by selecting missile view when I fire vikhr to get a better view of the place i'm firing at. I also hit the F10 key from time to time to "simulate" an awacs birds eye view :p EDIT : I agree. When I'm up to learn something new, I always start as difficult as it can get, and then adjust the level of difficulty if it gets too hard.
  11. based on the few hours I've spent so far (soon finished with the first campaign), this is my wish list (in no particular order) in next patch: OAT gauge IFF switch (it's clickable but it doesn't work) A-A selector switch which nightlynx said. (I suppose you can launch a vikhr against an airborne target) Amp and Volt meter gauge (basicly all the buttons and gauges on the Electrical System panel, not very important but might be handy ;))
  12. Don't know if this has been posted before, but on page 2 you can read Which is not true at all. The campaigns are indeed linear or do I miss something? (have only played the first campaign though, not even finnished)
  13. a green light and no blue light indicates that TrackIr doesn't recognize Black Shark, which means you haven't got all the updates I guess. In the TrackIr window, have you done this : Update -> Check for Game Updates.. ?
  14. Well, I'm a "real" pilot as well (if you consider people with PPL-A as real pilots) and I must admit that I never has missed the "adjust cabin temperature" switch in a simulator. You really care about this? If you along with the software got a suit which simulates coldness/heat, then I might worth consider that button to be operational. :p What about adjusting safety harness and the seat? Should that be possible as well??
  15. Arneh, there's a sticky post about the English manual where you should post these issues : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=33620 ;)
  16. what about a real ejection seat? Would made you think twice about hitting ctrl+E, E, E
  17. I know exactly how you feel! And if you have a son, a wife and a dog you will REALLY appreciate the few moments you get with this baby ;) It's the best game I've played since F-19 Stealth Fighter :D
  18. When I was in the airforce 12 years ago I heard a story with the use of AIM-120 Amraam. If I can recall correctly, during the Gulf War 4 planes where shot down with this missile; 3 foes and one friendly. So these things happens.
  19. I must disable SLI, since my computer crashes whenever i hover my mouse over a button in the menu (launcher) if SLI is enabled. Allthough it works if I'm not using fullscreen though, but thats out of the question for me anyways.
  20. That was a good idea actually!
  21. your "pipper" must be within the shkval spot, then you'll see a "C" in your hud. press and hold the fire button and enjoy the mayhem :)
  22. If you do a search for this topic on this forum, you'll find some very good reading that justifies the "ghost" trees. And I believe using tree as tactical aids from a helicopter pilot perspective is not that usual as you might think it is. here : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=34398&highlight=trees
  23. me too, a very nice resource and I am actually suprprised I didn't find this PDF in the installation folder
  24. Heh, I accidentally managed to blow up two friendly tanks last night during the campaign. I understood it right away that I killed the wrong tanks and since I didn't wanted that particular "achievement" on my record, I took the most unrealistic remedy : I killed the DCS.exe process from the task manager and reflew the mission :D
  25. Yeah, the trimming works better with a force feedback joystick, just make sure to enable back ForceFeedbackEnabled = true; in the .\config\Producer.cfg. ;) Too bad there arent any high quality force feedback joysticks in production anymore.
