  1. @LeCuvier: Just when I think I've got this figured out,,, and start getting cocky.. I mess it all up again! OK, Here's a few more I'm working on, but they don't seem to work and my brain hurts really bad now two - two position switches for autopilot altitude mode and Heading mode. AND... one last 3 position for the landing lights.   2. @LeCuvier as always... you have saved me again! This is exactly what I needed.. I was doing some more digging and had transposed the Up/Down value with the cockpit device ID, but I think You've finally made me see the light!! thank you , thank you, thank you!
  3. @LeCuvier I'm getting closer to learning this stuff I promise... Unfortunately, I'm stumped again. I'm trying to tweak some bindings for the Ka-50 and I've tried copying some of your other code, but I'm stuck on this one: {down = 3001, up = 3001, value_down = 1.0, value_up = 0, cockpit_device_id = 22, name = _('Jettison arm 2-Pos ON/OFF'), category = _('Ins Weapons Status and Control Panel PUI-800')}, I can map the switch in game, but it doesn't actually do anything.. I'm sure I'm missing something, but I've been looking at the clickable data and the command_defs and I can't figure it out. I can't figure out the down 3001 part or if the cockpit device ID is correct? Can you help me again thanks!
  4. Gotcha, the weight issue makes sense... I experience a similar issue in the Huey, but because you can "feel" the load swinging in the Huey, you can get in sync with it and usually salvage a swinging load. Unfortunately for me, I've had to suspend my Mi-8 campaigns until this issue is resolved

  7. OKay. thanks for clarifying the speed. With regard to rope length. Even in singleplayer campaigns, you can go into the mission planner, click on your helicopter, and change the rope length and skin before starting the mission.
  8. OK, I'll take a look, I flew between 100 to 150 KPH. Once the cargos start to swing (mostly side to side) there is literally nothing I can do to stop them from swinging, and they will continue to swing - not unlike a ball that continues to bounce without stopping.. It's like gravity isn't affecting the loads and they just swing and swing. Regarding "Light cargos", I'm just saying that the 2 cargos in your mission appear small and relatively light, and I could pick them up and move them around and they didn't seem to exhibit the swinging behavior. @fudabidu and @Raven (Elysian Angel), glad to see I'm not the only one struggling with the mission. Good to know that I can still advance the campaign even if I only score 50%. I've made a bug report on the MI-8 forum, let's see if anyone else thinks there is an issue. What size rope length do you all recommend?
  9. Once the cargo starts swinging it will continue to swing without any sign of slowing down. Track attached. The track ends when the cargo swings to the point that the sling/rope breaks. Please note, this track is from the Oil Field Campaign, which I understand contains DRM so may not be playable by all.   10. OK, well I'm doing the oil field campaign and best I can tell the slingloading must just be broken in that campaign. I have a track, but it's got the DRM in it, so not sure who can open it to examine. (attached google drive link) Basically I am flying along around 100kph and the load just starts swinging with no input from me whatsoever... I try to bank into the swing as suggested on another post, but basically the thing just swings until it snaps. I'm basically going to give up and call this a game breaking bug for slingloading... I've tried long ropes, short ropes.. Doesn't really matter. I managed to transport a very heavy log roll on a short rope all the way to the LZ without any swinging issues only to have it "destroyed" (logs mind you) while slowly descending to set it in place.... Maybe the campaign owner of the oil field campaign has some parameters in place to make it more difficult - I don't know, but I can tell you it's absolutely ruining my experience in the HIP. Here's track if anyone cares. It ends when the cargo snaps after an uncommanded swinging action. I downloaded @unknown track above and those light cargos in the mission don't exhibit any real issues for me, but that's doesn't help solve the issue.   11. Thanks for the feedback. It would be good to get feedback on what particular parameter the player has violated so we can improve.. Rather than a general message of, "I'm revoking your flight status" with no additional information. I'll give it another try.

  13. Guys.. what is up with the swinging 10, swinging 30 with cargo loads? No matter how fast I fly, or how slow I fly, or how smooth I fly, or what length rope I use, the cargo magically starts swinging and I can't make it stop, no matter what I try. As a result, I'm unable to complete any of the oil field campaign missions that require slingloading, because no matter how slow I lower the cargo to the ground - when it's swinging it is destroyed... Help please. And please don't just say fly smoother, because I have been, with a centered ball - heck even in no wind these sling loaded cargos are swinging for no reason. Is this just a bug?
  14. So I turn downwind for the Carrier and then am told to look at my kneeboard to figure out the holding pattern. OK - looks like I need to make my way to the right side of the ship and orbit base heading of 120... Easy enough.. but as soon as I turn to setup for that I get a message that the dipshit old guy in the back of the chopper is going to revoke my flight status.... WTF over? Is there like an English translation that explains what I'm supposed to actually do to complete the mission.. The other 3 times I've flown it the dipshit in the back gets sick (which I presume means I can continue to fly for another hour only to have a mission fail at the end) - yeah.. this is real fun... NOT

    And...if the frequency isn't listed as a preset on your kneeboard you need to use the manual radio tuning head to dial in the frequency manually which is what I needed to do in the case of nellis...

    OK, I may have figured it out. I was misunderstanding the presets for airfields... I may have to reference the frequency list on the kneeboard and set that number for the comm preset to work.. MORE research required - RTFM - LOL

    Yes The presets are listed in the kneeboard. Usually the airport you spawn at is listed as "50" so I press 050 in the radio and transmit. I see my text on the screen but get no response. If I select easy comms to on - then I get a response. So something isn't set up right on the jeff radio - I'll see if it's an AM/FM thing.

    Nevada... I will try it with a select command but I don't usually use that and I don't believe I have it turned on.. I prefer to just set the radio manually based on what's on the kneeboard

    Does anyone having Vaicom working in the Jeff with Easy Comms Off? With easy comms on I can get it to work, but when I enable real comms I can't get tower or anyone for that matter to talk to me. I get a properly constructed message and the "done" prompt in voiceattack, but nobody answers me. I've checked and my cockpit volume is up... What am I missing? I have VAicom working in all my other modules with the exception of the WWII birds which still require easy comms on for me.
  22. awesome! Can we get bindings for the three light rheostats on the right console? I couldn't find them in the bindable controls list.. ..counterclockwise/clockwise would be perfect for rotary encoders..
  23. Is the JF-17 working at all right now with easy comms off? I can't get radio comms with the tower at all unless I switch easy comms on...
