F-18 grip, WARTHOG compatible
Cowboy10uk replied to hegykc's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I will also add here, that with the current plans for DCS Hornet, and a possible DCS F14 in the works, I would certainly be very interesting in purchasing replacement warthog grips for these aircraft. The warthog base and electrics and fantastic, so don't see myself replacing that anytime soon, but if I had an option to get different grips for the base depending on the aircraft would be a dream come true. I'm following this project very closely indeed. Can't wait to see the final product Cowboy10uk -
Hi guys, back in the day when A10 was a pre order, part of the order was the Los Vegas map, which of cause has been slightly delayed. Now it is nearing release, can anyone remember when the pre order cutoff to receive this map for free was? I am obviously assuming that ED will stick by the original pre order and allow those who pre ordered the A0 to receive the NTTR map for free, however that's a question for Wags to answer closer to the release date. :) well while yes I've already ordered, hearing how good it is from a fellow DCS user, has certainly put my mind at rest. Sounds like it will work perfectly, and might actually get my wife off my back. ;) Was very impressed it's the service, and the centre mount only added £5 to the cost, so I really cannot complain about that. :) Don't get me wrong the floor mounted mount I have at the moment is absolutly stunning but sadly does take up a lot of room. Due to the large piece of wood I've mounted it too. At least this way I will hopefully be able to hide all my flight sim equipment away while I'm not flying and my wife is working from home. Leatherneck Simulations Monthly Update - January 2015

Yes it certainly would. But damn, I'm gonna go through a hell of a lot of aircraft. Hell most of the time I can't even land on a dry runway. ;) Cowboy10uk -
Leatherneck Simulations Monthly Update - January 2015
Cowboy10uk replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Ahhh come on, don't get my excited like that. A Vietnam map for DCS would be the ultimate dream for me. Vietnam, Hueys and F4s, maybe we get very very lucky and get a skyraider sometime. I know it's very very unlikely. I cannot wait to see what Leathernck has planned for us. IF the F14 is correct, then I will already be gobsmacked, I know the pic and shape shown is almost certainly a F14, I certainly can't think of anything it looks like, but until it's offically announced I don't want to believe that I will be that lucky, IF we are correct, then it will jump straight to the top of the list of modules I'm waiting for. Yes even higher than another Belsimtek helicopter or VEAOs Puma, and that's saying something. Waiting for next months update or the teaser trailer is gonna be a very very hard slog. Cowboy10uk -
Damn the 15th is gonna take a long time to get here. :) Can't wait to see a video or even better fly the aircraft myself. Blown away at the amount of systems that are shown to be simulated. Cowboy10uk

Hi Guys, I'm wondering if anyone here can help me. I currently have my Warthog floor mounted on a rather large piece of wood, with the throttle sat on a old cabinet on the left hand side of my seat. This setup works great, however since my little baby arrived, my wife has been rather keen to start working from home, using the home office. As such she wants me to take up less space with my flight sim equipment and preferably hide it out of the way when I'm not flying. ( This after I've already been reduced from 4 monitors to 1 due to the space they took up on the desk. :( ) Therefore I've been looking for other solutions, I've come across this stand from Wheelstand pro, which I think may be the solution, it looks solid, is fairly reasonable priced and will fold down while I'm not using it. http://wheelstandpro.com/products/wheel-stand-pro-for-thrustmaster-hotas-warthog--deluxe-v2 My only reservations is the fact that it mounts the stick and throttle rather close together and that means the stick will be off to the right, rather than being a centred mounted stick that I'm used to. If anyone has used this stand, could you please let me know what it's like to fly with and if the stick and throttle being mounted together causes any major issues? While this may solve my wife's concerns with the home office, I would hate to completely destroy my flight sim experience. So any advice would be great fully received. Cowboy10uk

Leatherneck Simulations Monthly Update - January 2015
Cowboy10uk replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Wow great update. While I appreciate the photo looks like a Tomcat, sadly I doubt it very much. Simply for the reason, there is no way I'm gonna be that lucky. ;) Please please please prove me wrong, I would do anything to get this aircraft in DCS, although we will need the multicrew aspect working first. No way can we fly it without a Rio. The Mig 21 is a stunning aircraft, I can't wait to see what the next project is, the only thing I will can say for certain, is whatever it is I'm buying it. :) Cowboy10uk -
Hi Tango, can I just ask, do you get both versions I.E. The trainer and the military version in the one module, or do I have to choose and purchase each aircraft separately? Just getting finances ready so need to know If it's one or two purchases Cowboy10uk

I would buy a DCS b17 in a heartbeat. I love the A2A B17 in FSX, and of course I spent many many years flying B17, and B17 the mighty eighth way back in the day, was a absolutly stunning experience. when I've used multiple crew aircraft in MP games, it is a great sense of achievement when you complete the mission together. Rise of flight has achieved this quite well, utilising either 2 seaters upto large Gotha Bombers. Keeping my fingers crossed, that we may see this one day in the future. Cowboy10uk

Well to be fair, releasing the SFM first, will allow for a more in depth level of bug checking, as they will be able to see how the very in depth systems react once it's out in the real world. While I do prefer AFM models, I certainly see no issue with releasing a SFM model first, purely because of the amount of work involved. It will start getting funds into the studios where they are needed, and therefore we will get a better AFM product at the end of it all. If they release an option similar to VEAOs Hawk, where you can get the SFM for $39.99 or you can preorder the AFM for $49.99 then I will certainly be purchasing day one. I see no difference, between paying to get the SFM first to give the studio funds to complete the AFM model, or pre purchasing the A10C and waiting for months to get the beta.( Hell I'm still waiting to receive part of the pre order purchase 5 yrs or so late. ) Don't look at it as buying the SFM version, but as pre ordering the AFM version Cowboy10uk

Wow wasn't expecting this, what a great surprise for the new year. Will I be right in assuming it will follow the standard price of $49.99 for the efm model? Cowboy10uk

DCS: Mi-8MTV2 English Flight Manual
Cowboy10uk replied to EvilBivol-1's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has this manual as a PDF file I could download for my iPad. Sadly it dosnt like the download link and I'm currently away on holiday. Fancy getting something to read while I'm visiting relatives. :D Cowboy10uk -
I dream of an upto date version of B17 The mighty eighth. I spent many many many wonderful hours on missions in that sim, yes there were problems and bugs, as there are in every flight sim. But I think they did manage to nail the crew management and the feeling of being in a multicrewed bomber. As already mentioned. A2A simulations have already made a stunning rendition of the bomber itself and with the accusim add on its as complex as any DCS module. Now if we can combine that with a multicrewed environment in DCS World, it would be absolutely mind blowing. Yes I know it's very very very unlikely, but hey I can dream. :) But basically the answer is a huge YES, I would purchase a B17 in DCS World in a heartbeat. Cowboy10uk

Ok I'm an idiot, but how do I use the weapons on this aircraf?
Cowboy10uk replied to Cowboy10uk's topic in MiG-21Bis
Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. Thanks for all the advice guys, this one above though from Jerkzilla, managed to solve the problem. I was forgetting the arming button. Doohhhhh. Thankfully weapons are now up and firing, which is rather lucky, as I was getting my ass kicked dogfighting without them. ;) Thanks everyone for taking the time to answer me. Cowboy10uk -
Hi guys, first of thanks for the Mig 21, I absolutly love this aircraft, however I do have one slight issue, in that I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the weapons up, working and launching? I turn on all the weapon switches and pylons on right hand side, click the red switch to armed on centre console, switch the rotary switch to the correct pylon, but after that, I'll be damned if anything happens. I know, it's something I'm doing wrong, I just have no idea what it is. Could anyone please be so kind as to talk me through weapon deployment. I've watched videos, and read the manual over and over, and it's just not going in. Sorry, I know this should be straight forward, but hey I'm an idiot. ;) Bro wants to dogfight using the F86 later tonight, and I'm pretty sure if I can't get the weapons working, I may be at a slight disadvantage. ;) Cowboy10uk

What can I say, Stunning, just totally stunning LN. This aircraft is amazing and you have done a fantastic job bringing her to us. Thankyou. Had a great time flying round the mountains, scared myself silly by stalling the wings and falling out of the sky like a stone, well until I managed to get those wings, providing lift again. Landing was horrible, how the hell I managed to walk away from it, I never know. I certainly gave air traffic a scare that's for sure, and had to pop over to clothing stores for a new flight suit, as mine is slightly soiled now. ;) Oh and I really really need to be more conservative with my fuel, engine cut off and ran out just as I touched down, think that's what you call the skin of your teeth. Next time, I'll actully read the manual and learn how to fly her rather than just joyriding and making every single mistake there is. All in all, one of the best MP sessions I've had in a long time. Absolutly NO slowdown or loss of FPS for either myself or others as well. Which I was surprised about after reading about those issues here. I can't say it enough, Thankyou LN, she is a absolute joy to own and fly. The attention to detail is mindblowing. Here's to many many happy hours flying in the Mig. Oh and maybe just maybe, reading the manual

Mmmmmmmmmm bloody tease. ;) Cowboy10uk

Not worried about the size of the map, as it's new tech and a new game engine. We have to crawl before we can walk right. Anyway Wags has already clearly stated bigger is better, so I'm pretty confident he has even bigger plans hidden up his sleeves to surprise us with. As it is, this map looks stunning, not to mention Nevada which I loved flying around in the beta all those years ago. :) The future is extremely bright for us dcs simmers. The only decision is carrier ops, or rotary ops. Now that is a hard choice. :) Cowboy10uk
