Guide to takeoffs and nozzle rotation speed
Soundwave197 replied to Fisherman82's topic in AV-8B N/A
Thats working for my lazy ass: Rolling takeoff I use water only if the runway is short, flaps set to auto. 20000-22000lbs, nozzle@0°, rotate at 100knts with nozzle to 60° 23000-25000lbs, nozzle@0°, rotate at 120knts with nozzle to 60° 25000-30000lbs, nozzle@0°, rotate at 140knts with nozzle to 60° 5sec after takeoff and positive climb reduce throttle to save rpm below 80% thrust. Slowly begin to rotate the nozzles. Keep your AoA betwen +5/-5° -
For me after the flir got that green filter it was useless gecause is couldnt see anything anymore. Its one blurry green picture. Same with the Mavs, Dmt and TGP feed but not as bad as the flir

It was a Harrier Gr.9 cockpit. Cockpit: http://www.everettaero.com/GR9%20Sim.04.jpg Source: http://www.everettaero.com/harrierGR9sim.html

Thats the AV8B Nightattack and not the II plus you are showing. Im not able to find the picture again because google pictures is flooded with razbams av8b NA xD It might have been a Harrier GR if they have the same exact cockpit.
-
You can still select and use more weapons if you use the storeselectorebuttons on the armamentpanel. I dont know if it is a bug or a feature but it works with no problems except that errormessage in the top right corner of your monitor.

Does Thrustmaster MFD's work for the Harrier
Soundwave197 replied to uscstaylor's topic in AV-8B N/A
They work withno problem. But you cant change the assigned buttons ingame because they are coded with a seperate file you can find in "AV8B > input > Joystick > F16MFD (path is just partially correct, im not at home) I actually never tried the 4 decrease/increase buttons on each unit if they do anything. -
The AV8B II plus has a rotary for a MAW system in the cockpit where the RWR, EXP and ECM rotarys are and sensores around the airframe.
-
They enabled slewing in the latest update but the date you are using is befor the update. I bet thats why its not working. You can try to use the 2 lines in the newest unmodified joystick.lua and put it in the modified old joystick.lua but you have to delete the old 2 lines. they should be at the last few lines. its called "--HOTAS TDC"
-
Hi, can someone put together the lines for RWR, EXP, ECM as axis and each position of that rotary switch on the fuelpanel? I wasnt able to find the ID's in all the configs to do it myself.

Nothing wrong with that but buttons with short travel feel cheap for me. Im used to 3-5mm travel because all of my gamepads, joysticks, controller etc have that travel and my 3 joysticks with 0,5-1mm travel died after a year. I have to mean it to press the button. Thats what i want to say. edit: wait, i have the Gladiator II Pro, does it have the same buttons like the MCG? sadly i really dont like the feel of them. The travel betwen released, travel to activation and fully pressed is to short for my taste. it takes more effort to rapidly press it beecause i have to compleatly release the button befor i can press it again. with long travel i can keep it partially pushed. edit nr2: I should have mentioned i have only the Glad. II Pro base and instead of the KG12 i got the TM-adapter. So i only know how the Buttons on the base feel.
-
Are you in germany? What did you payed total if so? I dont want to get surprised by import fees etc. Some had to pay fees and some didnt. I wanted the MCG mainly for the av8b and thats why i got the Glad. Pro II in the first place but im actually quiet happy with the warthog on the Glad. Pro II. I heared the buttons have a really short travel and my biggest concern is it will feel cheap like every other 0815 stick with microswitches.

I have read a offical post somewhere in a VKB thread on this forum that they already send a full container with mcg's and more for the EU store. Lets see how true that was... Sadly the seller on Aliexpress is out of stock

After long flights i noticed the engine wont go over 70% thrust on the ENG page but you can get full thrust again if you turn JPTL to off. But after that you will need a new engine. Also the CMBT button beneath the H²O switch will give you 3-5% more thrust.
-
Hi, i just found a little button with the name "CMBT Thrust Button" right beneath the H²O-switch. I couldnt find anything in the Pocket guide about that except that panel is called "Combat/Water Panel". Is it like a afterburner or something?

Hi, since i first tried bombing i have no clue how the AUTO mode works and how i have to fly to hit my targets. I had no problem with CCIP/CCRP in the A-10C but in the AV8B its compleatly different. With CCIP from 5000feet i hit my targets 9/10 but in AUTO not a single hit above 200 feet. That ASL line always wanders to the right, left and rotates. Is this still WIP? because in the A-10C i have two vertical lines i have to put on top of each other and i can clearly see if i have to roll to the right or to the left.

Hotas Warthog Button Map for AV-8B
Soundwave197 replied to Mr_Burns's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thats how i set it up -
Somewhere on this forum i read the av8b can mount them but they where never used. Thats why they are not modeled in dcs
-
Thats how i use it. I have my Warthog stick on the VKB Gladiator and a few more buttons and a slider for zoom.

No picture but a really short video! ${1} Original link if the embedded video isnt working:

I own a Harrier GR1 and Razbarms AV 8B for FSX and the VTOL and i was really disapointed how bad the VTOL was. It looks like the plane is rendered with 5 FPS while the sim running at 60 But i also have a MV-22 with VTOL and is works like a dream. Smooth transition from FF to hover. And the best part is its free and gets regular updates.

because the nozzles are hidden under the wing and the cold nozzle blows cold air in the stream of hot air from the hot nozzle behind it.

DCSFlightpanels (DCSFP) thread. Saitek Pro Flight Panels & DCS

They have a pretty good software for the yoke. A bit disapointing they didnt include the Panels to configurate them with it. They did a driver for X-Plane and i dont think they can ignore DCS forever. -

I just found out the PZ69 does not support key emulating. Or disable it by default but let the user choose if he wants to use experimental features. Maybe it works, maybe it doesnt. edit: 28.10.17 My Autopilot Panel just froze and found out the alt and vs isnt changing if i turn the mode knob. If its hard coded it has to be on the microcontroller inself -

Thanks, similar to that was my first try but i dumped it because all leds will turn green in sync instead of waiting for the gear. I have read a few pages back FIP's work somehow but in one of the latest patchnotes was "FIP support removed" if i remember correct. Was this unstable or broken? Sorry if i spam you with questions, i really like the idea of this tool. I have to lern coding. Maybe i find a broken auto panel for a few bucks and trow a arduino in. I made a small 3x12button radio panel out of a old saitek yoke. -

I only found heading and altitude. Are the little led's of the AP buttons controllable? Do short push and long push work? For a example: HDG, NAV, IAS, ALT, VS short press will toggle MWS JMR RWR DISP, Button LED on and off Long press will go to the Menu and lets the Button LED flash. In a earlier profile i got the Gear-LED to stay off if the gear is retracted, go to red if the gear is moving and get green if the gear is deployed but i somehow fail to tell the led's to go dark if the gear is in. thats how far i got: Green | GEAR_N_SAFE | Equals | 1 Red | GEAR_N_SAFE | Equals | 0 pretty basic D:
