Actually the F-14B has a higher thrust to weight ratio than the D since it has the same engines and is lighter.

I bet someone is going to create one at some point. What's missing is a Miramar map for it to be possible.

I don't think this is going anywhere and certainly not anywhere helpful. In Raijin's defence I think there is some criticism to be had with the vagueness of the release date when early access became available as a hard date like March 21st wouldn't lead to the misinterpretation that has happened. On the other hand though I don't think Heatblur did it to be misleading. The way I see it they were hoping to release it in 2018 but for various reasons like bugs and what not they decided it was not the best choice. Attacking them for being misleading seems a bit over the top for me as from what I've seen from them they do outstanding work and push the bar in terms of the quality of their modules and the included content(which doesn't really help with development time). They seem like a passionate team that really cares about this community and for that reason I personally am willing to look past the minor issues.

DCS World - F-14 - The wait is almost over (Teaser)
Lieuie replied to Jabbers_'s topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Well, at least we got a glimpse of the Forrestal class carriers. -
From what I understand it means what their wishes are, meaning that if the quality is not up to par they wouldn't want to release it.
-
You are going to get a TFR with the F-16.
-
It's also important to note that not only do you have to be quick to respond to any deviations from the desired course but you have to anticipate what the aircraft will do before it happens. And obviously you have to be delicate with the controls so as not to overcorrect. Moreover if it's getting out of hand stop and try again. Trying to fight with the plane won't get you very far. If the takeoff doesn't start well it probably won't end well.

I would say it's similar to how AI works in modern aircraft just without the missiles.

IFF is not complete yet so sometimes that will happen.

You have to build to a crescendo.:pilotfly:

If you define winter astronomically it ends March 21 but even if you don't agree with it at least wait until the end of February before complaining. Also I am willing to wait a couple more weeks if it means having a good experience. It's similar with the Hornet when people complained about it being late and when it was released everyone complained that it had many bugs and most of the systems like the radar were not complete. Unfortunately we can't have our cake and eat it too and Heatblur has decided that quality comes first as they want to make a great first impression and I can understand where they come from.

The 109 and 190 are available as AI even if you don't buy the WWII assets pack.
-
Now that's something interesting. As much as I would love for it to be a Pacific Theater map I higly doubt it since we don't have any planes for it yet, not to mention AI units in both air and ground. I also thought it might be a map on the Russian front but we are missing planes for that as well. North Africa could be possible or maybe Malta.

I don't think that the same people who work on the modules work on the rest of the game as well.

Since December 21st seems unlikely what's the next historical date for the Tomcat? In all honesty though you are doing amazing work and deserve our respect for your unwaivering commitment to quality, if not for anything else. You guys are trying to raise the bar be it through the technologies implemented, state of the early access release or even the content available with every module. I think that we can clearly see that you are pationate about your work and the whole community. Thank you guys for your great work and although it's going to be tough to keep our calm in this last straight (especially when the first videos arrive) we will try. The hungrier you are the better food tastes, right?

I missed you guys.

* DCS: F-14 Development Update! Scan, Lock, Fire! *
Lieuie replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I just noticed it has been more than a year since this was posted. Time sure flies. -
Check the module manager to see if it is installed. Is the Caucasus map shown in there? Also yes the F-14 will have a fully interactive cockpit. Check Heatblur's stream and you will notice it. See at about 54 minutes.

Thank you very much. -
What about the Tomcat? Sure it's not out yet but it's pretty close now and while A2G wasn't it's main role it is definitely more capable than the F-5. Also I think that the Tomcat will be more of a challenge to become proficient mainly because of its flight dynamics. The systems interfaces should be similar to the F-5 meaning you won't have to dig into MFD pages to find what you want but rather have actual buttons which should make it feel more familiar. Moreover the existence of a RIO will help reduce the workload and help you focus on flying the plane. However you might not want that but instead learn how to operate the systems yield in which case you could also try being the RIO which will help you learn how to operate the systems without having to worry about flying the plane, helping you to focus better. Although you are going to need a friend in the front seat. Furthermore the Persian Gulf map and the Tomcat go together like bread and butter in case you choose that map.

I would suggest the Persian Gulf. I think it's a more interesting map capable of running more scenarios than the Nevada map.
