TWCS and Nyogel 767A - jerky rapid motion issue
MoToad replied to mtpiperpilot's topic in Thrustmaster
Nope. There's only one WD40. And after reading this I just pulled the TWCS apart and gave it a good shot. Not a lot of improvement. But some. I do have a product in the mail that hopefully will fix the problem, tho. https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/885326705/impulse-slider-thrustmaster-t16000m?transaction_id=2270700278&campaign_label=shipping_notification_boe_convourl_treatment&utm_source=transactional&utm_campaign=shipping_notification_boe_convourl_treatment_010170_433263510924_0_0&utm_medium=email&utm_content=&email_sent=1611242954&euid=_U0kUizLcTYqHNuWpzqd72T6Cnn3&eaid=1004675018068&x_eaid=bc5b310294 Hopefully it works. -
Device Profile for P-47 and T.16000M HOTAS
MoToad replied to pr0xyfl00d3r's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I also have the TM16000m and have been fiddling with setups for my two(so far)prop planes. P51D and P47D. There are a few differences between these two but mostly the same. I will be getting into the Spit and FW down the road a piece and am hoping there are more similarities. I have a template for the T16000 and will put in the appropriate manes to the appropriate buttons when done. I won't be sold on these positionings until I put them to the test and any better ideas will most def be welcome. MoToad -
I wonder if it has been upgraded to full realistic sound. In that is a large rotary gun like that, if it fires at the millisecond you pull the trigger, has to spin up and the first number of rounds may be slower.
-
Using FTnoir and I have a need to pop in and out of the running game. DCS and only DCS will not let me do this hitting the Windows key. I've got it sorted in that I have to use 'Windowed' setting and put the game at a much lower resolution. Knocked down to like 1080. Is there any other way around this as I would much rather play at 1600 or higher.
-
K.Got it sorted. For some reason the gun gave a slower sound for a short trigger pul. But when held for two second burst the ol brrrrrrt was there. Or maybe it was just me. I am not using head tracking for training. Still sorting FTnoir.

Just took my A10C II up for the first time for gun training. So, the first thing I noticed was I couldn't read any of the lower right and left on the hud. Is there an adjustment? Next there was no helmet hud. Is this just training? Then when I let the gun rip, there was no rip. Just something that sounded like a burp gun. Def not a BRRRRIP gun.

Has anyone successfully mapped this in A10C controls because it wont let me input slewing. If it's not for that, what's it for?
-
Not sure what I am doing wrong here. Been a few years since I've played the game. With my TM16000M stick and throttle I plugged them in, went to settings, controller and they are there but I don't get any response trying to input, say, the rudder which I want as my twist grip. (No peddles). It seem to only allow group settings and won't let me modify. What am I doing wrong?

Fixed! Put in a ticket and was told to shut down my firewall and use VPN, which I have. It was just not on. So, did that and lo and behold.

Of course it happened again. autoupdate_log.txt

As my Steam install works, my question was can I copy my bought and paid for planes the other way? Ie; from DCS World to Steam DCS World? Edit; OK. just found what I assume is the answer to this question. It's a one way street. I have the Hawg C, the Mustang and Flaming Cliffs 3 on the standalone and I'm not throwing them away. So I have begun the install again with a new updater which I am pretty sure is the same one I downloaded the other day. the speed is about 3.5 mbps as before so I am assuming the same result. I deleted everything I could find pertaining to the other tries. And I just saw your reply come in Flappy. Thx. When it fails, there is a log on the screen but when I click it, it dissapears. Hopefully I can find and post it.

I have been out of the game for a couple of years. Having tried to reinstall the game three times with a process that takes all day, it has failed only to start over. I do have a steam account and installed with that which too a little less time only to find I had no option to reinstall my previously purchased planes. So first, is this any way possible? And second, if I am forced to install DCS World original, How do I fix the download problem? Oh ya, third would using Bittorrent be faster?

TrackIR and EDTracker paired
MoToad replied to ZQuickSilverZ's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I am now an Edtracker fan. Glad to throw away my clip and camera. Not bothered by 4 degrees at all. And if u r u can fake it. Will be interested to see how u can make that setup work, tho. -
Is yours wireless? Mines wireless.Of course you hit reset view while holding your head still. Switch on? Unplugged and replugged? Reinstalled software? Latest software? That's all I can think of. I have had email exchanges with the Ed folks. They are pretty quick to respond. 8 hr time diff for me.

OK. This is just weird. Just came back from rechecking everything. As I said, I used Ed with DCS A10C first. And after discovering and fixing the xyz axis mapped to my joystick(Ed emulates your joystick) it worked fine. IL2 needed opentrack and is now fine after that install. Now when I checked my DCS settings There is a track IR column with trackir roll pitch yaw and x y and z settings mapped. I ran the game without opentrack started and nothing. With opentrack all is good. Besides opentrack is probably a better option. Just wonder why it worked without it in the first place. As for the headband, I tried that but found it slipping easily due to too much hair. So I went to Radio Shack and bought a 10 dollar pair of headphones with easily removable ear pieces. Just have a nice wide band now (in girly blue)that Ed mounts solidly to. Make sure you do the initial calibration with it flat on you desk, screws down, away from magnetics and you'll be fine.

It works without opentrack on dcs. IL2 and others u need opentrack.

I found my head flying the plane. Without mapping anything. It was being a joystick. Went back to settings and cleared those oddly autoinstalled settings, rebooted and restarted and it was all good.

I'm already there with the i7 and see no performance hit. But then I'm half blind these days so maybe it doesn't matter.

Kinda baffed here. Setting up my Edtracker and I need to go to desktop to make adjustments. Have to quit every time. I have unchecked full screen and when I hit alt ent I get a black screen for a few seconds and then the the game again. Checked or unchecked it does the same thing. I thought windowed was a smaller game screen on top of your desktop. Or is it something I should set on my computer?

Headtracking hardware ideas? Anyone?
MoToad replied to Aluminum Donkey's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Looks like my Ed is now working flawlessly in DCS. Just have to get used to it. Nice to have the C hat on stick freed up for trim. No 6 degrees but I will probably set up the psudo6 in time. Like I said, the pinky wheel on throttle is a great zoom for me. On IL2 BOS it is another matter. I have only horizontal movement and it persists in not taking the vertical axis. Donot know why. May have to use open track with it. Am over there talking with them. -
Headtracking hardware ideas? Anyone?
MoToad replied to Aluminum Donkey's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
WR, I have seen those edtracker vids and have basically set up that way first. Guess I am looking for an explanation as to what scaling and smoothing is. I am hoping to get my cockpit setup running with my actual head movement kept to a minimum. 20 degrees in any direction would be nice. And a nice non jerky flow. -
Headtracking hardware ideas? Anyone?
MoToad replied to Aluminum Donkey's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Just received my Edtracker Pro wireless. Install was a breeze. works without any additional software. Jumped in to find my head was steering the aircraft. Obviously as it works off the joystick. Cleared that and set my x and y axis. I don't find zoom a problem at all as up until now I have it mapped to my pinky wheel on my TM16000 throttle and that's what I am using. No lag or locking all is smooth. I am a long way from having it properly set up, (way too much head movement on my part) as I have never head tracked before. No drift or anything like that. I only wish there was a tutorial on youtube for proper setup for A10c.
