Who would be interest in a Hard Copy Manual?
Ocelotunit replied to Freeroamer's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
I got a paperback copy of the A-10C manual from Lulu for about £30. I've since printed all of Chucks Guides at Doxdirect for about £10 a pop. A lot of places won't touch anything over 400 pages unfortunately. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk -
2021 (and earlier) DCS Newsletter Discussion Thread
Ocelotunit replied to NineLine's topic in DCS 2.9
You understand wrong. They've explained it plenty of times, the Hornet has its own team, WW2 aircraft have their own team, terrains have their own team. It's taken a long time because they got to a certain point and new information came to light which allowed them to make a more modern version so they had to basically start again. If you have been following the mini updates, you'd know how crazy complex this aircraft will be. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk -
The FLIR system in DCS is not representative of real FLIR, the real one would be much easier to see! Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

Viggen in the RAF? It's more likely than you think!
Ocelotunit replied to Farks's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Super interesting! What is the reasoning behind the UK constantly wanting to change the engines in aircraft? It seems to rarely be successful (AW AH-1 Apache). Maybe to ensure British manufacturers are making British things? Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk -
Oh yeah absolutely, but I'm used to being heads down for ages in the A-10C, I guess I've got into a bad habit! Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

Absolutely loving the Harrier, gotta say though, my most anticipated feature is the Altitude Hold. Definitely been searching for a target in the TGP, looked up to the HUD and immediately flown into a hill on more than one occasion. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

I think we should pay for the new CAUCASUS????
Ocelotunit replied to Psicodreamics's topic in DCS: Caucasus
I would be happy to pay £500 per module - OP, probably. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk -

How good is the ground radar for tanks online?
Ocelotunit replied to TonyStovepipe's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
The radar in the Viggen really isn't designed for finding targets on the ground, it's for finding ships at sea and terrain avoidance. The air to ground game revolves around carefully planned waypoints (there's a good program a guy on the forums made for this). Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk -
Aim-9L I think and gun pods. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

DCS AV-8B N/A Night Attack doing Night attack?
Ocelotunit replied to OnlyforDCS's topic in AV-8B N/A
I've done a few strike missions in the dark, FLIR on the HUD and NVGs when looking around. It works really well for picking up targets on 2.2. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk -
This is seriously wild and unfounded speculation. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

Hi, I don't mean to be rude but if you want a gamey flying game why not play one that doesn't put such a massive emphasis on realism? These developers go to extraordinary lengths to make all the systems in these aircraft as similar to the real thing as possible. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

Through The Inferno (Dynamic DCS) - Public US Server
Ocelotunit replied to deadlyfishes's topic in Multiplayer
I frequent this server on most days, while learning the Harrier, I strayed onto the runway and got three warnings in very quick succession telling me to turn around and return to the taxiway, these warnings didn't give me time to react and I was kicked from the server. I now can't join the server without being kicked after a few minutes. Will I ever be able play again? Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk -
That question has been answered so many times in this very thread. Search your controls for NWS. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

Had a great time flying the Night Attack for a few hours today, quick and easy to start up, as a long time A-10C flyer the menus confuse me but that won't last long, plenty of successful takeoffs but not so many landings :D Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

Has anyone figured out the autopilot? I put on the altitude hold but nothing seems to happen. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

2.1 is an Alpha version, updates and new modules always come after beta and release branch, really don't see why so many people don't understand this. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

It's absolutely your choice to move away from the release version of the game but the overwhelming majority of players only use that version. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

Well it would be a more realistic way of planning a flight, usually waypoints and targets are on the data cartridge which is composed on a computer before the flight and not squinting at a map in the cockpit trying to discern coordinates of where you think a target might be and then inputting them one line at a time. Having the mission planner would add a great deal of depth to multiplayer. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk
