What A-10c knowledge is applicable to be operating the F-18c?
Ocelotunit replied to sc_neo's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
Yeah I understand that it's possible to plot target points etc, but irl shouldn't that stuff be on the data cartridge which is done in mission planning? Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk -

But even still, GPS guided bombs are usually used on a pre-defined target, doing this with LGBs and a JTAC would be great (and will be). Just a wee bit of preflight planning would be amazing and negate the need for all these workarounds. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk -

Yeah but at the same time, a Hornet doesn't really go out without knowing what and where it's going to hit unless it's on call CAS. Being able to set targets waypoints before taking off would be amazing, I don't see how dropping 4 JDAMs in quick succession on 4 nearby target points would work without some sort of prior planning tool. Mission planner for multiplayer would solve this, I can't imagine it would be too difficult to implement either. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk -
Just posting some stuff that has seriously upped the hype for the Hornet (as if it wasn't already) For some reason embedding this isn't working. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOHYVUZUpYA This is one of the most recent videos I've seen of F/A-18C's operating from a carrier, lots of good traps, refuelling and strikes. Hornets Over Kuwait by Jay A. Stout Currently reading this, seems pretty good so far, will update when I'm done. Amazon Link Bogeys and Bandits: The Making of a Fighter Pilot by Robert Gandt Quite enjoyed this one although its more about the pilots and their backgrounds which I found less interesting than a war diary type of book but still worth checking out. Amazon Link Haven't found too many books by Hornet pilots, anyone got any others to recommend?

Yeah, similar to the view through the EP-13 sights on the viggen, it has a really cool distorted effect from the camera. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

The BMS harrier is not an accurate simulation. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

Will there be a patch today? Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

I'm sure it will be available in steam, but probably a long time after the stand alone version as early access modules aren't available on steam. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

Does the Hornet use an HTM (HARM targeting pod)? Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

Oh no doubt, I was sorta saying it in jest but also secretly hoping it would happen. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

Prevents glare as far as I'm aware, certainly the reason you get polarised sunglasses and camera lenses. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

No, it's a polarised film on the glass actually. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

DCS: F-14A/A+/B by Heatblur Simulations coming to DCS World!

I think he was talking about the F/A-18c ie Aim-9x and Amraam. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk -
A-10C rolling with engines idle on start up.
Ocelotunit replied to Ocelotunit's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
So it rolls on idle in real life? That seems like a really serious design flaw haha. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk -
During start up on 2.1, the hog starts rolling on the taxiway even though the engines are idle. Anyone else having this issue? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Probably because they're still working on it? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Just say rifle to yourself. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

I think it would be fine with an audio cue such as the clunk the viggen afterburner makes at each stage. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Would the friction slider on the TM Warthog be suitable for changing the nozzle angles? Or would you need something more incremental? Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

My prediction is that it may come today or next week but it'll still be a separate build from 2.0. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

If you own the A-10C, you can fly it on any terrain. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk

Closest Personal Encounter with Military Aircraft
Ocelotunit replied to frixon28's topic in Chit-Chat
I live in an area of the Scottish Highlands that is frequented by RAF Typhoons, Tornados, A400s, Hawks and C-130s. And less frequent but equally awesome are the F-15Es & Cs that fly ludicrously low over my village and scare the crap out of the old folk. I have heard (possibly falsely) that they practice low level strikes on the bridge here. Sent from my Moto G (4) using Tapatalk
