sure I can do that!

Hey Rudel! Kola map ... *ufffff* ... how long ... ??? No news, no forum, no nothing ... Anyway, in the meanwhile we are going to stay here to polish up our beloved bird ...

Hey guys! I reworked the section in the RC2.1 slightly to make it more clearly. Please look at the screenshot and go through the text. If you have any comments/suggestions, please leave them right here .... thanks! null

Now, after having access to my rig again, I figured out that the reference button works on ground (at least for what I consider it to be used). After line-up on RWY07, I entered 0740 (which is 074.0°) into BANA GRÄNS, which is the true heading of the runway center line. This was then shown satisfactorily OK on both the HUD and the ROSE. Then I mis-aligned the aircraft just a bit, and pressed the REF button, with the consequence of the ROSE turning from the current true heading to the entered runway heading of 074. Seems to work, does it? See attached track. Steps to reproduce: Use current OB, MT, Caucaus, single aircraft, out of ME Hot spawn on ground with B0 as starting base Manually entered coords of Kutaisi for LS Manually entered 0740 for BANA GRÄNS (this was somehow necessary two times, don't know what I did wrong ... ). edit: I did a second run, this time with using 9014 as LS, then bad line-up, then REF button > works OK too, see attached track _2.trk 2023-05-02_AJS37_Reference_button_works.trk 2023-05-02_AJS37_Reference_button_works_2.trk

YOU ARE CRAZY. But I love you man!

Hey Snappy! Was it with MT or ST version?

Just to confirm... did the compass rose NOT show the correct runway heading at that very moment before pressing the REF button? I think this step - in DCS - has never been necessary, because - just my perception - the HUD and the compass rose always showed the correct heading once BANA / GRÄNS was used to manually select the runway heading (and btw. not forgetting about the 2 minutes time window before lineup ON the runway). I can't confirm your experiences, because I never used the REF button on the runway. But I will try this once I have access to my rig. As far as I can remember my fellow mate Quigon sometimes used the REF button, maybe he can tell us about his experiences meanwhile.

Hey widen76! Thanks for sharing your stories! I always think of the high risk the guys were exposed when flying low ... birds, model planes, etc ... My experiences with the Viggen were far less specatucular, but nonetheless impressive. I visited litterally every Airpower event in Austria, so starting with - I guess - 2000, I saw many displays. My favourites were from 2000 (https://youtu.be/V2IMdFkK3O0?t=826) and 2003 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIg7C2EWS8k), they flew a bit more aggressive than the historic versions of today. Nevertheless, the Viggen - for me - is still the most impressive aircraft of all times. I hope HB finds some more time to take care about their module ...

I would like to test 2.0, currently I can only try it without higher details. What I want to know is if the new 2.0 runs on my system satisfactorily before buying, but without a trial I cannot perform a real test. Bad decision not to publish 2.0 as trial IMHO.

Hey Mike! Tested this on OB 2.8.4.39313 (MT): - Cold & dark, ramp - Blew canopy via canopy jettison switch - Repaired aircraft - Canopy became OK again - Lever was moved back to "middle" position, but then the mouse cursor must be used in the most forward position (position "close") in order to operate the canopy again 2023-04-26_AJS37_Canopy_repair_slight_issue.trk

LOL ... "nerdiest" thing is by far the best description I have heard until today for what you have done on the SFI, and I have to agree when looking at the 600 pages (sorry ... its just 598 pages...) In fact this term fits perfectly to what I did with the RC2, which I re-built from scratch. Thinking about this, I have no idea what got me sit down for weeks to make it as perfect as possible, but it must have something to do with the love I feel for the module. I don't know why HB didn't include it, maybe they are just super busy ... or they don't like it ... who knows.

You are a hero to me. Period. Thank you so much for doing such an exhausting job...

NTTR MAP WRONG WEIRD TEXTURE COLOR TINT
TOViper replied to GumidekCZ's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
This was just a very cheap trick by taking out the red color by about 10% and the green by about 5% and then using a "Histogram adjustment" for luminance on IN and OUT. I don't have any clue about what I was doing in my little old picture tool of the year 1998, but somehow it worked pretty well. In fact I didn't change any of the textures, so this is just a filter thing, no replacement was made. -
in the file imgui.ini you find the coordinates [Window][Stats] Pos=358,506 Size=1355,253 Collapsed=1 [Window][###FPS] Pos=1001,329 Size=224,277 Collapsed=1

Micro-stuttering / hitch & Frametime spikes issue
TOViper replied to Rachmaninoff's topic in Game Performance Bugs
you have to click on NEXT PAGE Saw it at second glance too ... -
Have you tried other VR applications like FS2020 or Falcon 4.0 the forbidden simulation? I use all of them, and DCS is BY FAR not the worst of all these; on my rigs FS2020 is. For FS2020 I have absolutely no chance of getting stable 45, even with choosing LOW or OFF for all settings. DCS offers some items to be increased for better rendering/picture quality. I hear you, and I agree with you, but I think ED is to continue optimizing DCS. But it will take time I guess ... even more with the new MT core programming... What we should not forget is that some features came up during the last 24 months ... clouds (now moving), wake turbulence, lighting, etc. So to compare the versions is a bit hard I think ...

NTTR MAP WRONG WEIRD TEXTURE COLOR TINT
TOViper replied to GumidekCZ's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
Got it. The modification of my picture was simple, thus I consider changing the textures coming with NTTR and having this as a MOD to the installation. Currently I have no idea of how to do this, but who knows ... maybe I find a minute or two in the next weeks. But you are right, the texture colors ARE FAR OFF! -

I agree with you in some points, but regarding your statement above we should not forget that we never know which software on computers of such users is running besides DCS. Background services, trillions of small tools coming up after system reboot making the "user experience" as good as possible ... forgetting about that every tool uses system resources. And then there is Windows Update ... pfffff. On this side it would be necessary to check each and every system on its own by going through a detailed checklist/trouble-shooting list to get rid of software and configuration problems that is conflicting with high performance. If I may talk about my situation here, it took a long while to get my two rigs going, but now they run satisfactorily. I used several checklists during the last weeks, and to be honest: yeah, there were some issues which I got rid of which I never thought of before. On one rig I need turbo mode like a flower needs water, on my other rig i leave it turned off. Explanation: I have no fucking clue. What I can say for sure is that VR performance is PITA, but seeking for the stable 45 was not that complicate, but indeed required some time. Sorry to work against, but his statement is simply wrong. I had the choice: 22fps and stuttering with Turbo OFF or stable 45 fps without stuttering and Turbo ON. So to say "in no way it is required" is unfortunately far off and not helping anyone.

This was reported earlier, and should be in the bug tracker already: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/319975-viggen-lights/?do=findComment&comment=5159891
