  1. Since most of you mentioned the GTX 660 or the GTX 760, I guess I could go for something in that range..(..with lots of financial sacrifices on my part I assume..) I'm just aiming for 30-50 fps.. in a single player mission (not competitive enough for multiplayer and my connection is slow) with not much AI objects or units moving around.. Basically I'd just like to shoot down things with the F-15 and perhaps the Su-27.. As for Power Supply Unit, my current one I think is rated around 700 watts.. and indeed.. I'm NO-GO for SLI Now I'm really starting to feel why it sucks to be born and live in a third world country..
  2. OK, Lets say I'd upgrade my VGA to GTX660.. I'm wondering if my Motherboard... the ASUS H61M-E, can handle the new hardware.. For sure, I'll need to upgrade my power supply unit too..
  3. ..before I even think of plunking down my money online for Flaming Cliffs 3 Module.. What needs to be upgraded in my PC specs? ASUS H61M-E i5-3470 Nvidia GeForce GT630 Patriot 8GB of DDR3 RAM (4GB x 2 pcs) 500GB HDD Windows 8.1 SL 64bit I'll honestly say that in DCS world with the Su-25T, my FPS is crawling below 30 FPS even in clear weather... and it's obvious that something's not up for DCS World.. It's far from the 60+ fps I enjoyed in Flaming Cliffs 1 in the past.. I'm starting to think that DCS World perhaps, is too much for a 3rd World Monkey like me.. since I rarely see those high performance hardware, even if I find one it'll be over priced.. == Although If you say, the whole thing... I might as well forget about DCS World all together Pity I just wanted to revert back to Flaming Cliffs 1.12b but because of that Starforce Thing, I'm unable to run the freakin game in Windows 8... If that's the case,.. I guess it was nice knowing Eagle Dynamics, Flaming Cliffs and it's F-15 Eagle.. Time to forget all about this Modern Air Combat thing and move on in my life..
  4. Windows 8 SL 64bit.. It's inevitable.. or at least, no one sells Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit anymore in my neck of woods..
  5. Is this the same module http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=119545 announced by Wags?
  6. Pardon the stupid question (although I believe there are no such things as stupid questions.. only stupid answers..) DCS: Flaming Cliffs 3 is different from Lock On Flaming Cliffs right? and that DCS: Flaming Cliffs 3 is not yet released? I'm now preparing my new Rig for DCS: FC3, perhaps a RAM upgrade to bring it up to 8GB..
  7. -Flying Penguin: My internet connection sucks, we don't have ultra fast fiber optic lines. just fearing broken downloads or something.. and of course, the fears of hacking, credit card number being compromised... etc. -Krebs20: Prepaid Cards? How does this differ from a usual credit card? I haven't seen one actually.. or at least here in the Phils..
  8. -HiJack: I see, thanks for answering my questions ^^ == So, judging from the posts here, It's seems that everyone can download any DCS Module and what people are actually paying for are activation keys? I'll honestly say, that I'm still uncomfortable with online/digital purchase and have never tried it before... I'd rather buy something that is tangible like a boxed version of a PC Game or so... don't care how long the shipping would take... as long as i can touch the item I wanted. I guess this is the end of Lock On for me... Unless I could convince the people in our house to let my use my Visa Card to buy activation keys for DCS Modules.. which is unlikely..
  9. It's been long time since I last got here.. so pardon my very noobish questions.. Just confirming... So DCS World is a free software? (perhaps a free simulator of the Su-25T..) and that the Modules we have here like P-51, FC3, etc.. are the ones for sale right? ...with this kind of development, Eagle Dynamics won't be selling any boxed versions of their software anymore? and that the only way to obtain a DCS Module is through the online shop? What would happen.. say I bought FC3 Module then I lost my PC for some reasons.. The software I paid for is lost forever and that I need to "Re-buy" again? Sorry for these noob queries, I'm just a monkey from a Third World Country.. ;)
  10. No one? oh well....
  11. A very off topic one. Can anyone who can speak and write in russian translate this phrase into cyrillic? "Different Countries, Different Cultures, One nation." Thanks for any help or translation.
  12. It's been a long time since I last got here.. so FC3, Nevada map, Ground support mod, another US Fixed Wing (Hope it's an F-15 or perhaps F/A-18 ) and now a P-51 Mustang? ...I'll just take that as a positive sign about ED expanding.. ^^; Although I'll say Warbirds aren't really my cup of tea.. I'll continue to wait for that next DCS Modern Fixed Wing sim ^^ Anyway, ED seems to be doing well these days ^
  13. I knew it.. no one has this problem.. and I will just figure this on my own.. I guess I'll just see you guys again by the time DCS F-XX (Enter any number) gets a 100% worldwide release without a hitch about copyrights .. thus having a better chance being sold in some far off place where online purchases and digital downloads are not that in.... provided my PC could run it... ciao~
  14. I know that this is moot and that I may no longer get support but: Did any of you people experienced an odd problem in the past wherein Lock On 1.12b hangs infinitely when editing ground vehicles' waypoints? This happens when the waypoints are set to "On Road" thus following the roadways on the map. Lock On becomes so unresponsive that I have to "hard reset" my whole computer.. at this rate, the game could destroy my PC~~ I've already reinstalled Lock On 1.12b but the problem still occurs.. Guess the work around is to not add ground vehicles at all or have their waypoints set to "Off Road".... Thanks for any help~ Edit: It doesn't seem to be a crash but rather Lock On itself hangs.. being unresponsive and all. Also, my error logs don't record anything...
  15. Never knew MiGs can be used to refrigerate your foods at home or something... LoL.. Just ignore me.. And also, why MiGs when there are Sukhoi aircraft in the choices? Anyway, Su-30 for me.. I'm fond of bigger aircraft now. Want to make this a reality? Maybe convince the airforces using these planes to invest their desktop simulator/trainer development to ED and we'll probably have a chance of getting DCS:Flanker, Fulcrum or whatever they are..
  16. During daytime missions however, there are no CTDs at all... The funny thing about this crash is that, it only seems to occur during night missions... Well, since most of you people are in FC2 now.. I guess I should just assume I'm on my own now, trying to figure out this problem..... As for the RAM upgrade, My wallet is not yet prepared for it.. but I know 2 Gig is indeed mandatory.. for FC2 that is.. not for FC1... but I guess the newer model is involved...
  17. I'm having doubts that this is caused by RAM deficiency. Way back then, I was playing flaming cliffs 1.12b with only 512mb of RAM.. much slower than most but pretty playable.. I rarely have CTDs.. If it does, it only occurs when i'm playing too long. Also it says the "msvcrt.dll" causes the problem.... This string of crashes just occurred recently.. when i began using the newer F-15 model... perhaps that model somehow screws up how the game runs or something?
  18. This a really annoying crash that happens once i'm on final approach on anapa at night.... It's just so f*cking frustrating.... because randomly occurs once i'm few moment from landing.. Hope someone could help... Flaming Cliffs 1.12b is my only fix since i'm unable to upgrade yet into FC2... My specs Dual Core 1.8 ghz each 9500gt Nvidia 1 GB 1gb of RAM Windows XP SP2 Perhaps my computer is a loser much to run with Lock on with Gys F-15 model at 32 bit.. because I don't recall having crashes like these when i'm still using the Walmis F-15... == Error report 10/5/2010 17:24 V512091930 Dispatcher: track version = 512091930 Dispatcher: initial random seed = 824703 Dispatcher: apply random seed = 824703 Cosmos: Mission date assigned - Year:2005, Month:1, Day:1 DXDefTexture: failed to load samara-red.bmp, D3DXERR_INVALIDDATA. Perhaps I should give up for now and wait till i get FC2 maybe............................
  19. Just sharing an opinion on the matter since my statements might be of little to no values.. In FC1, I rarely check the airspeed at all.. Though i can see my speeds are around 135-140 when most of my missiles have been launched and have an empty centerline fuel tank.. (yes, I take them home with me most of the time ^^) Somewhat similar to what Mower said, I'm just looking for the AoA values.. somewhere around 6-8 units of AoA while on final approach in that indicator at the lower left side of the HUD in flaps full config... (this if Flamming Cliffs 1.12b..) Landing speeds vary based on your total weight ideally (fuel left + amount of unused weapons..) I have no idea if this can still be applied in FC2 though.. will know once i get my hard boxed copy.. I just go by some saying, fly the "simulated aircraft" based on its given "flight model" in-game, not by what it does or should in Real Life. We all know computer simulation flight models might have some differences against Real World aircraft.. every game engine has it's limits ;)
  20. My GPU died, causing an unexpected upgrade... Now I get some pretty decent fps in overcast ^^;
  21. I saw this plane once in NAIA's cargo ramp (wonder what it was carrying though..) For sure it was huge^ It had a the distinct Volga-Denpr livery.

  24. Why does Bandai Namco still don't realize the potential of PC? It has more room for customizations and such.. I'm quite interested in the Ace Combat series.. and wanted to literally spamraam the skies using an F-15E "Chihaya" or some other Idol master jet :D .. oh wait, I can make one for Lock On... but i suck at skinning.. LOL Anyway, since no PC version.. no Ace Combat for me.. >.>
