DCS 2.5 with SLI\CROSSFIRE
mariner3302 replied to ambision's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Ok, ok.... Yes, we know it doesn't use both. That's what ED says, ok.... Now, let Thud answer the question about why his framerate is so much better than mine. At some point these questions are useful to some of us. There's no reason to keep beating the 'it doesn't use SLI' horse anymore.... -

I will give it a try in a bit. As I said before, if my PC is in "Airplane Mode" then SSA works fine. According to my Win10 help topic, that shuts off electronic transmissions to and from the PC. So I think you are on to something, Andre. I will report my results. -
Hi, I have this idea I would like opinions on. I have a Cougar HOTAS not being used and thinking about taking the Warthog right throttle grip/head off and replace it with the Cougar throttle grip/head. I haven't read anywhere that this has been done. From a mechanical point of view it is not that difficult. From a software/wiring POV, I am not sure. I would lose some functionality of the Cougar switches and would need to trace functions to the Warthog base's board. Any idea's, recommendations, or thoughts on doing this? The 'why do it' is because I like the Cougar grip but don't want to lose the buttons/switches on the Warthog base. I don't like the pots much at all. The Hall Effect sensor shouldn't be affected. What say you?:joystick:

I am not angry, I am disappointed and frustrated. Whatever... I see nobody either understands, doesn't want to admit to understanding, or they are taking things personally about what I am talking about. Your car 'example' has absolutely no bearing on what I am talking about. If you don't see that, too bad. As far as patience, how about shutting your phone off for 3 weeks. It's just a phone, right? That's my opinion but I bet it isn't yours... Answer the question about the computer - youy don't get the color you ordered, what do you do? Surely you can answer that... Screw it, maybe I'll look into Andre taking back the seat since it's not going to work as advertised to me... So much for free advertisement! In America, we like to get what we PAY for... Believe me, I PAID for your software... whether YOU made the best deal with Andre is your problem, not mine. -

As I said, a $200 paperweight. The seat is advertised for gaming, not massaging. Part of buying the seat includes the software (as advertised on Andre's website). If you buy a computer and it says it is white in color, then you expect that and should. If it turns out to be black once you unbox it do you just say 'oh, well... I'm just grateful it is a computer. Of course not... Same thing here. So if YOUR personal seat is working perfectly well then thats great but to tell me to be grateful when mine is not working correctly is BS. Try turning your internet connection off and see if the seat/software still works. Not everyone can be online when they use the sims. I do appreciate Olaf's work. Do any of you put the seat and opinion of it and it's software in your signatures? I have referred 5 or 6 people already to buy the seat because I believe in it. Anyway, let's stop this topic as it is taking away from the purpose of this thread. Has anyone got the seat to work with the Bell-47 mod to the Uh-1 module? -

Ok, so answer this question..... will the KW-908 seat pad work WITHOUT the SimShaker for Aviators software? Yes or No... I've said repeatedly that this seat and software are the best thing next to VR for bringing reality to simming. Being grateful for something ends when it effects something I paid for. This is a joint venture between Andre and Olaf. Personally I think the software should be payware. That's been my point. So? Yes or No? -

Yeah, that was a little bit of a rant... no disrespect intended. Frustration and exasperation is getting to me... When I hear 'its only a game' it tells me to just relax and don't worry about it... Hard to do when an expensive piece of kit doesn't work... I get what you're saying but you will hopefully understand me too... -

If the seat doesn't work, for whatever reason, then it is a $200 paperweight. It doesn't have anything to do with a game. It's basically like buying a car that wont run. My money and expectation of use of the purchased item are wasted. If you buy a game for $100 and it doesnt work for you, do you just throw it away and forget it? No, you work with the seller to get what you paid for and what was expected when you bought it. Have you considered a website forum to organize users questions, problems, ideas, etc..? Right now you have to answer the same question a lot and searching effectively through 122+ pages of comments isn't working. Especially for new users and non computer folks like me. You could put the stable and beta downloads on it. Tons of features that would help us customers. Unless there is another program recommended by the seller (Andre) that will run the Jetseat Series as he advertises then we are then customers of your service with an expectation of service and support of the jetseat SimShaker program software. So you see, it is NOT "just a game". It is the principle. More than that, it doesn't take very long of using your wonderful products to make having them not working ruin the entire gaming experience. Which is extremely irritating and worse. Especially when not having that seat working brings $3000 of stuff to a halt because I don't feel the reality I'm seeking without it.... -

With the seat you just need a usb port. I dont know if the soundcard has anything to do with the seats vibration. I dont think it does. Id certainly have at least one soundboard. Im thinking of putting in a cheap second card to drive a homemade buttkicker outfit i want to build. -

I don't understand either but it would seem that its something to do with the DCS mission telling SSA to activate. Because it works in "airplane mode", which disconnects incoming and outgoing transmissions from the PC, it shows its not needing to 'talk' to an outside entity for it to work with DCS. However, if the network connection is on then the mission will start SSA. Turn off the connection in the mission and SSA continues working. End the mission, internet still off, and restart the mission - SSA doesn't work. So whatever is talking to SSA to tell it what aircraft it will emulate (which profile to use) and to start isnt making it to SSA. I found a Simshaker.lua that appears to be from DCS which may be part of the problem. The install and use aspect of SSA will hopefully get smoothed out. It took a good hour today of installing , uninstalling, etc to get a working (same above problem) copy. The fact the seat wont work without this software is problematic. Because its freeware, its hard to demand action. I get that but at the same time it is extremely frustrating having put a lot of money into something thats not easy for us old, nontechies to make work. If it werent such a step up in realism I would have trashed it by now but I find it as important as VR now. -

C'mon now, nobody is concerned that Simshaker for Aviators software is broke offline? Or worse could be doing telemetry in the background?? Try it without your internet connected, PLEASE! I have tried every suggestion and path F410 and others have stated. It doesn't have to do with the starting of the app. It happens at mission start/spawn in. DCS is up and online and everything works fine. Leave that mission and go back to either restart that mi9ssion or start any other mission. Turn the internet off (I turn the Ethernet off) and go back and start any mission. The app will not start and you'll be sitting in game with everything working but feeling like a cheap hooker at dawn without the beloved vibrations!! It won't take but a few minutes. I reset Win10 on a clean SSD. Doesn't work offline. I NEED it to work offline because a lot of times I won't have the net on. -

Would someone PLEASE turn off their internet connection and then run DCS and see if their seat will start? PLEASE? I wiped my drive and did a fresh Win10 install then DCS, simshaker, etc.. It STILL will NOT work when the internet is OFF. Works fine when the net is connected. I'm using 1.2.0.0 and this shouldn't be happening!! -

I turned all my firewalls and anivirus, etc... OFF. If the network is enabled it works. If it isnxt then it will not start. Please reread my post and help me. There are 122 pages of this thread. I searched and found clickonce mentioned 3 times. This is a 1.2.0.3 problem. 1.2.0.0 did not do this. So what is the solution? You developed this program, is there any other way to make the jetseat work? Im extrememly frustrated and annoyed that this is happening. I cant be online all the time! -

Ok, this is disturbing. I love the seat and the effect but I can't run it when not connected to the internet. I shut down all my antivirus and allowed all the connections. I don't recall this issue with 1.1.0.0 so what is going on? It's starting to look like I am being monitored. How can I get this to run offline??? -
DCS 2.5 with SLI\CROSSFIRE
mariner3302 replied to ambision's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Is there a way to see if the VR framerate is more due to the 2d GPU or because of the overclocking? I get around 36 fps. What is superclocking the GPU? And especially do you see an occasional tear/stutter/spike in DCS with VR? -

Can the updated SSA (todays) interfere with my network? It seems to be shutting off or paralyzing the computers internet access it is installed on. The internet everywhere else in the house works fine. -

Damn..... Thats fricking awesome! I reset my system with a system image from last November. It fixed the problem for now but it will return. It always does. This could be a LOT of folks problem, especially considering the proliferation of devices in folks homes. I see you are on ethernet, as am I. I wonder if that could have anything to do with it. Just a wonderment... Good job!!!
