I found something thats really made it hard for me to believe the Hornets flight modeling... I forgot to put my wings down with a full bombload off the Cat yesterday so I thought lets see today.. Uneventful Cat Shot, a little mushy but not uncontrollable. Fired AIM-9s off the folded tips and then came around and attempted to land. Right down to the ball I had it under control but then it got mushy again and I had to eject. If I had had more fuel I would have took it back around. Anyone else done this? I turned on FPS through nVidia GEForce Shadowplay but it puts the FPS on the monitor screen, not in the Rift.My keyboard doesn't have a Pause key so I changed the binding in controls at the main swcreen to F and that does nothing.

I use the Task Manager performance tab and the Process Lasso tabs up on the sides of the VR scene on the monitor to get some gauge of what the PC is performing at.

Can someone please tell me how to get the frame rate display to come up? Does it in the Rift headset or is it somewhere else? I bound all the keys I could find that say frame rate monitor (whatever the right name is) in all the different a/c and general settings for the a/c I fly.I have used the performance HUD by enabling it in the Oculus debug settings but it tells frames dropped, not the framerate. And that usually tells me I have negative performance headroom. So in short I think its improving my game but I ran bone stock yesterday without mods and couldn't tell a difference.

Well here's a bug (pardon the pun)... I forgot to unfold my wings on takeoff from Waist Cat 1. 27 knots of apperant wind. With 10 mk-82's and A/A missiles. She was mushy after launch and then I looked back and realized the problem. Unfolded the wings and kept flying, did my bomb runs, and trapped.

I'd like to add a constant rumble effect to the Hornet until the rpm type comes out. I see the .uvw editor but haven't a clue how to use it. Are there any instructions or help that will help me do that.

He was asking for effect, not performance but I've noticed no difference either way than stock in 2D. I'm enjoying a bit sharper view but the performance of DCS is still maxing out my CPU and GPU so I've got something set wrong or not set up right. Although I have all my setting at max and 2.2 on pixel density. So I'm not complaining!!! In the Rift I have my _HMD file mask and msaa both at .625 and it is awesome!

Is it normal for the metacache folders to remain empty after installing the app and emptying them? After restarting and playing a few missions in the different maps? They are all still empty. I emptied the fxo folder and it refilled for lack of the correct term.

I tried the old .miz file and couldn't get the ICLS to work. I couldn't find an updatd mission. Am I doing something wrong? Also is the LSO cam lines supposed to be on in the Hornet while flying to the Carrier?

Geez this install is taking forever. I sure hope it doesn't break the mod.

There is a lot of enthusiasm by some people over how wonderful this is, but I am in the not-completely-convinced camp. 1) I can see the benefit of the MSAA masking. There is no doubt that must reduce resources used simply by the fact the whole screen is not being processed. A definite positive. First question here is, can we have that effect without taking away some of the graphical effects that this mod seems to do? 2) Without the mod, what sort of performance increase would we get simply by disabling some of the effects in the main GUI settings screen? 3) There is something going on with grass when using this mod that I can't quite explain. I get effects that I didn't see before. 4) Seems to me that it's people with higher end kit that are not seeing any great benefit of this mod. In my case, I am able to put on x4 MSAA rather than x2, but I haven't tried simply turning things off in the GUI settings to see if I get the same thing without the mod. 5) I don't understand what is happening with the folders of type C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\terrains\Caucasus\misc\metacache\dcs. I have asked here a couple of times on that, but no reply was given. I have ASW switched on in auto mode, so I only tend to see 45fps or 90fps anyway. You are telling people that find it does indeed work that they are wrong and that you don't think it should/does... Pontify on that for a minute... lol

A wise man said "You should allow a man his allusions".... If it works for some of us, or even only makes us THINK it does, why are you bashing it? Just because someone doesn't know how to build a plane there is no denying it flys. I think we are all thrilled that it DOES work for a lot of us. VR goggles don't have the best quality control and they are not all the same quality of view. Maybe you don't see a difference but it has certainly improved MY experience!! If it doesn't work for you then maybe you and your system are different. I am also thrilled that smart people are finding ways to improve the visuals even further.

So pushing the ILS button in the Hornet will NOT bring up the ILS needles like the Harrier would, correct? I kept trying to get them to come on at Batumi with no luck.

I think exactly the same thing. Something needs to loop through or around that ethernet port. The powered extender allows me to use the PC when there is no internet network available. I dont have any other device that can do anything but the extender works my personal situation out. I realize that most folks don't use sims offline much anymore but it does happen. I want to thank everyone who contributed meaningful advice and comments in helping figure this out. Andre and Olaf, I want to thank you both again for giving us such a wonderful device! It really is equal to VR in bringing reality to simming.

We used the Dive School in Panama City, FL. Freefall School was my favorite next to the Pathfinder Course. I retired in late 2003 after coming back from Iraq. I have water cooling on my PC so I think OC'ing is ok but am not sure if I need it. His system sounds like miine. That's why I'd like to know how he is getting those framerates. There are so many opinions it's a crapshoot on what works for who.

Now that was a REAL LOL! Horses and Zebras !! Lmao In real life I was Marine Force Recon for most of my 20 year career. The top insignia is the Combat Diver Insignia. We call it the Bubble. That's the old style. The new insignia is gold and is a different style. The wings are Navy and Marine Corps Jump Wings. I realize to benchmark properly and compare would take exact specs. I think knowing how he thinks it works is fine too. His specs are like mine and I'm considering overclocking.

I don't know why the airplane mode is on my Win10. I don't have WiFi on my gaming rig. I have an ethernet cable plugged into a wireless extender which uses WiFi to talk with my Wireless Router downstairs. So... With the Ethernet cord plugged into the Extender and the WiFi router downstairs OFF (power unplugged), the seat works fine. With the Ethernet cable disconnected from the back of the PC, the seat does not work. With the cable plugged into the PC but the extender off, the seat does not work. Wouldn't that mean that there is something in the extender that is allowing the DCS signal to return to the PC (and the seat) when it has power? Or if the ethenet adapter is off, it won't return or let pass through the signal from DCS to the seat? We now know that it absolutely doesn't talk outside to the internet. That's good. Now how to let DCS talk to the seat? An ethernet adapter setting?
