VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
mariner3302 replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Jitters can be caused by having mods in the wrong place. I'd uninstall mods you have one at a time to see if it could be the cause. The other thing is whether ASW is running. If it isn't you may get the jitter/stutter. -
VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
mariner3302 replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
It had to happen eventually that an update would break the mod. We have had a good long run of luck from first getting it. The problems with yesterdays update are so great that maybe we will get it back once ED fixes what was broken in the update. VR took a huge hit in the update. I'm rolling back to the version prior to yesterdays update. The only thing good in there was the fixing of the DDI/MFCD brightness. -
I'm pretty confused now. Andre has been a huge help and evry supportive. So I have the Jetseat and it works with SSA just fine. I just added a homemade shaker with amp. Do I need Sound Module to run the seat and the new transducer setup from SSA? Also, how does Voicemeter Banana integrate into the mix? I'm sure this has been asked but I am not succesful in finding the answers.

Well, Tom, believe as you will but as a RL pilot of both fixed and rotor-wing aircraft, brake fire is a real possibility with anti-skid or non equipped planes. I am the ultimate proponent of reality in DCS and have spent a LOT of time and money building a very well equipped simpit but, and this is what I said, unless you have a 6 dof platform that's allowing you to feel deceleration then you can't judge brake action in a sim. Not to many folks can afford that setup. Even with a motion seat like my Jetseat you can get the feel the brakes are on but not how much force is actually being applied. That is no a conclusion that can not be argued. As far as shredding tires, there is a little to say for that. The brakes on an aircraft are similar in form and function to a car.

The FCS bit page, lower right corner of the BIT page, has an FCS Option and when cycled it changes the FCS setting on its left. Does the system shown on the left of the action switch BIT check individual systems or does it change the FCS button action performed when the FCS switch/button is pressed?

The main answer to the OP's question lies in the fact this is a game. We don't get brake fires in game nor can we perceive the brakes working (or not) in wet conditions. Lately folks are saying this or that needs tweaking because it doesn't seem right. My thought would be that the modeling has been done with RL Hornet drivers and maintainers. While there are lots of bugs in the module, some can be related to game effect over real feel.

What is the in-game difference between AIM-7M and MH?
mariner3302 replied to Silvern's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
RedKites video says the AIM-MH homes in on a radar jamming source. Think tiny HARM... -

Personally I would file/shave it and if you need the unmodified one at some time then buy it. With a sharp knife it takes a couple minutes. Shave, test, repeat. -

When you say 'non weather application... can you be more specific please? -

Works for me. Make sure and set Air and Receive.

I found that the reason my TACAN and ICLS wasn't working and just going in a circle was because I was on the ground. Once I got inflight it works fine...

VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
mariner3302 replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I fly multiplayer and it works fine. What will get you kicked from a multiplayer server is if it requires a pure client. Some do, some don't but the mod itself works 100% in a no pure client required multiplayer server. Chic, be more specific about the grass effects you want to modify or delete? Not sure what you are wanting to do. The 229th server mission could possibly be adjusted to lower the FPS impact caused by grass. I'm not sure. Grey Rider -
VR Shaders mod for better VR experience

I just empty the 4 terrains dcs folders. The dcs.old is so you can put DCS back to original but I prefer to just do a clean and repair through Skatezillas app. -

It can take even 15 minutes to load but its a 1 time per install thing. Dont worry if the task manager says not responding and if the splash screen asks if you want to close just select continue to wait. Also make sure you are putting everything in the right places. -

Yep, I did everything exactly as before when both ICLS and TACAN worked fine. The general feeling seems to be that the new updates in the game have to be applied to older missions by reopening and re-saving them but what happened to me was a result of a mod messing up the mission. Now to figure out which one!

I do exactly that for Tacan and set 11 for the ACLS but they dont work in the jet. The Tacan marker just spins around the HSI and nothing comes on for the ACLS. This is when I make a simple no mods applied mission. Stennis to wpt 1. Hornet 3 miles behind the boat, clear day. Im selecting the tacan and acls correctly, just like in other folks missions where it all works fine. Any ideas?

"One final thing. DCS member Kegetys has made a GREAT mod which has really increased VR performance. It's huge! The only con I can think of for it is that it breaks multiplayer integrity checks. But I think some of the guys have figured out a workaround for this. Anyways, I would say it is a must for most VR users. Hope this helps Link for the mod: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=215373 Oh and I forgot, whatever one you get you will be blown away. I will never go back to 2d." Get the Mod before you buy the RAM. I haven't seen where my system uses the extra 16gb of RAM.

VR Shaders mod for better VR experience
mariner3302 replied to Kegetys's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Hmph.... well, the bad FPS has to do with whether or not ASW is working (on) and if a mod is put in the wrong place that can cause massive jitters. Oh well, at least I know what to try/do if I'm having FPS issues! -

The round edges...? Need to be a bit more specific. Round edges of the VR view? For the Rift about .625 is what I use. Adjust the _HMD file with Notepad++. Added my settings... I get 45 FPS or a bit above and its nice and crisp and smooth!. edit - I thought my shadows were on High. I never noticed a difference from when they were. grrr... Seems like sometimes it works fine and sometimes it doesn't. Now I am getting 22 FPS... I think it has something to do with Oculus and ASW, not the mod. -
Took off and flew away with bombs and wings folded...

Its obviously not modeled. Folded wings knock 25-30% off your needed lifting force. The wingtips up generate no lift.
