  1. Feel free to equip the regular helmet and check again if it fits with your RL experience: ED gave us visors for both types.
  2. That reminds me: before I purchased my new R1 Falcon pedals, I watched the only review that was on YouTube at the time (from a Russian channel), and the guy mounted the damper wrong. Not sure how that would affect the functionality of the pedals, but still…
  3. It’s up to you, but what’s the quality of review samples: are they prototypes, pre-production models or representative of what a customer can buy? It’s like going to a motorcycle press launch: the bikes there get ridden/abused hard. Is the handlebar bent because of a production problem, or because a journalist smacked it onto the pavement? I have a lot of Virpil gear, and not a single time have I seen QA/QC problems…
  4. By the way, I have to say bravo to those new MiG-29 IA missions for the Marianas map (ignoring the obvious issues - how did a Korean MiG-29 (nice livery btw) even get there without in-flight refuelling capability? - I'll assume it was disassembled, loaded onto a transport aircraft and then re-assembled), flying the take-off mission through that weather was a lot of fun (it gave me reflux issues - imagine what it would be like IRL for a pilot in that weather): flying at 20m above the water next to the islands, or doing some cloud surfing at 5000m both are fun, and I landed at Andersen without incident. I was only able to see the runway when I was very close to it, so yay for RSBM and PRMG
  5. Good evening, Tasky. I have used the Pro Flight Trainer Puma (an older version than the one being sold these days) for years without issues. It’s brilliant for flying the Huey and Mi-8/24, but lacks buttons and switches to operate the later more complicated helicopters (AH-64, OH-58). This is probably why later versions of the Puma added more of them. Currently I’m using the Virpil collective, as can be seen in my signature. It has the Ka-50 style grip which is more than good enough for my needs. There are other threads already about this exact same topic, so I suggest reading those as well.
  6. Hmm so it seems my Rhino can be multi-purpose… oh, “rhino”… teehee… Hold on, I’ll be back…
  7. Multiple bugs with language options have been reported since launch. It is known.
  8. Won’t proximity to the ground render any pulse radar effectively useless, regardless of operating mode?
  9. Any change made will take time to get used to, but upgrades are always good You'll get there!
  10. It depends on which headset you use. On my Varjo Aero it renders perfectly, but it's a headset with a rather large physical "nose gap" that some people find annoying. So the problem is the rather large physical differences between different headsets, making a "one size fits all" solution for visors challenging. This will affect any module that uses a JHMCS (the upcoming F-15C as well for example), as you need the visor for the symbology. When flying MiG-29 users who don't like the visor can simply flip it up (or rather, not flip it down as it's up by default) and they don't lose anything.
  11. I recently flew Baltic Dragon's Georgian War campaign again, and the lack of ground effect is one of the things that stood out to me as well, as you currently can't land "b y the book". But I'm sure we'll see adjustments when the FF version is closer to release, similar to what happened with MiG-29.
  12. Definitely!
  13. It’s not just SSAO. Anything screen-space will cause issues with foveated rendering in DCS currently - and DCS currently used a lot of that. The easiest way to check is with lens effects enabled: look at the sun, keep your head as still as possible but move your eyes around. It will become instantly obvious. Also an issue is that, and this is the most noticeable in dark cockpits (F-4 *cough*), your eyes cast “light beams” that move around where you look. This also happens in external view.
  14. Yes and it happens in the default hot start IA missions too.
