  1. I picked up a HP Laser Jet 4050 from www.geeks.com for $130 awhile back, this printer prints 17 pages a min. It will not be in color but It is cheap to print, toner is about $70 and good for 3K to 5k pages printed. Great restroom reading material:thumbup:
  2. Thanks a bunch ED. I think ED ought to post a PayPal account so we can donate a few bucks so they can go out on the town for a night.
  3. Ground school is a good place to start, how about articles on why and how a helicopter flys so everyone has an idea of whats going on when we finally get the BS. I'm talking elementary aeronautics here nothing to deep. Stuff like airfoil, relative wind, blade pitch angle, angle of atack, Magnus affect, Lift & Drag effects,Transitional lift,Dissymmetry of lift effects, factors affecting performance- weather, weight. Things like that. What do you guys think.
  4. It has been my experience that when there is money to be made someone will find a way. I can only hope one of the companies in the know might start selling a revised pilot manual. I picked up a brand new x52 controller for $52 off ebay today :joystick: I already have the Saitek rudder pedals so... now I just need to learn to fly!
  5. Hi, I picked up a book the other day that would be very good for someone who has no helo training. It is called the Rotorcraft Flying Handbook ISBN 1-56027-404-2
  6. Hi ED, My PMDG 747 FMC was so accurately programmed that I bought and use the real FMC manual. Is there any chance you could either sell or point us toward where to buy the pilots manual for the Black Shark, the one with all the graphs and placards and emergency procedures. I'm guessing you are not putting all that into the simulation manual. If you are ... well I'll wait and buy that instead!
  7. They said it is only in the english version.Do you have the english version of Black Shark?
  8. I think there will be an opportunity here for one Heck of a strategy guide :music_whistling:
  9. Trim is set via POV on the cyclic in the H53, it's a cool system where the Automatic Flight Control System couples the tail rotor pitch to the collective and the collective to the engines, compensation is done automatically. There is also and hover system where you turn one knob and it brings you up to a stabilized hover up to 50'. The system is coupled to a doppler radar that can fly you automatically to a predefined point and pull into a hover and then after a set amount of time it will turn and fly back to the starting point following the exact route back and pull into a stable hover at that point. Provided that the system is working as advertised inspite of all the vibration it endures. I can't wait to experience the edges of the flight envelope of the black shark.
  10. Hi, I can tell you from stick time in an H53, if you feel a jolt or a bump in the stick while you are flying it, it is time to set down immediately. There is a fake feel system in place for pilots so they feel a little resistance when they move the stick in flight, which by the way is very very little movement. The Hydraulic system has a center and will return the stick to center. You can create a new center position using trim and when the cyclic is released it will return to that position. It would not be a good platform for force feed back because the force used is the same and constant, it does not change with speed or maneuvering. The H53 was created by Igor Sikorsky, a Russian, and so probably has some things in common with the Black Shark. This sim by the sounds of it may be the first real helicopter to be on a PC. I am looking forward to the simulated helicopter flight finally! :joystick:
  11. I am reading these forums and seeing threads where people are truly jumping through big hoops finding ways to transfer funds to get a simulator that is not even in their native language yet. Too bad ED cannot just put the Western version up on the Russian site and let us download it like folks are doing with the Russian version. Hey ED, when you get the west language version done you better open up a couple of bank accounts to store all the money in:smilewink:
  12. What do you mean crack-proof? The russian version is already cracked and on torrent! Sad but true. If I was ED I would code each release with a special-number and key that one copy to the individual name, address,IP and phone number. Then if that copoy wound up pirated I would take them to court in their country and nail them to the wall!
  13. I would love to see a big chopper like a Hind or a CH53 just to fly.
  14. I would like to fly without time limit in a hostile enviroment, That way I can practice defensive tactics and flying while under pressure. Save the offensive ability for when I buy the full simulation!:joystick:

    Get to Work

Hi Guys, Get to work please, I would like to buy this before Christmas if possible. Thanks The Sikorsky H53 GuRu!:smartass:
  16. We can work through the chapters of this book http://www.faa.gov/library/manuals/a...-h-8083-21.pdf What do you think? Exactly what I was thinking of. I have the hard copy of this book and the only thing that would be better would be a book exclusive to counter rotating rotor systems dynamics like H46, H47, Ka50, 52. I have not found that book yet! I have 16 year experience with H53 A,D,&E models so if I can be of help answering questions I'll do the best I can. We need a teamspeak server setup that would help a lot.
