Updated flight model ? Ah! Now I know what you mean. Something did change about a year or so back. I also remember it flying faster flat out over the trees on the deck. Now it brick walls at around 400 mph flat out. The squad did notice this change but there’s been no development mentions of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Been flying it nearly daily for 2 plus years. Unfortunately no, it’s the same it’s always been. Try reducing the fuel amount to something below 68% (wings topped) and see if it handles better for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Yes, but every multiplayer server is different and every multiplayer servers web page/stats page are located differently. I recommend either read the server description in the forums (sometimes that info is in the description) or send a message to the server administrator via the forums. You can also drop a comment asking in the servers forum and others will reply hopefully given you the info you seek. Sorry I couldn’t provide more. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Reference the Manuel pg. 83 “MIXTURE CONTROL LEVER. The Mixture Control lever is used to set the fuel/air mixture. On “EALIER” aircraft, the lever has four possible positions: IDLE CUTOFF, AUTO LEAN, AUTO RICH, and FULL RICH. On “LATER” aircraft, the AUTO LEAN and AUTO RICH positions have been replaced by a single RUN position”. This is a later D modal Mustang Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Throttle, RPM and the Propellor Well I was trying to keep things simple without going into exhaustive details. In laymen’s terms, think of the throttle as the gas pedal the more you give it the more power you get. The power output is read as Manifold Pressure on the Manifold pressure gauge. Think of the prop lever as a gear shifter. Yes I know I told you it controls prop pitch, because it sets the RPM to whatever you set it to and the governor does the pitch changing for you to hold the set RPM’s. (same damn thing). Move the prop lever to set the RPM’s on the RPM gauge. The mixture control, only controls the fuel to air mixture in the combustion chamber. There’s nothing I can think of similar on a car because the fuel air ratio is not controlled on a car (if it is I’m not familiar). The mustang auto controls mixture in the run position, and you only use full rich for emergencies. (Reference pg 35 & pg82 from the manual), Don’t get confused between “prop pitch control” and “Engine RPM control”. One uses oil in the prop hub with a spring and piston to change the actual prop pitch thus changing the RPM’s, the other is controlled by a governor so when you set engine RPM the governor actually changes the pitch for you. In laymen’s terms they pretty much do the same thing just mechanically different. Hope that helps some! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Throttle, RPM and the Propellor The prop control only controls the pitch of the propeller, the resulting change is an increase or decrease in RPM (biting more or less air). The throttle is power, the higher the throttle the more power output from the engine, this is read by manifold pressure. You have independent control over both the power and the propeller pitch. This allows you to run the engine more efficiently aka ( a constant speed or pitch prop). The normal rule is when increasing power to increase the prop lever (RPM) before increasing the power (manifold pressure). Then when decreasing power do the opposite, decrease the throttle (manifold pressure) then the prop control (RPM). This is how you get a max continuous setting of 46” Manifold and 2700 RPM and a combat setting of 61” manifold and 3000 RPM etc... Mixture only controls the fuel air mixture to the engine. Even though increasing engine power has a direct increase in the amount of fuel dumping into the engine. The mixture (air to fuel ratio) never changes based upon your setting. In the Mustang it’s automatic so you never need to worry about it. If it was manually controlled then as the air thins with altitude you have to compensate by decreasing the mixture thus reducing the amount of fuel mixing with the air into the engine. If you didn’t do this the engine would be constantly flooding with fuel causing a loss of power and eventual failure.

looking for sever setup info... https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_fid=74365&share_tid=238190&url=https%3A%2F%2Fforums%2Eeagle%2Eru%2Fshowthread%2Ephp%3Ft%3D238190&share_type=t Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

quesiton about dedicated server No, there is an app that is being used to run dedicated servers through the new protocol. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you where to find it. I am aware of it though and have seen other postings about it. Maybe someone else can add to this and help us both out and point us in the right direction. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Unfortunately, yes! When it comes to trains there is a bug. If it’s moving one can see it but the other can’t. I was hoping this had been fixed but apparently it’s still present. I don’t think this occurs with static trains. I recommend giving that a test. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Check your DCS version, make sure your updated and using the latest release. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

That is correct, that will be the server name. If your guys can’t see it, then that usually indicates either a DCS version conflict or your routers ports aren’t forwarded correctly. I also recommended setting up a static IP address for your computer in Windows. (It’s easy, YouTube it) Reason being is some routers will change your IP every time you go online as a protection. Your port forward is assigned to a specific IP address, you can imagine that if your IP address constantly changes then your in for a headache. By creating a static IP it will never change thus illuminating that possibility. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Unfortunately I can’t help you there because I have no experience with setting up a dedicated server. I host multiplayer missions with my squad all the time but that’s different from a dedicated server. I believe it’s the same setup however, DCS just changed over to a dedicated server two updates ago so I’m not sure how it all works. I would recommend trying to contact some of the administrators for some of the current servers that are out there. Maybe they can get you on the correct path. Sorry I couldn’t be of better help Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

looking for sever setup info... A server is dedicated (usually a separate computer that your not flying on) and will require going through ED to utilize their new dedicated setup. What your wanting to do is multiplayer host. You can do that with the same computer your flying on and it’s not to difficult to set up. First thing you need to do, is open “Port Forwarding” on your router for the internet. The port that has to be open for DCS is (10308). I can’t explain that step, you’ll have to research your particular modem to learn how to do that. Once that’s completed it’s fairly easy. Make sure you and your buds are all running the same DCS version. Check version number on the main screen lower right corner. Have a mission already created and ready to go, double check that the aircraft you want to fly are set as client in the mission. Open up multiplayer, go to the bottom and hit the start new server. In the next screen put the server name (needed so your buds can find it) , amount of players and password if you choose in the upper left. On the right side, hit the + button and browse to your mission and select it. Once done hit the start button down in the lower right. Your buds will need to enter multiplayer and look for your server name that you gave to join. I also recommend using Windows to setup a static IP address for your computer. You can find out how to do that through an internet search or YouTube. Hope that helps and is not to vague. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Are you trying to setup a server or just host multiplayer missions with you and your buds? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

This [emoji3516], I’ve tested this theory myself many times as a professional pilot. I regularly have traffic pointed out to me by ATC and the best I’ve been able to do is pick up an airliner at 5nm. Anymore then that and they are just to small against a huge sky. That’s a large airliner, anything smaller has to be even closer. I had the joy of watching two military jets do BFM, at around a 5-7nm range. I could see the contrails of both aircraft but could never see the actual planes. So yes, I agree VR has it pretty spot on from my experience. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

FOV is whatever your Vr headset is, the only zoom is in the UI layer under VR zoom, as far as spotting, I don’t have much of an issue. I can see targets anywhere from 5-7nm depending upon them being below me or above me. I find VR spotting to be easier then 2d spotting but I find it much easier to identify targets in 2d with the zoom. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

TrackIR limits for the Spitfire Cockpit
Campbell replied to philstyle's topic in DCS: Spitfire L.F. Mk. IX
I highly doubt your gonna find this, it’s one of ED’s quirks. It’s the same in VR, I can easily stick my head out of the canopy while looking around. You may have to work with your track ir curves to reduce the settings that are causing it to get wonky. It’s a bit annoying, but I find it better then artificial limits that the (cough cough) the other sim has for Vr. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro -
Hum.... obviously you can’t use the ground crew with an air start? So I need to setup all those missions in the editor? I’ve got to finish what ED didn’t do? That’s odd! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

VAICOM PRO plugin for VoiceAttack Reload the same DCS profile that you currently have. I did this expecting to have to re-do some items but everything was still there when I reimported. Save a backup of your current profile first just in case. I actually had the flashing menu from the update before last, it’s annoying but it seemed to be isolated to just the menu Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I had this issue as well, I had to reload the DCS profile plugin after the update and all is back to normal. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

I’ve experienced this in the past. One thing that always helped me was to navigate to your “ user/your name/saved games/dcs folder” open the FXO folder and delete its contents, then open the meta shader folder and delete its contents. Now start up DCS, give it a few moments and it will rebuild the shader files. I’ve started doing this after every update and it seems to help with strange graphical issues. Hope that works for you! I haven’t been in the hornet for awhile, thought I would jump into some instant action or the included missions for a refresher. However, non of my instant action or included missions have load outs??? No missiles, no guns?? Nothing! What am I missing? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

What FAB is trying to say, is lower your IPD setting from the default 63? (I think) to 40, this will make the cockpit more life size, maybe even a little to large and lower your Pixel Density (PD) a bit to help with spotting. [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

DCS: F-14 Air to Air Refueling Tutorial
Campbell replied to 104th_Maverick's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Keep in mind, that trim is a constant thing. If you change power settings, then your trim will also change. Once trimmed and behind the tanker, I wouldn’t touch the trim as you pull in to connect. If you trim as you connect, then once back on speed the trim will be off again. Once trimmed I manually fly it, connect then relax and use my throttle to stay on speed and only trim if needed. If you are having trouble connecting then I recommend to just practice holding formation with the tanker. If you aren’t proficient at formation flying, then refueling will be extra difficult. My issue is the basket not staying connected but popping out with little to no input from me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro -
