Guys, Grrrr....Im getting there slowly....just seems way too sensitive at the moment and the calibration is far from straight forward....although maybe im not the brightest spark admittedly. Really appreciate you guys helping though.... Nemisis wrote the following in an earlier reply...which I dont undertand ????? "If you are using the Trackclip pro, then you can also tell the TIR software to turn off the IR emitters on the camera, as the track clip pro emitts its own infrared. Having the Emitter turned on the camera can cause unwanted IR reflections from behind you which can confuse the camera." Thanks again everyone....most helpful.. Regards, Gary

Gents, I'm using the track clip pro.....very unstable results so far.... I cant find where the option to turn off the IR emitters is in the software though?

Guys, Thank you. I had already updated my software from their site but didnt realise you had to update the supported game list...(but makes sense of course) Will keep you posted...off to try again now... Thanks again Gary

Well guys I have just recieved my Tir pro.... Not managed to set it yet...first impressions are the quick start documentation isnt brilliant...comes with both a baseball cap clip and the pro clip....spent first twenty mins reading the quickstart trying to figure out what went where before it dawned on me that you use either one or the other, not both...lol Loaded the software and drivers, launched BS...nothing! Before anyone shouts RTFM dont worry, I will, but if anyone is on here who can help in the meantime that would be great... Do I need to create a specific BS profile and it doesnt come with one preloaded? Regards, Gary

Groove, Thanks for the confirmation...I thought id read that somewhere on here previously. Regards, Gary

I'm not sure if this is something associated with the current engine but maybe it will be addressed in the western release if we are lucky and its not something too difficult to do.....however, I suspect if it was easy to put right, they would have done so for the Russian release. Guess ive just answered my own question there really!!!...lol Gary

Funny thing is, until F4 was taken on by Micropose from Specrum Holobyte, i'd always considered micropose products to be more gamey compared to DI..... To be fair though, F4 was a huge leap forward in study sims Not many software programmes can boast a life of 10yrs without being completely rewritten... Gary

Yep, had Tornado too (I had forgotten that and your right, it was very good) ....remember then manual, it was very good for its day. Don't think there was a serious sim in that era I didnt have..... Funny you mention Bob's software for the Amiga...I bought that computer just to play F/A18 Interceptor!... Another one that comes to mind.. ATP....enjoyed that Regards, Gary

JM, Ah, Flight of the intruder....that brings back memories..... "Devil 501, feet wet" How about Digital Intergrations F16 Combat Pilot....remember that? Gary

Lets just clarify something, I havent seen one single post DEMANDING anything... Maybe it would be good for some official guidence on what consitutes tech support and what counts as just a question? -
Havner, Thanks, thats really useful to know... Regards, Gary

Funkman, I agree with your comments about interface and flight changes....for the casual gamer Now this maybe controversial but just my 2 cents worth...... I have often wondered how you go about instilling in the flyer a real sense of the need not to crash....(in real life its easy, you usually die if you crash!) The prolonged load times actually add to my sense of doing things right. Let me explain.. In normal circumstances if my approach to land isnt quiet right, its often tempting to think "oh go for it" usually resulting in crashes to be honest.. Now with this software I find myself taking the extra care to land properly because id rather stay in the shark flying than watching the load screen again!.... Maybe in the western version this can be taken on a level...with a routine written in that activates when you crash that formats the hard drive... Now that would focus the mind and encourage people to read up first wouldnt it...lol Regards, Gary

DTWD, Thanks...my Hotas is nearly there, had some calibration issues but hopefully sorted now.. I'm happy to spend the time and effort setting up this type of thing if the rewards are worth it, which they certainly are for a Hotas set up.....and judging by the replies it seems TIR will be too.... I did purchase a pair of the original EDimensions googles....does anyone remember them?....sort of pair of sunglasses, conected to the pc via a lead that gave a 3D effect.... Regards, Gary

Groove, People are passionate because its a quality product.....if it was 2 bob software these conversations wouldnt be taking place...I'd take it as a compliment.... Software this good comes along very rarely, and rightly its caused a storm.... Regards, Gary -

All, To be fair to the support guys here, I think probably one of their biggest concerns is that they will end up inundated with support requests that just materialise from the language barriers, and which most would be easily understood if we had western version...and its documentation. I also suspect they are required to direct their efforts in supporting the customers in the east, where official launch has happened. Id like to think a respectful request for something fundemental would be answered... The thought of trying to navigate the Russian customer contact experience to gain more activations is a little scary...but if it comes to it...I will follow repents guide and get another copy if it comes to it! And just to be clear...I have a fully legitimate copy of the software....was torrent tempting...of course, is it right morally, no...and thats why I was banging the drum to be able to get hold of it legally... -
Kurtz, Thanks for the tips..... Regards, Gary

I ordered mine last Friday hoping to have it Sat...not here yet but fingers crossed the postman will be knocking very soon today! I am a little concerned from reading this thread that it will need a lot of messing around to set up correctly?

All, Hardly an in depth review, but thought id mention this. As others have noted...setting the auto pilot functions is crucial..once you understand what the AP is, and is not, helping you maintain it all becomes a lot easier to understand and effectively control. I crashed my first 8 landings at least, but now can land pretty consistantly (and the last 6 or 7 landings havent involved any taxi fares back to the landing strip either!) I can also now fly NOE fairly effectively and its quiet something lifting over ridges and dropping into valleys at speed. On my last flight I was flying under and over the power lines to hone my skills and it got me thinking.. I know the trees are not collidable but are the power lines and pylons?....I easily find out of course but it just doesnt seem right to crash this bird on purpose! btw, when you think you have decent control of this bird, just go watch the first demo in the replay section....the one with the pilot doing dognuts inside the hanger!!! Regards, Gary

Waggs, Thanks for the reply.... I have managed to get a legal copy of BS and fully intend to purchase the western version too...no matter much the Rusian version is modified in the meantime. Do you have any plans for people in the west to pre-order? You will get a lot of takers im sure, in fact, you can have my payment now if the facility exists? I think most on here recognise we exist in a niche market and from the posts I have seen I think everyone is fully behind you... (and yes, I was moaning like an old women when I couldnt get hold of the software...........lol) Kind Regards, Gary

Just had another thought... Why dont either ED or the Dev team create an account and we all contribute into one of those? (only if you wish to of course) They can use the money how they see fit...make a donation...or plough it back into sims development...or whatever. Regards, Gary

If anyone from the UK wants my left over rubles, your welcome to them of course... No fee, just want to see them go to good use, and this software is certainly that! Gary
-
I had exactly the same problem....until I run the setup.exe as administrator....try that...worked a treat for me afterwards..
-
Mark, Exactly my experiences as well....managed to land a few times now...so feel im making progress too....not fired a single shot either...im gonna concentrate ongetting the handling down first... Regards, Gary

Happy to donate my rubles left in my Webmoney account.... But please, make it easier thn it was to buy the game!....lol Gary
