  3. Just had a quick spin and I love the new FM! Still have the "darkish" cockpit but hope ED will fix the lighting issues overall and on the plus side I gained a few FPS with the latest patch as well and quicker loading times. Haven't tried MP or any real combat but so far so good...
  4. Yea the spider cracks are bad but my main issue is the dark cockpit but I'm sure they will fix it.
  5. I haven't noticed the slider change quantity/density, I think it's only how far tree's are rendering but i could be wrong. Hope you get it sorted...
  6. If you enabled Deferred Shading enabling AA will eat alot of FPS. Try disable it and see if that makes a difference.
  7. Try setting the object shadow to flat only else shadows whats killing your FPS. I gained ~15 FPS doing so with trees at 100% Do you have the tree slider at 100%? On ultra plus slider at max trees don't pup up for me.
  8. I also noticed that 2.5 use every byte RAM (16 GB) available but it won't necessary be a bad thing if it use this as cache instead of using the HD. Of course I don't know for sure, only the dev's know but if that is the case it's a good thing and (0should)0 improve/ performance. But of course it may also be a bug. Just thinking out loud :)

  10. Weird since it's really helping here with very little performance loss. My settings if you want to compare. I disabled the keys but you can enable them again so you can toggle ON/OFF.   11. The forests are very dense. I like it but FPS > eye candy. If it would help increasing the FPS I wouldn't mind a less dense forests (maybe in specific areas) instead of cutting the Tree distance with the slider. Don't know if this is possible with SpeedTree, just thinking out loud :) FPS is pretty OK for, around ~40 FPS flying tree top level in heli but I would help ppl with less HW. I have pretty much same spec as you and have.
  12. I got SMAA working using ReShade https://reshade.me Looks much better than only deferred shading on. Still some small jaggies if you look close and some shimmering on power line towers and a few other things but it fixed my jaggies in the HUD at 2560x1400 res.
  13. :thumbup: Any chance the cockpit texture/lighting will be tweaked? For me the cockpit is really dark compare to 1.58 or is it some of my settings (my gamma is 1.8. With same settings the cockpits in Su-33 and Huey is OK. As said before, today is a date all DCS heli pilots will remember!

  17. Found a workaround :) Just edit the file "options.lua" in your config folder and change ["RudderTrim"] = false, to ["RudderTrim"] = true, ... ["SA342"] = { ["CPLocalList"] = "default", ["CPLocalListL"] = "default", ["CPLocalListM"] = "default", ["ControlsDisplayLocation"] = 0, ["EasierControls"] = false, ["EngineBreak"] = true, ["PreloadWaypoints"] = true, [b]["RudderTrim"] = true,[/b] ["StickPitchCurve"] = 0, ["StickRollCurve"] = 0, ["VibrationRate"] = 80, }, ... Note: It will not show up in setup GUI but that's fine with me, as long as I can enable it myself in above mentioned file :megalol:
  18. Just noticed the pedal trim was gone in 2.5 and IMO it's a mistake and I really don't understand the need to remove it since it was just an option? Hope you will reconsider this and give us the option to select pedal trim again (even if the real bird doesn't have it) just like the Huey. Love the fact that now when 2.5 is out.... Trees = BOOM! and Trees = No AI LOS Major update for everyone but especially for us rotor heads since we now can deploy proper tactics :)
  19. Thanks Cibit. Regarding Vulcan ETA I don't expect it anytime soon, heck 2.5 that is the DX9 > DX11 transition isn't out yet. But still happy ED will avoid Microsofts DX12 lock-in chains. MS have been doing a lot of good stuff in the past (been using Windows since 3.0) but they are heading in the wrong direction with W10 - IMO of course. Personally I will stay with W7 until I can't run it anymore and after that it will be Linux all the way unless we see MS going back to their roots with "Windows Whatever". Highly doubt it tho since MS soul departed with Bill Gates many years ago. :prop:
  20. I know it won't happen overnight but I'm happy to hear that ED plan to take the Vulcan route instead of DX12! Who knows, maybe we will see Mac/Linux versions of DCS down the road ;)

Kraszus, saw in the other thread about the zoom question and I recently got a Rift (the summer sale is a really good price even if it still is 1:st gen VR) and just want to mention that there now is a zoom feature in 1.57. I tested it yesterday and it worked fine. All I want is that the zoom in speed as well as max zoom level can be tweaked to personal preference (editing some config files is OK for me), any one know?
