*** AI J-35 Draken AI coming to DCS World!! ***
Wilbus replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Urrrrgh, I saw it SOMEWHERE in a post when the Viggen was announced. I really can't remember where but IF I recall correct, the answer to the question regarding a JA 37 version was that the versions radar was still used (or rather technology from it) in the JAS 39 Gripen. Wether I recall correct or not I can't promiss you. The first JA (Fighter/Attack) 37 flew in the mid 70's so shouldn't be too close to the JAS 39 Gripen which first saw flight in 1988 but I really have no idea. :/ /Wilbuz -
There can never be enough Viggens! :D (Ps. Awesome server!) /Wilbuz

Cold War 1947 - 1991 by Alpenwolf (see link above by QuiGon :-) ) I've only played online for about a week but loving the Cold War server. Other servers are great as well but this is the perfect combination of modern and old for me, no radar missiles but still modern enough to use IR-missiles plus other advanced missiles plus radar for searching. Alpenwolf is doing a great job with missions and the server :) /Wilbuz -

Birko, I usually take pride in the fact that I know a lot about airplanes and I recognize many types from the beginning but... please educate me on this one! Looks quite awesome, and tiny! Or is that just an early test bed of the J35? Looks too similar in many ways. Regards Wilbuz -

Agree with some other statements before this, shut up and take my money after you make a flyable J35! Would love a flyable J37 as well but I remember you said the radar system was too close to the Gripen so gotto accept that :( The J35 would be awesome on the Cold War server :D /Wilbuz -
Hey! I'm using a X55 Rhino with a pretty good working Toggle for it. Uncertain what type joystick or HOTAS you are using but the X55 Rhino throttle has got a slider on it near your thumb which I have set for Trigger safety cover up/down (can't remember the correct name for it now, will check when I get home). Can't seem to upload an image for you though to show it... :( However, even though I have the slider for it I mainly use the stick button by my thumb to active trigger up/down, it's in such a good place that it's as fast and easy to use and I don't forget it up (or down) when I need it. Just press hold then squeeze trigger and release, before that I had a different button for it which was hard to reach and threw off my aim in a really bad way so totally understand your request. Regards Wilbuz

Glad it works! :) /Wilbuz

And Tom Cruise looks like he was about 12 :-P And I was 3 by the way and a hell of a lot cuter than I am now!

Easy module to get started in is the AJS 37 Viggen, though not all too many training missions. It takes a few buttons to get her started and in the air. It's easy enough to start using the weapons but they are hard to master, as is the plane. The Gazelle is very fun, extremely agile to such an extent that it's almost impossible to get vortex ring effect unlike the other choppers. This is a reason some say the model is unrealistic, perosnally, I have no idea, I have never flown a Gazelle or any of the other choppers in real life so I can only trust the devs here (as can most of us when it comes to all modules). The Gazelle is very fun and choppers over all are great fun and it would probably my suggestion if you want more variation to choose a Gazelle or a Huey. The Gazelle is more modern with wire guided missiles and can be used well against hard targets from a good distance. If you want something easier than the A10 or F18 the Gazelle is a good choice, as is the Huey, Viggen and F5E depending on what you are after. /Wilbuz

Waypoints and simple attack plan through F10 map marks
Wilbus replied to Marduk879's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Not home right now so can't check at all but I remember seeing some Ai-choices in the mission editor as far as weapons go. Make sure the ai-planes have the correct weapons, not just RB-15 for example but RB-15 for Ai. I might mix this up with something else as I can't check it right now. /Wilbuz -
The feature was actually only recently added to the Viggen so easy to miss :)

I've had DCS for many years, buying in to the A10C as the first module after FC3. For some reason I didn't learn it for MANY years until last year when I started learning the A10 and got OK in it, then I stopped lying again due to different reasons and remember almost nothing from it. Thankfully I got back in to it all a couple of months back and now I fly more than I ever have. The three (and 2 almost) modules I count my self OK in are the Viggen (I am Swedish, this is a dream come true), the F18 as it is the newest module and the one works best for a true fighter (Not counting the Mirage which doesn't interest me that much) and the KA50 simply becuase it's awesome. Huey and the Gazelle have been on and off but I am OK in those two as well once I get a few minutes to refresh. I have come to realize I probably won't be able to get good in all or many modules which means I will try and aim for a few of them, in which case I will choose to spend extra time in the Viggen and the F14 once it is released, partialy due to them both being Heatblur but also because they are non fly by wire, the F18 just feels a bit more boring compared to the slightly older birds :) I had hopes/goals of learning the SU27 and Mig 29 well but I simply get bored too fast with the lower fidelity planes and I miss the clickable cockpits and advanced systems. /Wilbuz

Works fine here but not in Chrome on Windows. Try using Edge or Explorer or any other browser and it works fine. Tried it both on Windows and Mac and only seems to not work on Chrome on Windows for me. /Wilbuz

** UPDATE: Ground Radar 2.0 & Multiplayer Flight Planning **
Wilbus replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Awesome! Late to the party as I've just started using the forums but thanks for the updates of this lovely module and plane. As has been said before, it's a dream come true for those of us born and raised in Sweden and seeing the Viggens in the skies. Most fun module to fly for me, easily beating out some other more modern planes with newer systems. /Wilbuz -
Speaking of one self in plural is never a good sign, you might want to go talk to someone about that. /Wilbuz

I love the Viggen, it's one of the most fun modules to fly not to mention the fact that it's probarly the module with highest standard until the F14 is released, also by Heatblur. I would like the Harrier but I refuse to buy something from a creater who keeps their modules in Alpha or unreleased stage for ever. My vote is for the Viggen, it is being updated still and it's amazing. :smilewink:

At this moment, the A10C is a more fun module for me. Can't explain why, it might have to do with the specialization. The A10 was made for one thing and one thing only and that's to bring pain to the ground. The F18, while more modern, more versatile and overall the better choice, just isn't quite as fun. I'm sure it will evolve with time though and both choices and great. Wibuz

This is awesome! What you guys at Heatblur do but don't seem to understand your selves is how good you are at keeping the community up to date and feeling secure, not only with the information you release but also with your products. There is no developer for DCS that I trust more to not only release the modules you create, but also to update them and complete them, never satisfying and staying in "alpha" for years and years. There are some other modules in DCS I would like to buy but they are made by some devs who never seem to complete the modules, rather starting another one and anohter one and not truly finishing anything which is a shame. The simple fact that we are getting true and proper updates and fixes to the Viggen alone speaks for your honesty and dedication. Not to mention the quality the Viggen was released with and the over all quality of that module. As a Swede you made a dream come true. Ps. Had no idea Cobra works out of Helsingborg Sweden, I live in Limhamn some 60km South so might just go up and get him drunk my self in order to get a glimps of the F14  Wilbuz

Sounds awesome! Only problem is I am in Sweden so I doubt I will be joining in, hoping for a EU server/group with the same mentality! :-) Good luck in the friendly skies! Wilbuz
