  1. Thank you! I find DCS to be very rewarding to work in. You can achieve color tones and materials and reflectivity that is not possible in P3D...
  2. This is the first of my P3D conversions. Took a quick break from the GAF F-86 to get this one rolling. Definitely looks better in DCS! There's so much more flexibility in the materials!
  3. Still working the Spec file on this one...
  4. Finally the stamp of approval! Lol. Ok, I will go with this. I won't be able to make the final touches until tomorrow or Tuesday. But thank you Automan for all the help and encouragement!
  5. Here's the results with the reduced Text size, increased Emblem size and design. Still need to realign tail flash.
  6. Here's some fictional skins I made for the Metal2Mesh M2KC for P3D. Which ones would you like to see converted to DCS?
  7. Aha! Many thanks!
  8. Ok, I've got the bort corrected, thank you Automan. I have the PSD saved. I will now correct these errors and hopefully correct the white lines around the canopy glass as well. Final thing will be to add the rescue placards and fix tail flash alignment.
  9. Automan, you have been so helpful. I really appreciate not having to sift through pages and pages of forums to find these simple answers that really help me as a repainter! Thank you so much! That worked! Looks like you removed the "--" these must act like comments? Much appreciated!

  11. Thank you! This is extremely helpful to me!
  12. Ok I'm really not understanding how to eliminate the bort numbers. Could someone explain how this is accomplished. Do I need to make all bort Number entries in the description.lua file"true"? Right now they are all set to "false". I've seen posts where people are saying they need to be false... And they are, and obviously this is not working. I've tried setting only the 3rd line with the "empty" to "True" and that doesn't work either.
  13. I must have missed something. I don't recall seeing a PSD file from you? So this is where I am inexperienced. I don't understand what I am supposed to do with that XML code? Or are you just using it to show me the name of the files?
  14. What texture controls the white lines around the canopy glass?
  15. Excellent. That's usually my preference as well for the same reasoning. Thank you!
  16. Ok, I've made the white outlines thicker, added the interior intake white line, increased the "Richtoffen" emblem size. Now, I just need to adjust the JA-113 size and fix the alignment issues on the tail flash markings...and incorporate those changes into the SPEC, which will be toned down a little bit. Now, the question is this...do you want the nose paint to be ON TOP of the painel lines and rivets, or do you want to see the rivets. Note in Autonmans picture above you can't see teh rivets or panel lines, as the paint is sealing the seams and providing a nice smooth layer.
  17. Do the Belsimtek developers, hang around this forum much? If so, the F-86F & F-5E are fantastic machines! Probably the most fun simulators that make me "feel" like I'm flying, compared to my RL experience. Great job! One item I'm curious about... Any chance we could benefit from the new wing vapor effects once they are introduced in the future in either of these aircraft?
  18. Yes! Thank you. I was actually already editing the thickness and also the size of the emblem. I've noticed that the triangles are not all the same but vary per aircraft in shape and location. Also my red paint is a little too red and needs to be a bit more orange? Any one know the actual color value of the red?
  19. With the updated text from Automan. Thank you!
  20. DonJosh, do you mean the interiors are black? I have plans already to add the black around the forward exterior and canopy rail as in the photo by automan above. But, is the interior a black interior?
  21. Automan, I'm going to bed here, but I've got the text integrated into the texture now. Thank you! It looks great.
  22. Thank you Automan! I will incorporate this. Here's a few screens of a first pass with introducing a Spec into the texture. Paint now looks like paint....I'll be refining as I go. The tail chevrons need more precise alignment, ignore that for now. I also need to add a few more things, most noteably the black windscreen and canopy rail.
  23. Thanks guys! Much appreciated. There may be some minor historic inaccuracies, due to the fact that GAF operated Canadair Mk.6's so some of the placard locations will be slightly off due to the bump mapping and panel lines of The F model. But other than that I think for the most part it will be a good fit!
