Adjust your axis curves. I have a group of 6 guys and were able to.fly tight formation in the F5. Once you adjust your curves itel ease out that touchy movement.

OK, I've found it under my files...didn't see that before. Here you go! 334th FIS Texture 3-Pack Alternate Helmets
-
I'm not sure it says it's complete but had to be approved by administrators first before it posts.... I've never uploaded here before so I'm not sure if the process. Anyone can chime in?
-
3 Pack has been uploaded. I've also uploaded a helmet skin pack. It's included in the 3 Pack as standard but should you not be interested in the aircraft paints you can get them separately.

Here's a completely RAW video (using Shadowplay) of the Jabara skin in multiple lighting angles. There will be 2 versions. This one in the video and the slightly less reflective and dirty from the images I've already posted. I will upload asap when time allows. Thanks to Reflected, Carss & ART-J for the help to this Noobie to DCS! Much appreciated! Please Note that my hands lighting settings in sim are set to 1.3. https://youtu.be/7y49f8tAIvo

Thank you Art-J! I've remade the stars and bars from scratch per this doc. Thanks again.
-
Thanks... So, I've heard this bit before about the Stars and bars being too long...where would one look for "the right stuff"? I've never understood how you know what is correct vs. not? Is there a design spec somewhere that you could point me to? Yes, I agree, I was looking at the black and thinking this is too black...so we're on the same page there as well!
-
Just need to change out the helmet for Jabara's Red and white striped one, and I'll call this one complete. I'll include this white helmet with early USAF insignia as an optional texture as well as Yellow, plain Red, and black as part of the package. I'll also make the bare metal scheme available.
-
Does anyone know if there is a Fresnel that determined reflection viewing angle?
-
Under various lighting conditions. Just need to update the spec now with painted areas...
-
Yes, there is so much variability in exterior skin surfaces. I will do one that is not so reflective as well. This one isn't that reflective yet... Certainly not warbird airshow level. But goodness knows i'd love to do one like that! ;-)

This is why you never send back soup in a deli...they might key your car! LOL.
-
oops...double post.
-
James Jabara's early bird will be my first paint. Here's a preview.
-
Thank you CARSS!!!

Here's my take on active duty base metal...refined the color a bit more. Again, if anyone knows a way to be able to eliminate the number decals ie: FU-"XXX" let me know!

Not sure if its the F-86 or the MiG-15....
==Wiggy== replied to Capn kamikaze's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
Ahh....you know it could have been...I'm drawing on memory of an interview I watched in like 2006....so I'll have to go and try to dig up the interview again! Yes, Bruce...sorry I'm bungling that up with Steve who flies for FHC P-51's...My brain thought Hinton and I spat out the first name that came to mind! LOL. -

==Wiggy== replied to Capn kamikaze's topic in DCS: F-86F Sabre
I think the destruction of the MiG-15 is very close to accurate. From the Interview I've seen with Steve Hinton, he said that they didn't explode like fighters did in WWII. Which makes sense, since Kerosene vapors don't ignite as easily as Avgas does. He said that he once unloaded into the tail of a -15 and pieces came flying off but it never exploded. He must of killed the pilot, because he said it simply rolled over and gently dove into the ground. My issue is with it's performance...they are essentially never ending energy machines. They turn on a dime at low speed, and accelerate back to corner velocity. Have never ending vertical energy. Now all that said, when you fly against Human pilots in MP, the jet performs more or less true to life. It doesn't have those magic-like abilities that the AI counterpart does. It's a fair match with humans at the controls. -

The AI -15 is a magical beast indeed. It has performance off the charts. 1 or 2 circle fight, it doesn't matter. I can be pulling Max G and rate him from 6 to 12 and he'll have enough energy to pull vertical accelerate away, and reverse at the Apex, while I'm buffeting still in the vertical climb. I've read that there's a way to script the AI to not drop their ext tanks and this makes them behave closer to the real performance? -
Thank you for the clarification!

Oh. I was under the impression that 2.0 was/is PBR compliant? Are you able to define which which models use what rendering mode? Ok then! At any rate, I used the SDK from War Thunder to learn how this stuff works. And it works precisely as described there. I don't know what JSON. It's, but it must be very similar to PBR? Or at least uses the same texture structure? I don't know, I'm asking.... I'm still very new to this scene.
-
Thanks Reflected! Appreciate that. One question:. Is it possible to load a paint in the sim without the tail numbers? I see that if you simply leave it blank it shows as "000". Is there an option somewhere to turn off those numbers?
-
CARSS, that is very 'warbird' indeed! Looks like you also edited the bumps? It's very smooth! I like the look very much.

Well, I've finally had the chance to look over the paint kit...which I was unaware of previously! Sorry, a total noobie here in DCS realm...My apologies to Reflected for that...but since then I've been messing with the kit to come to some kind of "base metal"...just to come to grips with how the textures all interact...getting there....here's my 5th attempt....lol....getting better...I could go with this for now, until I get a more fluid understanding about how this new PBR system works. I setup the Spec Paint file with Discreet shading per channel so that I can perform non destructive tests....I really need getting used to it, but man, once it's setup, seems like it's a great way to go. I like this work flow, compared to P3D....I do find a few things annoying but on the whole it's not too bad switching back and forth.
