  1. Thank you. I do know how to create them. I use the NVIDIA plugin for PS. My question is, once you have the raw output, is that all that is needed or do I need to do anything else to the RGB channels first before saving them as a bump? In FSX/P3D for example, you needed to take the RED channel and make it the Alpha Channel etc. as described above. Do I need to do similar in DCS? Or am I good to go once the raw output is created?

  4. Robert that will be a good one! Regarding using my factory fresh Livery as your base: Irealize you're just starting out painting. So I don't mind you messing about and using my work to learn from. But in future please ask permission. I don't like the precedent it sets. For the same reason I didn't use Reflected's work...other than to learn the ropes but came up with my own work. There's no hard feelings mate, but please, come up with your own spec and/or base paint layers. It will grow you as an artist and be much more satisfying of an accomplishment for you. I'm more than happy to answer questions you may have as well. Please don't include my spec in your work. That said, it's looking good so far, And I have no doubt that your own work will come along nicely to give this work your own touch. Right now it looks very much like you took my factory fresh Livery and are using it as a base. I'm flattered, really I am, but this is precisely why I don't give out my template. I've removed that livery from the user files area. I'd rather see original work. I really value everyone's own touch and talent. Again please do not release my spec with your work.

  9. @Sirius, I'm not surr exactly what you mean. But I'm guessing you mean doing the textures from scratch, starting with nothing but the UV map? This is not for DCS but will be released for P3D and FSX soon. I'm doing all the textures for it. It's not of the same quality as DCS as it's been done by the Legendary freeware developer Milton Shupe. So obviously this doesn't use PBR engine like DCS... But I've done diffuse, Alpha channel, specular, specular Alpha, and bumps. XF-92A:
  10. MAJ. J.J. JABARA 1953 (Dirty version and Clean) uses the BORT numbers. So you can have MP sessions with different tail numbers Robert. In fact my earlier B/W stripe Jabara series are BORT enabled as well. :) When I do this one it will also be BORT enabled. I may just leave the Pilot name OFF the paint in order to facilitate MP cohesion...we'll see.

  15. Yup, I'm trying to figure out what is causing that actually... Been stumping me thus far...
  16. Refined the reflection and highlights...more muted as in teh real thing...cleaner as well. Checking how paint is interacting, don't mind the misalignment ATM.

  18. Here's how I'm wanting it to look. Closer anyway...now just have to deal with some smoothness issues in the RoughMet...you can't see it in these images (that's on purpose!). These are taken from ModelViewer -FYI-
  19. You won't find any for a Mirage 2000. It's very much composites. Blended with Aluminum like a Viper. But you should have no trouble finding Mirage III's that are painted over bare metal.
  20. This was literally my first shot at stripping the paint from the aircraft. But I could upload it as is... Would be the least worked in Livery I ever did! There would be some issues with me uploading as is though. Like I've not done anything with the pylons or drop tanks. Not will I as my intention want to actually use this iteration. My ultimate goal is to create a Mirage III resemblance. This bird is more like the color of Titanium than Aluminum.

  22. Thank you! Very helpful info! I wish ED would release a painters' SDK, but oh well! Seems like I've been able to find most everything here in the forums. I've been able to update the MN_388 skin and the RoughMet are now being refined. Also discovered the Modelviewer, which had been s BIG help not having to load the sim each time!
