My current RAM is in the recommended RAM documentation which is single channel, so i bought another single channel stick. I will plug it in and see if it works, it works with the recommended 8gb so i'm sure it will work with the recommended 16gb. But my question is will they work together?

Hi, Im just looking for a quick piece of advice I currently have 8gb, I bought with my meager funds a new 16gb stick. Its a different manufacturer and model but the timings and volts are the same. Do I replace and stay with 16 gb or do I add to what i've already got and have 24gb? bearing in mind i can sell the 8 gb and put it towards a new GPU in the future. What do you guys think? I normally play single player and i'm running 1.5.8 because foe me the microstutters in 2.5 really affect me.

Does this work with the steam version?

So which do ED recommend? Use a non release version 2.5 and have problems or use 1.5.8 release version and still have problems or be patient wait a week till the release version of 2.5 and pray that it will be playable?

I fully understand that 1.5.8 is now unsupported and there will be no future development. The development had already been done and was already released. I am not asking for continual development I am asking for what has already been developed to be added to the final version. One last update to include the last to be honest great accomplishments. For your information my computer meets and exceeds the recommended requirement, And i can barely run 2.5 on potato settings. As for comments about holding the community back to save a little cash, not every person is in such a situation where they can afford to upgrade their computer on a whim. I mean have you seen the prices of GPU recently? I think that comment was quite nasty and uncalled for and I really think you should take it back.

If its not going to be fixed on this version why not make the TPOD fixes available to download and we can take the chance ourselves to fix it. As it is unsupported

I understand they dont want to develop it any more as far as i am concerned it is now unsupported BUT what we are talking about is fixes that were already in place that have been removed. Its a retrograde step

they are burying their headds in the sand and refusing to update it, they consider it un supported.

I personally think they should update the harrier to the same as it was on 1.5.8 beta because we have had a retrograde step with TPOD functionality. At the moment I cant run 2.5. For all the people who have no choice to run 1.5.8 it would be appropriate to bring it up to its previous functionality. the actual beta of the aircraft was sold at full price on steam and then development stopped which i think is verging on a rip off. If i had known this was going to happen to the functionality i would have not bought the harrier and bought upgrades from my computer. the only answer I can get from ED on the matter is "the harrier works on 2.5 upgrade to 2.5" I have the recommended settings for 2.5 and it still runs like a dog on potato settings

maybe they could make the necessary files available to download ?

Hi, I've actually deleted my dcs save folder and have just reinstalled using the option "opt out of beta" Lets see if that works. It really does need to be fixed to how it was though it does take away a huge amount of the functionality. I got 2.5 running reasonably well for single aircraft flight but as soon as i started to make missions it was unplayable hence why im asking about this version not 2.5. Maybe it slipped in under the radar and no one has actually been in this situation so they havent seen it or heard about it

Hi , i posted in the harrier section but the answer was more of a shrug of the shoulders and im wondering has anyone got any answers. I gave up and went back to 1.5.8. final version (steam) the harrier TPOD has lost 90% of its functionality and icons, where previously in 1.5.8 the functionality was there. has any one experienced this

In the beta version of 1.5.8 the functionality was there, but they have removed it for the final release and left it in a more buggy state if you have the harrier go back to 1.5 and see what im talking about

Hi, Have any of you been flying the harrier after downgrading from 2.5 back to 1.5.8 final ? I have lost some of the HUD iconology and it seems to be a little crazy not like on this video it would be a shame if i lost most of the functionality. I cant do laser guided bombs, I cant slave to mavs, and it seems to not follow the target correctly

So i gave up and went back to 1.5.8 As soon as i added units to the map it started grinding to a halt. So im in the market for a gpu ive got about £300 is it a bad idea to get a 980ti 6gb ? is it a step backwards ? or could someone recommend something different im not against AMD i just dont know their products. Or should i spend some money on ram and wait till next time for the gpu ?

also i have problems with black rivers and windows The right hand mcdu i can toggle with the flir on off but the left i cant change at all, no contrast control or gain.

I don't either i'm using afterburner. I do notice a drop in performance near static aircraft

also may i add, the small overclock on the card that was mentioned above helps no end, I tried with and without. just that little extra power seems to make it just that little better

Alt- Enter worked for me, i was getting 45 30 45 30 sat on the runway hit alt enter and i was steady 60. I have reduced the settings slightly, water quality pre load, and tree draw distance.

Im not sure of your hardware, but if you have similar to me try some of the settings posted on the "lets talk about defered shading" post they may help and do what i did just fly and close my eyes to the jaggies

Hi i actually tried something from the "lets talk about defereed shading" post and it worked for me. Im currently skimming tree tops in a harrier at 60fps. Although I still have stuttering at low level with a huey for example. I think to be honest i was going round in circles trying to find good settings instead of actually just flying the aircraft and enjoying what i have. Also it helps when you do change a setting to fly around for more than 10 mins more like 20 to 30 mins and then things seem to balance out, it gives the system time to load stuff. The only real problem i am facing now is gamma and the mcdu on aircraft being black i hve to change the black/white white/black setting before contact. Seems like i got it sorted im getting 50-60 fps low over forrests in my harrier. the only problem is now i cant seem to figure out why my mcdu is black, it shows the information but there is no picture could it be the gamma ?

Is it possible to do the same with afterburner as i already have that installed
