  1. Sp only for me it’s one of those hard to reproduce when you need to jobs, because it’s split over two mission starts a track isn’t possible and unless I record every mission start with my phone it would be hard to catch.
  2. There’s no f14 in the mission so a track shouldn’t be a problem
  3. For that particular aircraft I have it set off, I’ll make a video when I’m home from work/kids are in bed
  4. The instrument thing wasn’t aimed at you just a silly question. I aim to trim with as little anti - torque as possible if at higher speed. That’s why this is throwing me because after a short time of Co ordinated flight I’m having to use anti - torque to keep that sight on its reference point and that bubble in its place. It’s to be expected after ten mins flight but not with in 30 to 40 seconds. My heading isn’t changing as such just the yaw, I would expect to have to retrim them all.
  5. The cloud and water issue I solved using high water and above standard cloud settings. still haven’t reproduced the flashing since.
  6. VSI, artificial horizon, bank angle, compass, the little yaw bubble under the artificial horizon. You know basic instrument flying Are those instruments lying to me ? If they are we have a really big problem Hi I don’t use route mode, I generally don’t fly using yaw AP. I originally thought it may have been I was using too much collective but it was happening even when I reduced it to lower levels. Thought it may have been wind reduced that to zero and the issue was still there. I’ll make a video later this evening.
  7. I’m not sure if this is the right place, does anyone seem to think that the hind seems to crab a lot. For example I trim for level flight and speed, within a few seconds I have to adjust my rudder trim to compensate for torque when my speed or collective position hasn’t changed. This is without rudder trim in the settings and happens with both yaw ap on or off. If I left it unchecked it would rotate to almost 90degress from heading before I lose control. If I adjust pedal position to compensate I am at full control authority after a couple of minutes, when I have to reset trim and turn back towards the heading I originally trimmed for. Is this normal behaviour? I understand you need to use your pedals to control torque and that’s normal but have to constantly correct in one direction till you run out of authority doesn’t seem normal and isn’t like any helicopter in dcs. I understand there’s a “trim” bug that didn’t get fixed but this is different
  8. It would be good for practicing harrier farping. I’ve set up a little helicopter base but it’s just a long flight to the main islands, really good for sea rescue missions.
  9. Didn’t realise that, thought it was for visuals. I have seen birds quite a lot they are very very small though
  10. I noticed the new waves have a hatched tiled square look to them I’ll get a photo later, I’d rather it how it was previously it’s quite immersion breaking You need to adjust the bird slider in game settings
  11. I’ve been trying unsuccessfully since I posted
  12. I’ll have another go later this evening and make a video.
  13. I am getting some flickering while flying to rota island. You can’t see in the video but it starts from the aircraft carrier to the right of the island, the only way I can explain it is someone shining a torch for a couple of seconds from the stern of the carrier then a flicker. also suffering from any edge that covers water or cloud flickers silver. Please see the video below for the screen flicker also please see the one below about the edges near water or clouds
  14. Hi Its something of nothing but I noticed last night when using fly again to re enter a mission the lighting is different almost as though the time stayed the same after you ejected/crashed/spilt tea on your lap. I will try and make a video but I don’t have any screen capture software available, it would have to be via telephone camera. So I start a mission at 6am it’s dark and the sun is just sparking over the horizon fly for 40 mins crash and hit escape by this time it’s light and all street lights have turned off. I use the option to fly again and the time stays the same when the mission reloads. It’s not game breaking by any means just means a restart of the mission from editor etc. is it normal behaviour ? Is this why we are seeing high ram usage because the textures from the previous flight are still there ? Or is it something like what my mum would say “ well don’t crash then!!!”
  15. Great videos the Syria one was fantastic. I want to ask the guy if he has any references so I can read up on the history
  16. When you buy a horse one of the first things you check is it’s teeth, gives a good clue to age. Also if their teeth are bad they struggle to eat so they aren’t as strong. There’s connotations with slavery in that as well. I had been fiddling with my computer over last week and eventually did a full nuke. Reinstalled everything with a clean vanilla install. Didn’t even put my key binds back in. I thought we’ll I’ll test my steady fps on Marianas see how low it goes and without changing settings and 4x MSAA I was getting 60fps locked dropping down to 50’s with a stutter over the centre of the main island. Although I am using 30% for trees and high visibility range. 30% is enough trees, while it does make a visible difference it looks a lot less crowded which is more to my taste, with no popping in of trees. my specs i5 9600k RTX 3060 32gb ram ssd x3 I was well impressed so I went back to my bios and turned on the MSI auto overclock which bumped the cpu up by a couple of hundred ghz, tried Mariana’s and it was a stuttery mess. YMMV but try going back to standard no overclock it may help (I kept the RAM xmp profile) I went back and returned again to the fps I was getting above.
  17. I have practically the same rig, I turned my trees down to 30% and to me they look a little more realistic and it runs at 60fps. Apart from the centre of Guam island near the international which is a black hole of fps. I’m running 60 fps with vsync on a 3060 at 1080 the only area where is a drop in fps is over Guam airport and the city. Also running MSAA 4 x try turning your trees down, I have mine at 30% they don’t pop up because the island is so small
  18. Probably gonna get lynched for this but Looking at the figures it was designed to penetrate T65 armour from the side or behind. No chance of penetrating front armour, as far as T55 goes who knows. There’s a section in that video about the gulf war and how many times the gun was shot over the conflict. It seems they hardly used it preferring more stand-off weapons and the aircraft not being battle damaged and offline for weeks.
  19. Tried the map after a complete system and dcs reinstall yesterday. I hadn’t touched it because I was getting 30 fps and stuttering on low settings. Apart from the Bermuda Triangle of fps which is the centre of Guam the rest of the map is fluid 60fps on better than medium settings. I actually enjoyed flying round it. I had problems with stuttering at 60 fps prior in all maps and eventually I tracked it down to the “gaming” over clock on my MSI bios, I turned that off and all my maps were fluid again. maybe it’s just another one of those things people could try. I now really like the map and I’m trying to work out how to shoehorn mi8 into home made missions there forgot my specs. i5 9600k 32gb RAM RTX 3060 dcs on separate ssd page file on separate ssd
  20. Hi I’ve had exactly the same problem, but a reinstall hasn’t solved it, I actually reinstalled windows so it has to be done anyway.
  21. So I did the above, and the shimmering is actually considerably less but what’s left can’t be controlled with dcs settings. I’m happy with my visuals in Syria. I am running Mariana’s at smooth 60fps (apart from the Bermuda Triangle of fps in the centre of the main island) I was also suffering from stuttering at 60fps like a lot of other people I attributed it to full ram and vram I had enabled Msi cpu boost in bios. I disabled that and the stuttering disappeared maybe it would help some people to check if that setting works
  22. Yes it’s something to do with the lighting and shaders there was something funny like this when we moved up to 2.xx with the deferred shading. It’s like the sun is too bright. I’m doing a full system nuke as we speak, reset bios the lot. I was running at 98% gpu usage even on the low preset with no MSAA at all
  23. Thanks I had a read through I’ll try me get some screenshots of the death rays when I’m on later
  24. Hi I’m wondering if anyone could help me out, firstly is it a bug or user error. I’m suffering from terrible shimmering and jaggies on all maps in 2.7 I actually got a new more modern gpu because i thought I may have been overloading my graphics and the situation is even worse. Thin rivers are like sparkly lighting strikes across the map, the trees constantly shimmer in the sun, all roofs shimmer in any sunlight. The only thing I can compare it is when 2.xx was released and the sun was too bright blowing everything out. Everything the sun touches that has a straight line shimmers, the only way to make it slightly better is to have overcast weather, which in vegas and PG isn’t really appropriate. I’m running in 1080 my specs are i5 9600k 32gb 3600 RAM RTX 3060 GPU Win 10 and dcs on separate ssd with another ssd being used for page file. As mentioned above the biggest difference is if I use cloud cover to stop the sun death rays, MSAA makes little difference at 4x and if I add SSAA at 2x the jaggies are gone from fences but the trees still sparkle at 32 fps. I have cleared the FXO meta shaders folder, I’m not using any graphics mods. The shadows on trees flicker no matter what the shadow settings, they also sparkle depending on time of day and position of the sun. The worst time is golden hour when the sun washes out all the details and everything sparkles. I have tried absolute lowest settings with MSAA 4x and SSAA very little effect tried absolute max slideshow with the above and made the same little effect. My only NVidia settings are max frames 61 ( I’m on a headtracker) and performance energy settings.
