  1. In the latest 1.5.8 OpenBeta this has been fixed for me. Thank you so much ED :)
  2. I was hoping that they'd patch this issue last Friday but sadly they haven't. Fingers crossed, I sincerely hope they have this fixed for 2.5. For this bug to still be there would be the biggest letdown of the century.
  3. This doesn't work for me either. Often when opening the Module Manager I get a popup saying "Failed to retrieve data, please try again later" however after hitting OK it seems to work fine. Perhaps this has something to do with the issue?
  4. I'm just getting so fed up and frustrated with this bug at this point. I maintain that I think this has something to do with the network connection a computer has -- a connection with high ping, perhaps, or a connection in a foreign country. I tried rolling back my game to the previous 1.5.8 version, and the server list does show up (with only one server though, but I'm guessing that's because it's the only one anyone is actually hosting). I didn't change anything about my computer or network. This confirms to me that it is an issue with the game, and not with something people have done incorrectly with their computers. If this isn't fixed by 2.5 then I'm going to write an angry letter to someone, somewhere.
  5. :noexpression: Welp, I have to apologize and retract this 'bug report' because yes indeed I missed this. Thank you for the help everyone. :pilotfly:
  6. Can you confirm this puts your ABRIS (MFD screen) into English? Because that is not the case for me, it only changes the cockpit labels.
  7. This isn't a bug, but a pretty massive problem that I've been having. By default the Ka-50's cockpit and ABRIS are in Russian, however in the settings you can change the cockpit only to English. If you want to have the ABRIS in English as well, you have to edit a .lua file. My problem here is that putting the ABRIS in English means that the game fails the integrity checks and thus won't let me play on my favorite servers. The frustrating thing about this is that I could handle a Russian cockpit as buttons are easily identified by their position and appearance, but the ABRIS' GUI is hard enough to learn even in English. Could ED please add an in-game setting to turn the ABRIS to English so we don't have to edit any files?
  8. I've had this for over a week, and no, nothing I do fixes it. This is a bug with DCS. If ED isn't going to patch 1.5 then lets hope 2.5 comes out sooner than later.
  9. In my case the bug persists despite checking to make sure the game is up to date. The bug only emerged after the latest update, in fact.
  10. This happens to me in every single plane, can confirm. It only happens on multiplayer, I would assume mainly because in singleplayer it pauses the game when you adjust the controls.
  11. Variations of this bug have been appearing for a number of people after the latest patch. In my case, I cannot see any servers at all, no matter what I try. It's a terrible bug, but it seems like not too many people have it. Hopefully ED gets around to fixing it soon though.
  12. I've been having exactly the same problem, and I've indeed tried all the possible workarounds (including disabling literally every single firewall everywhere); I made a post on Reddit about it. It seems to be affecting a small amount of people, but it's directly linked to the latest update. My two cents is that it might have something to do with slow connections and the timeout being too small? Just a guess. I would implore ED to really prioritize this, because while it's not affecting everybody, those it does affect basically cannot play the game. I haven't been able to play on any of my regular servers for over three days now.
  13. It seems to be like a big part of the court decision was the intent of the person trying to get the Harrier, and perhaps most importantly, the fact that he didn't actually earn the Pepsi points but instead bought them (which I guess was part of the promotion, but still goes a bit contrary to the advertisement's theme). Keep in mind that the FTC does acknowledge and allow satire in advertising, and if you read up on the case there was a significant argument for why the Harrier part of the commercial was completely satirical. If I was PepsiCo, I'd have given them the Harrier. It wasn't worth the monumental amount of bad press.
  14. Yes. If you press the button in the game right now, you'll find that in normal forward flight, with your throttle at 100%, the engine RPM will jump from 109% to 111%. Of course keep in mind that running at either of those RPMs will damage the engine after 15 or 10 minutes respectively.
  15. According to the pocket guide, they say that ED hasn't made the relevant tech to support the mini jammers, so as of now there are no plans for it to ever be implemented.
  16. That's like asking why anyone wants the F-14 when the F-18 will outdo it in pretty much every aspect except for speed and ultra-long range. People don't want planes because they're good -- that is a massive misconception. They want the planes because they love them, because they're fun to fly. The MiG-25 is one hell of a problem child, furiously fast and frustratingly impractical; it's bound to be an experience.
  17. This is an excellent idea that should be fairly easy (relatively) to implement. I think the best way to fix the issue is to add a white 'glow' (or border) around the text such that it's hard to actually notice, however will make sure the text is visible in all background conditions. This is done in not only most games but also on websites, in movies etc.
  18. I agree with you on how long it would take. That said, what will RAZBAM's priorities be? I'm not 100% in the loop on this, but it's my understanding that the M-2000C wasn't even properly finished until very recently. Before they attempt at modelling the II+, they'll probably release another module (or at least do them concurrently, which would slow both of course). I mentioned the flight performance as it was probably the simplest issue, illustrating just how far the differences go. Re-tuning of the flight model, extensive cockpit logic updates... at least they won't have to touch the DMT, hah. This is my question: does the effort of modelling the II+ compensate for the perhaps reduced reward? Why shouldn't RAZBAM just make new bespoke modules? Personally I really want them to make the II+, but will it be cost-effective for them to give it to N/A owners for free, or if they charge a large amount for it, will people buy it? I guess I'm just being pessimistically skeptical here. Perhaps the argument could be made that just out of sheer love for the Harrier and the DCS community RAZBAM will make it, and I guess I can't argue with that.
  19. Based on everything that I've seen, we do have to keep in mind that RAZBAM hasn't really confirmed they'll make the II+ (though it's fairly likely). Knowing RAZBAM and their update cycle, combined with that of ED's (we still need proper ground radar), I'd wager we could be waiting up to two or so years for a II+ to come out. I mean, I don't think the II+ is as similar to the N/A as people expect. It hasn't even got the same flight performance. And so I wait with excitement, but not the expectation that it'll be coming soon.
  20. I disagree with that honestly. The Harrier's autopilot is very basic (altitude hold), and wouldn't add too much to the experience beyond just making us not having to trim in cruise (as people have identified). I'd like to see things like the MFD moving map, SEAM, and the AGM-65Es. Of course before that, they should try to work out as many bugs as possible.
  21. I think the reason people are complaining is that there are a limited number of third party developers who develop a limited number of planes each year (like 3 or 4 total), while the list of planes that people want (Tornados, F-4s, F-16s etc) is insanely large. Who asked for an obscure aerobatic biplane? That said, Leatherneck are a private company and they can do what they want. The CE2 is a unique plane to have in DCS and for that I do appreciate it, but I, nor almost everybody else, will be buying it unless it is priced much lower than normal. It's not an inherently bad thing to have this plane, it's just that the work could have been spent on something people really wanted more.
  22. This module was the first clickable-cockpit module I've ever used, and consequently I did have a lot of trouble with it. What I've found is that RAZBAM's AV-8B N/A manual is good, but useless for learning the aircraft (at least in the early stages). It gives you NATOPS checklists and flight specifications, but it doesn't actually tell you how to do anything. Simultaneously, a lot of videos on YouTube are not tutorials as much as they are just demonstrations. There are exceptions though (Jabbers for example, as others have mentioned). What I would recommend would be to use a combination of all sources; look up some tutorials on YouTube which teaches you to undertake certain processes -- then, as you can do them, relate what you have learnt to the technical specifications in the manual to deepen your understanding. For example, to learn how to fire Mavericks I followed Jabbers' video, and then looked up how the SSS and TDC HOTAS switches worked. Doing so allowed me to more quickly understand exactly how those systems worked. The last thing is that ineviatably you're going to hit a blocker that you can't seem to get past. It won't be in the manual, and Jabbers won't have explained it. For those situations I try to use a combination of trial and error but also I search both these forums and r/hoggit to see if people have already found solutions. As a last ditch effort, you can just do like you've done now and make your own post. The Harrier is a complex bird to fly, especially compared to FC3 planes. I spent a lot of time just learning to control her even before starting with the weapons systems. Luckily being a modern American plane, she's intuitive, simplistic as possible, and user-friendly. It could be a lot worse.
  23. The difference between the N/A and the II+ is, as far as I know, a fairly minor exterior change, with a moderately complex interior and functionality change. I could understand RAZBAM charging a little bit for it (perhaps like that GPS for the Mi-8 ) but yeah, I wouldn't be too happy about another full-price module. My understanding of the expendable jammers is that they're specifically designed to spoof passive radar. While chaff will reduce performance of lock-on radars, I presume that the expendable jammers will make aircraft in the area think they're being locked on to or perhaps think that they're not being locked on to through significantly changing the background noise level. I don't know any solid information on it though.
  24. I have two questions/requests: From what I've read, RAZBAM intend to make a Harrier II+ in the future once ED have implemented ground radar. My question is that if this happens, will it be part of the current Harrier module, or will we need to purchase a new module? Reading through RAZBAM's Harrier manual, there is a note outlining that "dcs does not have an expendable jammer". To me, this is something that seems quite simple and yet really awesome, and I'd like to petition ED to implement this. This would provide more dynamic gameplay regarding RWRs and passive detection. Apologies if there was a better place to ask these questions. Looking forward to flying the Harrier tomorrow. :pilotfly:
