Hey! I updated to 2.5 OB Standalone, and my Steam Su-27 campaign is missing. What's wrong? It uses a Starforce key (I'm pretty sure, at least), and I've already installed my other modules (FC3, NTTR, Su-27). How can I get it back? I suppose I might be willing to wait until the next sale, but I'm certainly not paying 10 bucks for it, since I already bought it!:helpsmilie:

Really creative and nice idea, Spudknocker! I like it! You do have a point in that the F-15C might be the only aircraft that would fit in the idea, but I have a few of my own thoughts: 1-Why not the A-10A as well? I know there's no need, because of the A-10C, but isn't it at least possible? 2-Why couldn't the F-15C/A-10A be made into full-fidelity modules, seeing as the F/A-18C is, but it's actually a touch newer and more advanced then the aforementioned aircraft? 3-What about the MiG-29A "Fulcrum-A" or MiG-29G "Fulcrum" (what's the '29G's NATO letter?)? If anything, they're even less advanced than the F/A-18C. 4-Lastly, and unrelated, how do I get A/G aircraft to engage enemy fighters before being engaged themselves (I have the Su-34 in mind, as it's actually A/A capable and can be loaded with 2xECM, 6xR-73, 10xR-77)?

Yeah, I was just wondering what would be the most likely for ED to actually make. I need an R-77 loaded Flanker... As a side note, why can't I post screenshots?

Say, what's the oldest, least advanced Su-27 variant that uses the R-77? Maybe the J-11A?

Hello, everyone! I have a few unrelated questions about the MiG-29, and I thought I'd ask them here. 1-Why does the Fulcrum have much less G tolerance than the Su-27S "Flanker-B"? Sometimes I hardly even have to try to get my vision to go dark. The encyclopedia says they both can do 9G, but I hardly ever even pull 6! 2-What's a good way to kill bandits (in this case a Mirage 2000-5 that only has Magic IIs and Super 530Ds) in the BVR range? I launch 1 R-77, wait a short while, and launch another, but they both miss. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks a lot! I haven't tried this yet, but I'm sure it'll work great. The one thing that surprised me is that I should be lower than the target. Usually, the higher I am, the higher it will be when it comes to the target, which can convert into more speed. Still, I'll take your advice, and yeah, the first missile is just to get the AI to not engage me until I want them to.

When is the 2.5 release version going to be available? It's been about a week since 2.5 beta came out.

Um, no, I don't know how to attach tracks to anything. I can try to describe in a little more detail, though. I immediately start gaining speed and altitude, while I look for a target. When I find one, I'll try to lock on to it (I have my wingmen engage as well). If it has ECM, I just wait for burn-through, as I don't like the concept of HOJ (I can usually burn through before R-27ER launch range, anyways). After locking it up without HOJ, I will point in it's direction, try to remain higher and faster than it, and wait for LA. Once LA is given, I will get a bit closer, than launch my first one. I will wait a while, (I'm usually not too far from the WVR at this point), and launch my second one. Then I'll try to maintain a lock while dodging enemy SARH and ARH missiles. How's that sound?

I have a question: what is the best way to use the R-27ER in the Su-27? I can only afford two per BVR kill, and I'd like at least the second one to hit. Any tips? I usually launch the first one soon after LA (I never use HOJ), and the second as much later as I think is safe, before I start dodging the enemies' missiles.

Yes, I know all of it is classified, and I am in no way expecting ED to make another FC, or even to update the FC3 aircraft to the A-10C standard (though that would be nice), this is just for fun, to give your opinions on whatever aircraft you would like to see, even if it's not listed (I know the F-16 is a big fan favorite), as well as to give me an idea as to what variant of the jets I did list seems to be the most popular. To try to get back on track, I'll list a few that might be interesting to fly, that aren't on the list: Dassault Rafale C/M: The Mica IR/RF are pretty enticing. BTW, why does the encyclopedia call it the Mica EM, when the loadout editor, as well as the in-game labels, call it the Mica RF? Eurofighter Typhoon FGR.4: Why not? Plus, it combines AIM-120s with precision strike, like the Hornet, but with more speed, more fuel, and more pylons. J-11A: A Chinese Su-27 with R-77s. What's not to like?

Wow! You're fast, FlyingPhotog! I didn't even get to post the poll before you responded! Yeah, PFMs and clickable cockpits for the FC3 aircraft would be nice. The reason for so many variants of similar aircraft is because I can't decide myself, so I wanted to see what everyone else would like.

I know it's super-duper unlikely, as right now ED and the 3rd party companies are mainly (or maybe completely) focused on aircraft that can legally be made into full-fidelity modules, but if there ever was an FC4, what would you like to see in it?

Hello, everybody! I thought this would be the right place to put this, because it's related to the missions I like making. Anyways, I know how to give aircraft tasks, waypoints, and all that stuff, and if I give them something like 'Fighter Sweep', 'Anti-Ship Strike' or 'CAS', they will engage the bandits, ships, or ground targets. But I've found that if I give them 'CAP', 'Escort', or 'Intercept', they don't go out and find the targets until they themselves have been engaged. Likewise, if I give them 'Ground Attack' or 'Pinpoint Strike' they don't do anything, just fly over the target, following their waypoints as usual, and don't shoot them. Finally, I've noticed that 'SEAD' aircraft only go after the 'Patriot STR' (I know there's more to the name, but I can't remember it; it's the lowest one down on the list). I haven't done a huge amount of experimenting, but with the small amount that I have done, I've found out that they won't even go for EWR systems. Do any of you know how to get these guys to do their jobs? I'd like to not be escorting them for nothing. ;)

Okay, how do I combine pictures? I've saved the cover images of my modules, and I can edit them, but I don't have (and don't intend to get) any special program, just what comes with the computer. Again, can I combine them, so that the signature editor will allow me to have all, but with just one actual picture?

I'm assuming that I'll have a little bit of time between 2.5.0 Stable/Release becoming available for download (as in, anyone who doesn't have DCS can go strait to it) and my 1.5.8 (Stable/Release; Steam) and 2.2.0 (Open Alpha; Standalone) auto-update? As in, I'll have a small amount of time after 2.5 becomes available to uninstall and remove my other versions before they auto-update, right?

Okay, am I correct in saying that the 2.5 Stable will be released (as in, for download) around Feb 7-14? Also, Do the 1.5 Stable and 2.2 auto-updates come before, at, or after the release? If before or after, when? My plan is, provided the auto-updates come after the release, to uninstall and remove my 1.5.8 (Stable/Release; Steam) as soon as 2.5.0 Stable/Release becomes available, and to just wait for my 2.2.0 (Open Alpha; Standalone) to auto-update, so as to save download time. Sound good? And, will I know when the update is going to 2.5? My 2.2's been bugging me about an update (I haven't given permission to update), and I want to know when it's 2.5.

How can I get the AI Su-33s to take off from a carrier at a farther back point, so they don't have to eject in the take off? And, how do I use the 'special' mode that allows more thrust to the engines?

I discovered the reason for all my takeoff troubles! I had tried to start both engines at about the same time, so only one started! That would also explain me swerving issues, since only one side was going. YESSS!!! One last thing: Would doing Right Shift and Home, start both engines, only cause one to start up, or will they both?

Yeah, I'll try it. Another idea of mine is to prematurely get off the ground, drop the tanks, land, and taxi around for another takeoff. Sound good?
