				I have the 9800X3D and i’m impressed.

Did you update the Bios and clear CMOS? I had problems initially and this solved it. -
Flying in VR is an amazing experience, flying in VR with realistic controllers even more immersive, this video shows exactly the feel of flying in VR with realistic controllers.

				From AMD7800X3D to 9800X3D, stutters!!!
motoadve replied to motoadve's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
What video card do you have? Mine is not stuttering anymore, just choppy or slowdown low over cities when looking to the sides, specially on Channel map. Turn Turbo off, clear the CMOS after a Bios update -
I like DCS, enjoy WWII fighters , MP and the community, its not perfect , but way better than the other sim. With that being said, what is surprising and also annoying is when they fix something, but that breaks another thing, fix the FW190 Dora engine bug, but altimeter breaks, fix AI in general but WWII AI stop being aggressive. I know it will be fixed, keep the good work, also game performance is getting better and better, very excited for the new fog.

				From AMD7800X3D to 9800X3D, stutters!!!
motoadve replied to motoadve's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have a 4090, DCS is CPU bound 100% of the time, and even with the 9800X3D still is CPU bound, this might be a DCS thing. So for DCS and the 9800X3Dd, use Turbo mode or not? It disables a second CCD and SMT , I tried it and got a bit of stuttering For a Multithreaded game like DCS, disabling SMT is recommended? -

				From AMD7800X3D to 9800X3D, stutters!!!
motoadve replied to motoadve's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Definitely an improvement, 7800X3D was pretty good, this one even better, very smooth , allowed me to go from DLAA DLSS to just DLAA (look much better) and also increase Focus resolution in the VR headset 10% more , which puts me at maximum for the Aero, and even with this image upgrades is smoother than the 7800X3D, so pretty happy with the upgrade. -

No memory overclock, or anything extreme, just AI tuner in the Bios positive +200 which is all that will allow, and curve negative 25, processor running at 5.4. Just took this info from a YouTube video and applied it. -

				From AMD7800X3D to 9800X3D, stutters!!!

9800X3D Bios default compared to 7800X3D felt like an improvement, no stutters, just a bit of slowdown over big cities flying low, , 9800X3D overclocked its a substantial improvement from Bios default, very smooth gaming, maybe some choppiness flying low looking to the side over big cities that's all. No stutters, very crisp beautiful image. Varjo Aero at 39PPD (highest resolution) with foveated focus at 1.6 (60% more resolution), peripheral 0.5 ,DLAA, everything maxed out on graphics except terrain shadows, I use secondary shadows and SSS instead and looks great. -

				From AMD7800X3D to 9800X3D, stutters!!!
motoadve replied to motoadve's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Fixed it after a ton of work, trial an error by me , even AMD support, re install windows and nothing helped. This AM posted in Toms Hardware and one guy with lots of trophies in his signature (experienced) told me to go to Bios, go default, clear CMOS, go back to Bios, stay default and try the game, no stutters and super smooth game play. Then I was able to overclock and this processor seems pretty good for DCS. Thanks everyone for the advice. Will test some more and post the improvement from the 7800. -

Thanks, I need to do this rename for each controller, and also for each plane, correct? -
Had to reinstall Windows. So I saved the Config folder from DCS core, and saved Config folder from Saved games folder. Re installed Windows , Installed DCS, I replaced this config folders but all my old controllers settings are gone. Dont want to do it all over, I have 9 controllers. What did I miss?

Gained about 15% in fps, but it stutters quite a bit, the 7800X3D was very smooth, this 9800X3D is not. If I increase graphic settings it stutters the same as if I reduce them, so that does not help, sometimes I see CPU bound in yellow but sometimes in red, which I never saw with the 7800X3D, so something is not right. Any ideas what to look for? Bios was updated, Mbo is Rog Strix B650E_F. 64GB memory 6000mhz Turbo Game Mode in Bios is designed to optimize gaming performance for AMD Ryzen processors by adjusting core usage. It disables one of the CPU's two chiplets (CCD) and turns off Simultaneous Multi-Threading (SMT) So it turns off Simultaneous Multi-Threading, is this recommended for DCS now it is Multithread?

Yes , I forgot to mention this, 10cm extension, the only planes where FFB reduction happens are the FW190A8 and the 190D9, all the other warbirds are fine. With the latest Telem and G forces (New) works much better though. -

Flight simmer for 25 years, real pilot for 15 years, bush flying, and warbird formation, aerobatics and dogfight simulations. I fly in VR, Varjo Aero, and a 4090, have MFG pedals, and many controllers, a few months ago got the VP Force Rhino, It has an extension and a Virpil Mongoose grip, I only fly the warbirds in DCS, in short its fantastic, it is very immersive, you need to use it with Telem software which has the effects , and you can fine tune them to your liking. Did you guys know that many times dogfights are flown at the edge of the accelerated stall? Rhino has this effect, pull high Gs, stick gets stiffer, fire guns, you get the effects, you get hit also get the effects, gear , flaps, engine rumble everything is there, DCS warbirds deserve FFB, they become even more realistic and immersive, highly recommended. Warning, a FFB stick wont let you fly pulling crazy unrealistic stunts , like we see all the time in DCS MP where the virtual pilot can take a lot of positive and Neg one after the other, FFB will make you fly realistically. Here are a link for the Rhino, a video of my real flying , Telem, and my setup. https://vpforcecontrols.com/ null

Canopy Glass is Flickering During Head/Zoom Movement
motoadve replied to razo+r's topic in Bugs and Problems
How come this can get by the Beta testers? They changed the cockpit but no testing? Its really bad flickering under certain light conditions.
