  1. If they aren't emitting, then how are Randall Flagg's Shrike missiles going to target infantry? (waiting to see who understands that reference)
  2. psd support, not psb. from the GiMP wiki: "GIMP doesn't yet support PSB file"
  3. For a different problem than the author's, I have tried all 16 combinations of the Blending and Shadows settings. Blending seems to affect the alpha channel as stated in the release notes but I did not see any noticeable change with the Shadows settings. In my case I was trying to find a setting that would give me something like the "Billboard" material or a solid that does not cast shadows, but so far I can't find a good solution. I re-did the test here. 16 identical 2-sided planes with identical texture (a BC2//DXT3 mipmapped dds with a slanted gradient in the alpha channel). Blending values on 1 axis and shadows on the other. backside
  4. +1 This makes use of the official template a non-starter for anyone not using Adobe
  5. if you still need assistance, PM me and I can help you with what little I know edit: note: it may end up being a case of the blind leading the blind
  6. I must have missed your comment before. I was wondering if anyone was going say anything about the MX-20 EO behavior on the P-8 (I figured people would either enjoy it or hate it).
  7. DCS uses .edm format for the 3d geometry. To install the mod for use in DCS, see the instructions included with the download.
  8. I don't understand the question. please clarify in more detail
  9. need to understand your problem more, but first: do you have the mod installed on the MP server (and all the clients)? like all user mods, it will not work correctly if the server and clients aren't all running the same mod (and/or liveries)
  10. no worries. you can just say that earlier versions were the Super hero variant: invincible RC-135 and flying JTAC.
  11. 2.Rocket spin rotation is weird your model's origin point does not match it's center of gravity. You have MANY threads and posts asking about the same mod that you are trying to create. I suggest you keep all your questions about this mod in ONE thread so that those that are kind enough to assist you can do so in 1 place.
  12. user mods are (obviously) not included in the DCS RWR database; therefore ALL new user mods aircraft will show as Unknown type in your RWR. Additionally, the initial releases of both the E-7a and P-8 had a bug that reduced detection range so that in many cases the aircraft would not be detected by RWR. I have fixed the detection range issue in both; however if you want to see them displayed in your RWR as something other than Unknown type, you will need to modify the core DCS program (not user mods) with something like @Nightstorm's DCS RWR Symbology mod which replaces the standard DCS database with a modified one that includes community modded aircraft. if you ask him real nice, maybe he will update his mod to include my P-8 (E-7a is already in his 2022-03-02 update) note: remember, you will only detect the aircraft on RWR *if* it is emitting. YOUR mission will determine the P-8 radar use behavior and when it is emitting. this is controlled in Advanced Waypoint Actions => Actions => Radar Using. see screenshot.
  13. updated to v 1.2 still having trouble "off-road" - Well, I guess he is technically WAY "off-road" looking forward to the fix, this is a great asset
  14. you have incorrect BORT code in your description lua. The stuff with "F18C_BORT_NUMBER". It looks like it is referring to a texture that doesn't exist. You need to describe the DIFFUSE (0) texture file that is under the BORT number (your new livery texture) and the DECAL texture for the BORT number (if you have a custom one) note: it also appears that you are missing the roughmet textures (or your code is incorrectly trying to change this). Remember the code at the end of the lines should be "false" if you are changing the texture to a custom one and "true" if you want to use the default texture (or just remove that line from your livery because it isn't needed)
  15. in your user files section, look at the file named: dcs.log example: C:\Users\[YOURNAME]\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Logs\dcs.log
  16. You did notice my comment that I was taking a break and I was releasing the P-8 in an unfinished "as-is" state, correct? Okay. Updated to v1.1.0408 Changelog: - corrected RWR detection range by other aircraft - corrected livery description for VP-5 - added VP-16 168429 livery - minor detail changes to AN/APS-154 pod and liveries Note: although the detection range is increased, the default behavior in ME is that the radar is only on during attack. Therefore, you may not detect it on RWR (if radar is off) new livery and pod details:
  17. 1st check for lua errors. Do you see any errors in the logs? A quick scan of your code, it appears to me that you have many syntax errors (ex: missing a comma on line 171 and you have redundant code on lines 130/131, etc.) check everything again thoroughly and try again
  18. well, you could take the existing roughmet and use colors=>components=>decompose in GiMP. Then paint the Green layer as you see fit with a higher level (brighter color) then colors=>components=>compose to recombine the channels and save it. (OR) Download the AH64 template and you will find a Roughness layer template that you can use to modify the roughness / green channel for your texture
  19. roughmet, green channel is roughness. increasing the levels will result in rougher (flatter, less glossiness) look
  20. great pack! and the FLIR updates look really good. Thank you for the continued updates
  21. everyone is making such cool scenarios with the Poseidon! y'all need to share some .miz files with me so I can fly with the P-8 in action (and not just my boring test & eval environment)
  22. lol, now you tell me. where were you 5 weeks ago when I started working on the mod?
  23. see photo for comparison of P-8A and P-8I models. I wanted to have some different variants included but it was still WIP when I decided to take a break.
  24. P-8 has been updated to version 1.1.0404 to fix the errant viewports in the cockpit (shouldn't have been included - and I wish I had figured that out earlier because it would have saved me a lot of work cutting them into the fuselage). Anyway, as a bonus for my foul-up, I am including a new loadout. Option to load a AN/APS-154 Advanced Airborne Sensor is now included. If selected, the plane configuration will also change to include the stabilizing vertical strakes needed to carry the sensor. Visual changelog: ok, now I really am going to take a break. Hopefully, my "hotfix" didn't break something else... Note: the viewports are actually still available with a livery modification in case someone really liked the look of them (I do). PM me for details
