Can someone with an X-56 [grey] please explain the throttle tension. I'm using it at the lowest tension, there is a range of loose turns then you hit some resistance should I try to turn past the resistance for more adjusting range or is that the stop point? It's incredibly smooth almost like hydraulic fluid, but if you don't move the throttle for a bit it will feel like molasses. But in reality I can still move it when it's tight like that faster than the spool time so I don't really need to move the throttle too fast.

I used to have the F1-F12 keys mapped to my stick, now with a new HOTAS I don't have enough room. I can click on the ground menu but not the airborne menu, Comm 1 & Comm 2. I think there is a mouse option to allow for this...? Anyone know? Thank you. edit: "LAlt - C" Force cursor to show on/off General

When I first plugged in the X-56 [grey] the stick was off center a bit...re-calibrated and never had the problem again. The stick is amazingly smooth on motion throughout the axis and the 16 bit sensor is so accurate in my movement. Lots of controls. Not sure what the SLD is all about, it's not a slider, except it has a hold. The one thing that bothers me is the placement of the nub stick on the j-stick.

Logitech X-56 SLD thumb switch on throttle isn't a slider? When you slide it all the way forward so it clicks it's a latched button [hold down] when all the way backward it clicks but there isn't a command capability to do anything. Any idea what this is? Thank you. edit: only in VR am I unable to click on the menu

After spending a few hours remapping and configuring my HOTAS making sure along the way I saved my work regularly, the new settings disappeared and the old remained In addition, I saved my .pr0 file to a backup and the backup got overwritten with the older settings. The same thing happened a couple of days ago, my newer work keeps disappearing. Thank you. Issue resolved: cannot run 2 programming windows at the same time as I was doing 1 for throttle mapping and 1 for stick mapping. Last one saved over writes the first one saved.

X-55, X-56, X-65 question...

The X-52 Pro has a wheel scroll up and wheel scroll down located on the throttle lever especially handy for cycling through the kneeboard pages and cycling though F-11 airfields. What can be used for fast cycling using the X-56? Perhaps I could create a macro repeat key. -

What I did with the X-52 Pro was to put the axis [rudder, pitch, roll, pedals] commands through DCS but all others through SST. Like doing macros [multi-button press] to make a series of commands take place with 1 press. Also bands are handy. -
X-55, X-56, X-65 question...
fitness88 replied to fitness88's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I see the software customization for the X-56 is much more advanced than the X-52 Pro. Is it better to use the Logitech software to do stick, axis modifications like deadband and saturation etc. or is it better to use the DCS software? -

I loved my X-52 Pro but after many years it's time to retire it. I put grease under the spring and under the cup, never had friction issues. What's the difference in the HOTAS functionality between it having an analog nub stick or I presume digital would be the other option? What part of the X-56 is analog and what part is digital if digital is the other option? -
which of the VR HMD are compatible with DCS...

Thank you all! -
Last week after seeing yours and others praise of the 'S' I went around the corner and picked 1 up at the Microsoft Store. I was able to try it out there using a computer much less capable than mine and it seemed good so I was hopeful. However the real test of course came with using it in DCS. I found the only benefit was within the cockpit, around 20% improvement reading labels/markings, outside and beyond it didn't show much if any improvement on the clarity. As for the DDI's...a slight improvement. I was expecting a much bigger improvement overall over my CV1, which I've had no issues reading the cockpit. I found the peripheral narrower, and the need to move your head constantly to stay in the sweet spot because it was size reduced considerably. What turned out to be a deal breaker was the HMD right eye not lining up with my right pupil. Only by holding the HMD off centre to my nose was I able to get it aligned. There is no physical lens movement capability unfortunately like you have with the CV1. So all in all I'm glad I took the time to use it, MS gives a 30 day return. I wish there was a critique list of the current VR HMD out there in the market.

X-55, X-56, X-65 question...

Are you saying the USB cables from the j-stick and throttle will cause each other interference if they get too close? -
I have my Rift plugged into a non-powered USB 3.0 hub x 4, the USB port the HUB is connected to is powered. Each port has an on/off switch, works perfectly. I also have my HOTAS plugged into the HUB.

Mine is powered and I have a 4 port splitter USB plugged into it that has an individual on/off power switch, very good for turning off devices like the HOTAS when finished. -

As for the older software and drivers for the X-52 Pro? I don't want to uninstall them if it's not necessary. Ok to use on a 3.0 USB? -

I watched a couple of videos looks good so I ordered on Amazon the Logitech X56 and made sure it was the grey one. There have been some comments about the stiffness of the throttle...any problem you found? Are the tension springs easy to change on the j-stick? Do you need to uninstall the drivers and software from the X-52 Pro? -

Great...thanks again! I hope the Logitech support is better for the X-56 than it was for the X-52 Pro...strictly email support only! I do like the new software and drivers by Logitech. I do strictly flight sim so that's why I asked. Do I search under Logitech X-56 or is it still called Saitek X-56? https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/logitech-x56-h-o-t-a-s-rgb-throttle-and-stick-simulation-controller/12421816 Still blue not grey. Update: some stores are trying to sell off the old 'blue' stock. -

I have the X-52 Pro now for about 8 years and still working well. What never worked well where the 2 rotor dials and the mouse which I was able to use through banding. As for friction of the throttle and j-stick still very smooth. -

Thank you for the info! So X-65 is older and the grey X-56 by Logitech is the newer of the 3? Is the Rhino the X-55? Which is best for flight sim? -
Which of the X-55, X-56, X-65 are Saitek and which are Logitech. Also what is the difference between the 3? Thank you.

Try reducing the brightness slowly till it sharpens.

Ditto on the IPD doing nothing, I played with it slowly going through the entire range and...nothing. Ditto on the physical ability to move the lens, actually each lens should be able to be moved independent of the other. Keeping the HMD tight around your head will help but it just takes the smallest movement to throw it off and have the 1 eye blurriness...I think your head may get sore after awhile from the tightness.
