Placing the gun pipper/reticle on the target and squeezing the trigger is the easiest way to go, let the onboard computer do all the head work.

From your observation what happens to the colouration when you raise gamma slowly till it can't be raised anymore?

As the sun begins to set until it totally disappears or as the sun begins to rise until it is totally up, visually is a very nice time to fly. Gamma setting has a lot to do with what hour of the evening or morning this happens.

We're discussing VR/gamma so are you saying monitor calibration applies to VR devices?

Then hold/lock could also apply to moving the TDC when using the radar.

I found above 2.0 things get washed out colour wise. I think the different theatres require different setting values for gamma.

When you create weather conditions it's at the top under month, choose a month to correspond to the season you want. AFAIK only when you 'create fast mission' off the main menu page does it give you the season to choose.

I'm running anywhere from 1.5 - 2.0. During daytime gamma setting is not really an issue but it gets tricky when you want to generate a realistic sunrise and sunset.

With adjustable gamma setting and everyone set to a different level how do we set it properly for the time of day/evening/night so we have the corresponding amount of sky light or dark? Thank you.

Thanks for the suggestion but I prefer the original KB as I don't like having the pilot block some of the controls.

Why not use on/off screen kb, it can be placed anywhere, no need for pilot blocking controls.

I have the new grey X56...same software. I really enjoy it a lot as it allows for macros and multi-mode. Play around get to know what commands you want to map to your HOTAS, put them into your software and you're good to go. If you map directly to DCS then there are different procedures that I can explain later.
