  1. Just tried setting a User Curve with the 1st 4 sliders set to zero, noticed no effect in the plane, Idle cutoff still required to get below 1500 RPM.. It's almost like all the Axis Settings don't really do anything?
  2. No problem, I appreciate the input and I did not play with saturation as it was DeadZone in IL2 that fixed it, going in now to try those sliders! I'll report back ASAP.. Edit: In the Controls with the saturation set as shown the throttle reacts exactly as I want (bar on on the Controls page in Pic #2). The throttle goes from Zero to 100% between the top of Idle Cutoff to full throw through the AB detent. Problem is, in the (BF-109K) cockpit it is not seen that way and the throttle jumps to 1500 RPM as soon as you start (TO Instant Mission) and the section below the Idle detent is needed.. just tried increasing the deadzone to 20%, same result.
  3. Well, for example in IL2 BoX it appears I can set a DeadZone of 80% and still get full throw out of the throttle from the (top of) Idle detent cut-off to end of AB, so the possibility is there, just does not work that way in DCS...
  4. For Jet sims its great but the Idle detent is a bit of a PITA with WWII sims and it's ~ 20% of the overall throttle throw. I already have the "push-through" AB mod so that end is fine, is there a way to disable the Idle detent part of the throttle throw (or remove the detent in software or hardware) to make the whole range of travel smooth?
  5. Bought this module yesterday, after about 20 attempts got off the ground (not pretty) twice. First followed Chuck's guide (Full right aileron/auto pitch) and then the advice a few posts back (full right rudder/12:00 pitch). I think part of my issue is babying the RPM increase as using the advice above I consistently would end up veering right and coming off right rudder didn't help. Just tried Chuck's method and accelerated more rapidly to 2300 RPM and it worked. Need to keep at it, never had such a problem with TO before!
  6. Take a peek here -
  7. I use the Next Level mount and an office chair with locking (rubber wheel) castors, 5 minutes to switch between flying and racing sims..
  8. Why cant they just come up with a simple "Release" function like (the other F16 sim) Alt Launcher? Even works for 3 position switches. Push "Press" and push the switch to it's DX button press position (let's say Brake ON), that's programmed. Press "Release" and hit that same switch and now assign that to Anti-Skid. Do the same for the lower switch position to set brakes OFF, release is Anti-Skid. Effortless and works perfectly.. here is what it looks like in AL..
  9. I think it's great that BS3 is being worked on! This must mean the F-16, F-18, our free Islands map, and Dynamic Campaign are all finished!
  10. Perfect, thank you LeCuvier! This is the document I was hoping for!
  11. Guys, is there a link to a basic tutorial for doing this? In BMS we have Alt Launcher to make it super-simple to assign a "Release" to a DX switch so, for instance, I have the Warthog Throttle top right switch set to UP for DX17 (CAT I) and DOWN (CAT III) to "DX17 Release". That's all I really need, the simplest way to have DCS recognize the "OFF" position for each switch that does not have a specific DX press assigned to it. I did see a reference to a Post# for this but I do not see post #'s on this forum (tried a couple browsers). Have Notepad ++, know where the files are (xx\OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\F16-C\Input\F-16C\joystick\default.lua), just a bit lost on proper procedure to get what I want on the Warthog Throttle switches that do not have a DX assignment for every position..
  12. Stick arrived today, set it up identically to my good ol CH Fighterstick with the added exception of having the 1st detent (Lase) of the trigger press actually being a separate entity to the 2nd detent (Fire Guns) and the Paddle switch being set as the "Paddle Switch" (whatever that does i'll have to learn). Very happy to report that it has 0 "stiction" issues and is perfectly smooth. I don't find the spring tension to be too strong either, and that's coming from a 0 tension CH. Have yet to test in flight but do not forsee any issues, very pleased so far and my new Deltasims SLEW mod is supposedly coming this week also..
  13. A little more than KB/Mouse stand but I modified the Next Level Racing stand to be that and a bit more, easily switch to holding my racing wheel..
  14. Not counting that option out and likely would have been smarter to buy the TM handle and Virpil base from the start, but as i've been using this "toyish" CH HOTAS for about 20 years I likely will be ok for a while as-is... certainly will go with Virpil at +€200 before I drop about €50 on a spring and sell the (upgraded) TM base as you did.
  15. Doing my due diligence on the Warthog Stick I have been looking at "Stiction Fix" videos and (for me) the best was done here . Assuming the worst when it arrives i've ordered a new PTFE O-ring (to replace the rubber piece that deteriorates quickly and causes issues) and grease from here to have on hand. Don't mind doing a little work to make it smooth as silk in operation if indeed it's not when new. If the spring tension is still too much a €41 Green spring here will be in my future but the descriptions in the stiction fix videos say the stock spring is fine once the mods are done..
  16. Thanks, i'll see how it goes with the standard setup for now. I will get the Virpil base rather than spend €41 + Shipping on a spring... I mean really, €41 for a spring??
  17. In the pictures they are identical, as I just ordered one I hope that's what arrives next week!
  18. I want the F-16 handle, and it "looks" like that is what comes with it as the "A-10" handle, just didn't want any surprises when it arrives! I see 0 difference between them? Pic on top is F-16 Handle, pic on bottom is standard Warthog "A-10" Joystick/base.. Just an FYI, you can buy the Warthog F-18 handle base together on the TM site, but thats out of stock there..
  19. Just priced out the Virpil base, going to cost almost as much for that (once you include the €60 for VAT and Shipping) than it will for the whole TM stick/base combo! Have to think about that one.. Edit: I see you can buy the base separately and get the "F-16" handle but the F-16 handle lookes exactly like the "A-10" handle that comes with it when you buy a standard Warthog stick... what am I missing?
  20. Thanks, I looked at Virpil and like the layout of the TM F-16 handle better, almost identical to the CH i've been using a loooong time. I know I can combine the TM Handle with Virpil base but will that really offer me much?
  21. I have the Warthog Throttle and after fixing what I felt were it's deficiencies (AB detent mod, Deltasim Slew mod, printed cover plates) I really like it. I'm considering the Warthog stick base with the F-16 grip, any input on that upgrade(?). My current CH Fighterstick has 12bit contactless sensors and works well, just curious if its worth upgrading.. if indeed its an upgrade.
  22. I use Capt. Zeen's Helios profiles and pick/choose what I want displayed so I would assume yes, other ways are possible also.
  23. Not 100% clear but if you are seeing the DCS screen as the background in the MFDs? Try this - "In the Helios Interface dialog called "DCS Monitor Setup", click on the "plane and helicopter" on each of the extra monitors to turn them from "blue" i.e. included in the view of the sky to not blue"
  24. Less than $20 vs. almost $400 for the Viper Gear ICP? Is the engraving that $$$?
