Have you tried looking at it in TARGET or see if the TM Calibration tool sees it? Are you using the MB USB ports?

To your points, do you really think Chinese intelligence/Armed forces don't have a (to the sq. ft. if not inch) detailed satellite map of all of South Korea already and they would jump on a DCS game map to train?? I would be happy with a limited map within the boundaries of DCS capability, if that meant forgoing Japan so be it. I've been flying over Korea in the "other" sim for +/- 23 years now. As for the final point, is BMS Falcon outlawed in South Korea?

Jagdflieger Campaign - no bullets?
GPatricks replied to GPatricks's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Yep, just bought that module also and played with it a bit but want to "master" the 109 before getting too involved, hence the confusion. OK, flipped the Safety cover, Armed the guns, Charged the cannons and all is well! One last question, what the heck is the command to move the "Propeller Pitch Rocker Switch (Drehzahl)" up and down to adj. manual pitch? Been through the command list a few times, see nothing.. Works with the mouse, but is a PITA.. Edit: NM, it's "Engine RPM Increase" and Engine RPM Decrease"... why not call it Manual Prop Pitch UP/DOWN!!! -
Jagdflieger Campaign - no bullets?
GPatricks replied to GPatricks's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Hmmm, I know the little flip cover you are talking about but again, In IA i'm 97.6443% sure it flips up when you squeeze the trigger. I'll check both things out shortly and add the flip up of the cover - "Guns Safety Lever (toggle)" to my start up procedure (post-TO).. Thanks again, i'll let you know! -
Jagdflieger Campaign - no bullets?
GPatricks replied to GPatricks's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Thx for the reply Tinman. I did turn the gun switch on but did not "charge" the cannon ("Charge MK 108(D)" in Options) and have it set to a button now. Thing is I have never charged the cannon but it's possible in Instant Action missions it may already be done for you.. but shouldn't at least the MGs fire with the switch by the ammo counters activated? I will try it again with the cannon charged and see what happens. As for triggers, on my stick I have a 2-stage trigger, first is set for MG, second for Cannons, and it works great. Which reminds me, where do you set the convergence for guns/cannons? Its more of a range thing for the nose cannon in a 109, but same idea. -
Went through the 1st mission, weapon armed, all CB's on, counters 2/3 full, pull the trigger - nada. As it was just sightseeing went to 2nd mission, same thing! Tried Auto-Start to see if I was missing something, hit arming switch on/off/on, nothing. What in the world am I missing? Went into Instant Free Flight, works perfectly..?

Additonal 2/3 positions switch LUA code.
GPatricks replied to Tarres's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
I agree 100%, but right now the reality is for the Warthog it's between modding LUA files and running a pre-made TARGET script, and i'll take the TARGET script! I only use it for the throttle and when I need a 32 button throttle (for BMS) I simply stop the script and it's back to normal. Works in IL-2 also... -
Additonal 2/3 positions switch LUA code.
GPatricks replied to Tarres's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Maybe i'm missing something but with TARGET you can have every switch position active, the script i'm using gives 120 DX buttons for switches and 8 Hat DX buttons.. I started messing with the LUA and between what a PITA it is and the fact that an update will overwrite it and possibly change things making your old one useless, nah.. now I just go into DCS Options and set the action up, easy peasy. -
One question, on the Warthog when you lift and pull back into Idle Cutoff/OFF position (used in F-16 and others) there is no DX press sent. When you pop OUT of Idle Cutoff it sends DX48/DX49. Is there a way to reverse that (or add) a DX assignment to those two switches when entering Idle Cutoff? With 0 TARGET knowledge I took a swing and tried adding the two lines (in red) to the script. Compiled fine but no joy in DCS.. MapKey(&Throttle, IDLELON, PULSE+DX48); MapKey(&Throttle, IDLERON, PULSE+DX49); MapKey(&Throttle, IDLELOFF, PULSE+DX50); MapKey(&Throttle, IDLEROFF, PULSE+DX51);

Just stumbled on this as I have been (as of yesterday) trying to learn how to modify the default.lua joystick file to give me an "OFF" position for the switches and this looks like a MUCH better method to make use of the Warthog switches. First question as I have 0 clue on using Target, can I just program the Warthog Throttle and leave my (soon to be Virpil WarBrd base) TM JStick and CH rudder pedals out of it? Just want full functionality out of all the toggle switches for DCS (BMS has a simple "Release" function that does it now but I can change that to use a DX press (I think it will see 32+ DX buttons in BMS?).. I have the Deltasims SLEW mod and mine indeed does have the DX1 button press unlike some earlier posts here so that won't be an issue. I want DCS HOTAS column assignments and BMS DeviceSorting to stay as it is if possible, no combined/new gear.. EDIT: Loaded up the script, compile successful, seems to work great so far though Windows just shows 32 DX Buttons for the device for some reason. Started programming it in DCS (is there a way to get to the Options without opening up the whole program, or maybe start in Windowed mode rather than Alt-Tab to get to the desktop?). I notice that the hats are now DX presses instead of POV, which is fine by me as I don't use them for views anyway.. In BMS (Alternative Launcher) the buttons above 32 are not seen, have to hash that out but I simply shut Target down before starting and BMS sees the throttle as it was and it works fine.. EDIT: Just checked and works perfectly in IL2 BoX too!

Sabres were sent to Korea in late 1950 to answer the threat presented by the arrival of Soviet-built MiG-15, so 1950-1952 sounds like a reasonable start!

Warthog Throttle - Get rid of Idle detent?
GPatricks replied to GPatricks's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
SOLVED! Just found the Warthog Throttle calibration software here. By ignoring the part which told me to set throttle to OFF (which means to lift the Idle Detent and go full back) and just leaving it at the Idle Detent stop, I now have full throttle from the Idle Stop to buried past AB! I have lost the "Idle Detent" capability (in BMS anyway) but really don't care as it's only used for Ramp starts and Alt-i works fine.. Just tested in DCS BF-109, IL2 and BMS.. all is A-OK! Edit for reference: Looking at the DX button screen in Win10 I see how DX 29 and 30 are in the ON state with the throttles out of the Idle position and OFF when you lift and pull the throttles Into the Idle Cutoff position, so I just set the release state (Idle detent) to Alt-i in BMS AL, seems to work fine! -

I'll double check, thanks.

Thx Frederf, the gear's calibration is spot-on, works perfectly from stop to stop (from below the Idle Detent and past AB detent. The issue is that the Idle detent "area" uses 20% of the overall throttle throw. and that area is being seen in DCS as the first part (20%) of the throttle. It "works" but when the throttle pops out of Idle its unrealistic and inaccurate. Ideally the throttle at the Idle stop would be 0% and messing with saturation I can get it to work how I envision in the Options window, but in the sim it's like I never changed anything! Yes, I saved the profile (BF-109K Real IIRC)....

Sahaj Green Spring makes the Thrustmaster Warthog perfect
GPatricks replied to arcuspilot's topic in Thrustmaster
I was on the fence to get the Green Spring but adding about €120 to what that was going to cost got me a Virpil WarBrd base. It arrives June 8th, and it was on back-order when I ordered it, but that was only back on May 24th so i'm quite pleased. They do not charge your card until they are ready to ship so that took away any "back-order" anxiety away. So lange_666, is there a document somewhere about changing the PID #? Think I found it here ? HOTAS Warthog Joystick VID - 0x044F PID - 0x0402 -

I posted this over in the BF-109K forum and Hardware before I knew this Forum existed. To sum up, I know the Idle detent is not removeable and would require a non-reversible mod to remove, not going there. What I want to accomplish is to convince the DCS software that the throttle throw starts at the Idle Detent and ends at the full forward position (post-AB detent, which I have already made a push-through). I have this "appearing" to work properly in the Options/Axis window using Saturation but in the cockpit it's not. Out of Idle detent immediately goes to 1500 RPM, if I lift and bottom it out it's at idle... which is not what the option screen shows me (it shows full throw and the ID does nothing. Help!

Posted in hardware also, but as the BF-109K is the plane i'm working on... For Jet sims the "Idle Detent" is great but the it's a bit of a PITA in the 109 during TO/Landing. I already have the "push-through" AB mod so that end is fine, is there a way to disable the Idle detent part of the throttle throw (or remove the detent in software or hardware) to make the whole range of travel smooth from the top of the Idle detent to full throw? I have messed with Deadzone and Saturation and on the Options/Controls page (see pic) I get exactly the movement I want (Idle detent does nothing, then it goes full bar with the remaining throttle throw). In the K's cockpit however the idle jumps to 1500 RPM and I have to use the Idle Detent area to lower it..
