  1. He must have had those in stock, he has been unresponsive to me about the CH pots after the initial reply...
  2. Not resolved, just took longer to start the 7 second and pause fun again. I'm done chasing this for now, I can fly BMS all day without issues, this is crazy... Edit - being a glutton for punishment I ran another missio with MSI AB running, GPU hit 85C as a max, stayed about 83C for 10 minutes, saw no stutters/pauses this time.. no idea why.

I'm going to DDU the drivers and reinstall, see if that helps!
  4. Yes, it is Internal, I'll most likely build a game box before I add that big Alienware GPU add-on brick..I will take a look at Afterburner and see what it tells me Thanks!
  5. OMG that is gorgeous.....
  6. Thanks Bignewy. I just posted this (below) in the "Game Performance" forum as being "Possibly Solved", hopefully it solves the CTD issue also.. I've been having issues with FR pauses since trying out DCS 2.5 on this machine with the new G-Sync monitor. I get 144 FPS (running at 144Hz) and then it drops to 0 for 1 second, then back to 144 for about 5, then back to 144, and on and on. Disabled wireless stuff and deleted drivers, deleted the two shader folders (mentioned somewhere here), dropped my graphics sliders way down, tried pre-load at minimum and maximum, then just upgraded from 16GB to 32GB RAM. Same results in my tried and true P51 Instant Action Ground attack mission, which surely is not demanding with two planes and about 10 BTRs.. Today I set my G-Sync back down to 60FPS, hopped in and played for 10 minutes with not one pause. I'll try it a few more times but *maybe* the problem was pushing out too high of a refresh rate with G-Sync? I hesitate to say "all is well" but thats the 1st time I saw 0 stutters.. Yesterday it paused and stayed paused for the 1st time, CTD (reported) and prompted me to try this today.. Fingers crossed, because it seems that many of the problems are on new high end machines and most/all are G-Sync or Free-Sync capable.. Edit: Flew P51, Sabre, Mig 15 all with 0 pauses. Got ballsy and set all graphics to High, Pre-load to max. Flew the P51 again, 0 pauses, 60 FPS steady! Guess i'll start to dig in now that I can actually play!

Edit: I think BitMaster nailed it (below), the GPU gets too hot after a short time playing and starts hiccuping.. Time to get the add-on GPU box and upgrade the video card, at least I can use it in a new system when i'm ready to build a watercooled monster..
  8. The game has been virtually unplayable due to FR stutter/pauses but yesterday it paused and then crashed, so maybe there is something in the crashlog to point me somewhere? :helpsmilie: dcs.log-20190726-201908.zip
  9. Yeah, starting out you need to decide cause once you start buying planes/terrains/modules whichever way you go thats the way your stuck with (unless you have a few wheelbarrows of cash laying around to buy two of everything!).. and look into VoiceAttack and Viacom Pro, cost about $20 all in and looks to be a great way to get things done while flying.. I have a hard time remembering the 20,000 KB commands.
  10. Also, check module prices on Steam vs. ED direct, some of them are substantially less $$ on the ED site and they are NOT Steam compatible. I like that Steam is easy to set up/buy modules and it auto-updates but consider costs as you can not use direct ED purchased modules in a Steam version of DCS (since 2017 I believe).. For me, as I didn't know about the "stop compatibility date cutoff" it's not a choice anymore.
  11. You're kidding, right?
  12. Upgrading memory in my Alienware 17 R4 to 32 GB, so offering these to someone that may have only 8GB. All I want is $50 including shipping.. if local to Valencia, ES 20 euro picked up..
  13. PM'd you Akrescue!
  14. NEW PRICE - Both are in excellent condition but I want the new Warthog so somethings gotta go! 100 euro + shipping for both.. (or best offer!) Thanks, PM if interested. Gary
  15. I was able to contact him via PM here (and also sent email where Eduardo indicated without reply). In my case he said he only had one CH Throttle pot so I enquired about a pre-paid order for all, waiting for a response. In the meantime I decided to sell my Fighterstick and Pro Throttle as they are trouble-free and I want the TM Warthog setup anyway.. I was just hedging for the future with the new pots..
  16. No longer FS, thanks! Gary Edit: Moved to FS Forum, thanks Svsmokey!
  17. Thanks, i'm easily misled.. My latest venture has been using HWiNFO64 to monitor CPU and GPU temps on this laptop. It looks like the CPU Cores 1,2,3 are Thermal throttling down and the CPU drops from 40x (100mz) to 32x. Funny thing is the FR in game never drops below 140+ while viewing.. Temps are a bit high though, almost 100C across all cores. Idle is at 53C. Edit: Killed the OC / lowered the GPU to 60Hz and all temps dropped substantially..
  18. Goa - He says it here, and if it works perfectly in another system it's highly unlikely to be the card at fault, but that's just my $.02... he does not say what the power unit is in the other system vs. his own though, and even the same power rated PS's of different makes are not equal! I would look to the MB or PS if it worked somewhere else..
  19. I would also say to check the module prices on Steam vs. ED direct, while Steam is more convenient in most cases (like auto updates) the cost can be higher (substantially) for some modules.. Grab the F-18 and go!
  20. That combined with the fact it isn't 100% repeatable makes it even harder, there is nothing exploding in my IA mission except me as a common freeze point is in a dive.. :D
  21. Yeah, I was truly looking forward to getting into DCS and bought quite a few planes/terrains but this ongoing stuttering/FPS problem (and for me that's in a small Instant Action mission!) is ridiculous. I go from 140+ FPS to 4, it's not acceptable for a modern sim on fairly high end equipment. Only thing I haven't tried (i've tried about 20 obscure "fix it" changes mentioned on this forum) is disabling G-Sync and highly doubt that will make a difference.. For now i'll stick to learning that "other F16 sim ver. 4.34" and come back when this is solved as I really want this to work!
  22. I don't get why you guys are on one core, to check I just took a pic of the processes during the P51 Instant Action Ground attack mission as I flew over AI while being fired on. Affinity is checked off on all cores.. Of course it doesn't matter with the test mission, 10-15FPS until paused..
  23. NV 431.36 on 1903, GSync @144hz and still getting stutters at times....
  24. I'm trying to learn the P51 after jumping into the Instant Action Ground attack mission and finding I can't launch rockets at all (funny that secondary JS button works fine in an F86) and needed the KB to bomb (my CH Fighterstick isn't set up correctly). The training on the tarmac goes well until setting up the trim and then it stops. No freeze, just sits there and doesn't move on to the next step. Is it something i'm not doing correctly?
  25. Wish I could say any of these "fixes" worked for me, but they don't. It seems to work ONCE on a fresh reboot but after that no joy...
