  1. To piggyback on Nalfeyn, check out some of the MOOSE tutorials by FlightControl on Youtube. I put it off for a long time because I assumed scripting MOOSE would be intimidating and time consuming. Well if you follow their videos and check out their example missions/scripts you'll find that they have already done everything for you. You can make all of their example scripts work in your mission by just editing a name here, or adding a specific unit in the ME there. But for the most part you can make a lot of really cool stuff happen by just cutting and pasting what they've already done. MOOSE has a script for "Random Air Traffic" (RAT) that is one of the quicker and easier ones to setup and get running to learn the LUA and Eclipse. That can flesh out your activity around the airfield or anywhere on the map really. Weather is a little different. I don't know anything about scripting it, too advanced for me. What you want to be looking for are dynamic weather profiles. Here's a collection I was able to Google:
  2. Bumping this for visibility. I'd rather this was a DCS wide option but I have more faith in Heatblur doing it sooner, or at all.
  3. Another happy customer. Barely fit in my Volair sim rig with much modification, but oh so worth it!
  4. Have an of the recent DCS updates broken this mod? I just installed for the first time and although the new callsigns show up in the ME, none of the custom audio is playing. Sound files appear to be in the correct location, but all I hear is "Two-One taxi to runway" instead of "Devil Two-One" Tried with multiple aircraft as well. I appreciate all the hard work, this is really a vital mod.
  5. I have been using the Jetseat KW-908 with 8 motors for a little over a year now, and just got a new Jetseat FSE. I really needed the center stick relief and set the original aside for my soon to be racing rig. As far as the equipment requirements for the transducers, that really depends. I'm using two Buttkicker amps. One for the Gamer on the pedals, and one driving both the miniLFE's on the flight controls. My speaker setup for the rig runs of the optical port so I'm running the two amps off the motherboard analog with a 3.5mm splitter. Where do you plan on placing the six LFE's on the rig? With the Jetseat you really only need to be concerned with the pedals for the most part, right? I think your best money is two miniLFE's and a 2 channel amp. Put both of them on the pedals and you'd be able to have left/right distinction. I'm pretty sure Andre's "SimShaker Sound Module" software supports stereo output. I need to fire my rig up to check. Do you plan on running SimVibe or SimShaker? I only have experience with the SimShaker side, but I use SimShaker Wheels, SimShaker for Aviators and the SimShaker Sound Module. What mobo output are your speakers going to use? Optical or analog?
  6. Yeah I'm already sitting on a jetseat. Putting more transducers on the seat would just dilute that. I wanted specific feedback on the flight controls. They otherwise they didn't vibrate at all.
  7. I don't really have great pics at the moment, I'll try to take better ones if you want. I added some spacers to my stick center mount to raise it. The transducer bolts on directly underneath on the left side using two of the spacer bolts. I am flying in a Volair sim rig so your mileage may vary.
  8. My rig right now is only for flight, but I have a Jetseat, a Buttkicker Gamer on the pedals and two Buttkicker miniLFE's. One on the stick and one on the throttle. First thing I suggest, get the Jetseat! I haven't used mine for racing yet, but it is amazing for flying. You will get more detailed feedback from that than just about anything else you can assemble for a reasonable price. Andre provides fantastic customer support and the software, whether it is for flying or racing, is very good. https://andres.shop/ "Chassis" mode is referring to the SimVibe software. I have no experience with it as my racing rig is not complete. Check out their setup guide to see the difference between chassis/extended. https://simxperience.com/Portals/0/Files/SimVibe/SimVibe%20Setup%20Guide.pdf I wouldn't bother with a regular LFE. The mini's will be more than adequate. It's the same transducer head as the BK Gamer.
  9. Okay, this isn't about weather or obstacles. I understand all of that. I want to start a mission at Nellis and takeoff 21L or 21R. Can I do that? I do not believe I can. That is what I was asking about.
  10. Yeah but you're missing the point. We won't have a physical way to stop/feel before afterburners depending on YOUR physical throttle design. As I said before, this has nothing to do with the real planes, just our real lives..
  11. Oh I never noticed it was based on winds, I'll play with that. Thanks for enlightening me!
  12. Yeah especially with the popularity of spaceflight sims. DCS needs to be better adaptable to different hardware. A good example is having multiple binding options for the same switch/knob depending on what kind of switch or button the user has. Heatblur knocked it out of the park with the Tomcat binding options. To only have one option, even if it is the "realistic" option, is kind of an unreasonable expectation of the customer. We can't all be expected to build a full 1:1 pit for each module, you know what I mean?
  13. First off, yes I know the bird doesn't have finger lifts. This is more a matter of compensating for throttle designs without a physical detent. I'm waiting on a Virpil throttle upgrade to my TMWH and I can't really think of a more elegant solution than what ED implemented with the Hornet. Also, I am aware that Virpil added a virtual finger-lift function to their software. That's great, but in my opinion that is kind of a band-aid fix compared to being able to select it in the Special tab for the F-14. Thanks for your hard work Heatblur
  14. I would really appreciate an option to choose which end of the runway client/AI start at when being placed at an airbase in the ME. Much like a cold/hot client, there could just be a dropdown next to it for 21R, 21L, 03R and 03L for Nellis as an example. Thanks!
  15. I'm with you RogueSqdn. I've got the Virpil throttle on the way, and I'd really appreciate having a simulated finger-lift option. But I'd prefer to do it through DCS rather than have to mess with my throttle outside of the sim. Just my two cents if anyone at ED is reading :)
  16. Not only was that awesome, but I also had no idea the Ka-50 had those munition dispensers you used at the end. What are those?
  17. Pro-tip: pour your drink of choice and watch on the TV in the recliner. This was super chill, thanks a ton. Very well done.
  18. Shouldn't that be a matter of turning down your "World" volume slider? Or turning up your "Cockpit" volume slider? The below are cut from the user manual: WORLD. The volume of audio sources outside of the cockpit.  IN COCKPIT. This slider controls the volume levels of audio sources inside your cockpit. Examples include switches and fans. Hope this answers your question :)
  19. Dude, it's free and it was undoubtedly a lot of work to begin with. It's also possible that Starway does OTHER things with the rest of their life. But that being said, you should be able to download "7zip" for free which will unzip .rar files and just about any other archive file. Including .miz files.
  20. Since the 2.5.4 update the Mission Editor resets the default \User\Saved Games\DCS\Missions folder every time you open it. I for one do not keep my missions there but rather in a shared/synced folder because I fly on a different machine than the one that I make make missions on. Given how often I open various missions in the process this brings my workflow to a halt. I understand that I can create symbolic links, etc. but I don't see any reason why this should have changed from the way it was. Thanks! EDIT: Please disregard. Seems to be working now.
  21. The viggen in particular has specific weapon loads for the AI, especially the anti-ship missiles. If you just added units to the group they probably have your non-ai loadout and cannot fire the missiles.
  22. One more happy customer! Just got mine and installed it today. It's a ridiculously simple install and I'm loving it.
  23. It is Open Beta now, should be in the Stable patch next week.
  24. For whatever it is worth, radio presets are preserved when you save and load a Static Template. I spent all weekend creating a unified comm matrix for all my theaters. Now I've saved all of the blue clients, ships, tankers, and AWACS as a static template to load first when making a new mission.
  25. She arrived! The RG Custom MK4 aka RenderG Love it. Metal box. Nice amount of heft. With just that tacky mat it doesn't wiggle when I push switches around. Switches are all toggle/hold and register the same button in each direction. The knobs are all pots with no detents, and the two smallest ones are rotary encoders with push. I never realized how much more immersive it is to have cockpit lighting/HUD brightness bound to an axis rather than an encoder or button. I highly recommend it. I'm not affiliated in any way, just very satisfied. He has a Facebook page but it just tells you to email him. I'm not sure if it is appropriate to post his email/FB so PM me and I will share it.
