  1. Is there any way to adjust key assignments whilst flying in game? It's a little annoying to have to exit - reload everytime you wish to change something. And theres a lot to change!
  2. yes but did he survive the pull up?
  3. Does anyone know if its possible to use the display of a laptop (for say the Abris) and the main desktop display for everything else?
  4. Is anyone able to do the same or similar for the X52 Pro?? I'm new to the joystick and the SST programming, so not sure how to do it myself. :(
  5. Ok so to fly the Ka50 as it would be in real life we trim a lot and leave the AP channels engaged. But I've seen posts saying you'd get hassle from your instructor if you keep removing heading hold. So, my question is how do they change heading with the ap heading channel engaged? I realise there are several methods, I just wanted to know the correct one. Currently, I have heading hold mapped to my joystick and I will disengage it, yaw/bank around to the new desired heading and then re-engage the heading channel.
  6. Done, not sure if its edited or not. http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~mackie/Options.lua
  7. ronht - Actually, I suspect the yaw stabilisation is damped as you say at higher speeds. Often powered controls (hydraulic) are damped at higher speeds to reduce the forces experienced by the control surfaces themselves. Full deflection of a Boeing 737 rudder in the cruise for example will literally destroy the fin/rudder combo and in turn the aircraft itself. (If you want to read more - google "737 rudder hardover") There are various ways of acheiving this but a common one is having the controls damped at higher speeds as dictated by the pitot/static system. It wouldn't surprise me if the Ka50 had a similiar system.
  8. Transponder code? Flight Number/callsign? When you fly a lot in different aircraft on different days it is easy to forget the flight number/callsign and pilots often put this number scribbled down somewhere and placed in a prominent position. (Still forget even then!)
  9. I see what you did there ;)
  10. Thank you again, I wish all game producers/publishers were as informative and genuine as DCS. It will probably cost less than the ink and paper anyway! Oh and hopefully it will be shiny too! I'm in, just get it out on the shelves! :)
  11. Also I dont have rudder pedals yet, and I also saw that some of the profiles listed in the other X52 thread dont use the main throttle as the collective, they use the little LH thumb slider. How do you guys have these two mapped? I was thinking that the thumb wheel near to the clutch may be a better bet for yaw (rudder). I've never liked twist grips for yaw as its normally too sensitive and you cant easily hold a constant setting. Clearly, collective is a different issue, and I would have thought it were better to use the main throttle for that. One further question, while I'm at it... Is there any way of removing the endstop throttle friction in the X52 throttle (the Afterburner and idle/thrust reverser detents)? I'm not sure I want them present on the collective.
  12. Ok I can now register, and have paid for the game $24.99 but again I'm having the same problem trying to find the download links. On the Files->Products section of the site (Russian version) It is still only giving me the option to buy a download copy with Protx. Again, I've already done that. When i completed the purchase with Protx, it forwarded me to the LockOn website file area...!! << Edit: Ok it seems it justs takes a good few minutes before it recognises the purchase. I now have the option to download and my serial key is listed!! Woot, look like I'll have some Helo fun before too long!>>
  13. Hey. I've just bought the X52 Pro (and trackir4) in preparation for the sim but I was wondering how to setup the X52 Pro. Is the general consensus to use the ingame assignments or the sst software? I've also read various threads about the .Dat and .Pr0 profile extensions being incompatible with various saitek software versions. The .Pr0 appears to be the latest format. However, what software versions are people using and are there any profiles out there that you would be willing to share to the community? (latest version of the *.Pr0 would be ideal!! :))
  14. Sounds good, thanks for the update. If only other companies were as informative as DCS.
  15. So, set me straight please, non russians are able (and permitted) to use the DCS.com website to buy and dl the russian version?? If so, I'm still unable to register at that website due to receiving a blank page after submitting my registration information. I get to the index.php page and thats as far as I get, blank, no security certificate warnings... nothing.
  16. I believe I've added the webiste exception, but I still get the blank index.php page after entering all my registration information. Any further help or suggestions would be welcome. Many thanks, V1R
  17. Its under the product section in the russian page. In fact if you follow the link to the product section using the English site, then click on Russian (top right) you will see the link to the Official Russian Download Version. I however can't proceed further than this because its not letting me register at http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com, which it appears is what you need to do to buy the file. Very frustrating, I believe its a security certificate issue, but I cannot find a way of fixing it either in Firefox or Internet Explorer. Can anyone offer any further guidance here please?
