  1. just checked... the wakes behind the ships are pretty junky at a distance for me too..
  2. i actually just watched your video... interestingly, i have noticed the same sort of effect on the cloud layer when density is set to 9... might just be something ED needs to work on... but i'll go chase down some ships and report back.. Also, if you really want to be able to crank up your MSAA or SSAA and maintain fps, go check out this mod https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=215373 basically drops your GPU load tremendously while not really sacrificing much.. allowing you to crank up the settings.
  3. try somethin like this with your res at 1080p and the SSAA at 1.5x or 2x.. then go up from there if you can..
  4. did you try SSAA instead of MSAA?
  5. well.... it is pretty sweet... Lol!!!!
  6. sounds interesting Floyd... any link to the thread?
  7. also... take a look at this thread https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=211549 might also check for any included intel turbo boost technologies that may be conflicting with your performance..
  8. Daemien... did you try running the game with the in game fullscreen checkbox unchecked rather than attempting to alt-enter between the two modes?... you have attempted soo many things...
  9. for those of you struggling with VR performance, give Kegetys VR shaders mod a try if you haven't yet.... its pretty damn sweet. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=215373
  10. should work just as well... in the readme txt., Kegetys states that when disabling the mod, to delete the fxo and metashader2 files.. so that is why i put it in that order.. as for re-enabling the mod, it is unnecessary to delete them,..... but probably a Really Good Idea anyways... i have done it both ways... both work... just do the cleanest job you can based on Kegetys instructions and you will have no problems..
  11. yeah... i understand that... and, i know its been thoroughly covered... been through all the posts.... wouldn't really expect there to be a performance gain,... unless users who's primary cores are reaching their threshold now had 50% more headroom to avoid stutters and lags.. it is possible in its current form to make this happen via switching affinity around or using process lasso to force affinity in a particular manner... i have done both and seen the results... and it works great!!... actually quite pleasing seeing the load spread out and having more than enough headroom for whatever the game throws at any cores direction...
  12. well... i prefer to only use what is needed.. my screen is 4k 60hz... so vsync limits the production of any unnecessary frames locking FPS at an absolute 60fps... not chasing frames that dont benefit me leaves all the headroom in the world for the GPU to handle whatever the game throws at it... Additionally, i am not using any MSAA at the moment... without it the game looks great in 4k with a few jaggies here and there and GPU averages around 63% load.. with MSAAx2 in 4k, there are almost no jaggies.. and GPU averages around 75-80%... but the reason i run it this way is because it leaves all the hardware headroom for the sim to run smoothly as it should... maxing out load on the gpu only means that it has no room to handle the next big instance of explosions, smoke, and damage models, ect.. that the sim wants to throw at it.. and when it does, the GPU is gonna stutter... so i basically try to mitigate that and run the system as efficiently as possible and never come close to 99% load... Also..., very relevant, I am running Kegetys VR performance shaders mod.... even though im not using VR.... it is outstanding.. about 15% drop in GPU load with this mod... definitely check it out if you haven't already!!.. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=215373
  13. Before you update: 1. You have to make sure you disable the mod completely so that DCS is in stock form 2. Delete all files in C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\ fxo and metashaders2 folders 3. Then update DCS 4. Run DCS in updated stock form to see that all is working 5. Re-apply the mod via OvGME or (Kegety's Instructions via Readme.txt) 6. Enjoy
  14. just saw this https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=202386
  15. What is the deciding factor by DCS that determines which core of your CPU it wants to beat the crap out of and why?.. For me, by default, DCS always wants to use core 15 as the primary core.. However, i am not a fan of this, so i always switch affinity around to spread the load among the other cores.. At times, with the default affinity, the primary core can become extremely saturated... and it seems with each update, it gets more and more saturated.. So... why are we not spreading the load by default?.. to give each core plenty of headroom.. Bad Utilization Good Utilization
  16. I have no idea what could be causing that... but would guess it is probably something to do with stored auto login data and a bug... but i really have no clue...
  17. did you remember to rename the C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\terrains\Caucasus\misc\metacache\dcs folder to dcs.old or something else... if not, your META2 files may be compiled within that folder rather than in the C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\metashaders2 folder.. however,... it has been stated that the mod will still work under these circumstances by @imacken
  18. just go get this mod by Kegetys... it is miraculous.. will likely be implemented by ED in the future. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=215373
  19. Agree.... but should also be available for non VR as well...
  20. nice!!!... glad you got it all put together allready!!
  21. well.. not sure... mine is working beautifully... in any case.. try it like this... 1. Remove all Mods from your current version of DCS so that it is in stock form. 2. Clear all files in the C:\Users\Username\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta fxo and metashaders2 folders. 3. Update DCS to latest version. 4. Run latest version to make sure all is working. 5. If you intend to install Mods via OvGME, be sure to delete any backups previously made by OvGME before you do. 6. At this point, you can install the mod via Kegetys (OP) original instructions or via the OvGME protocol.. 7. Enjoy ... also... it will take a while loading DCS and the first mission you fly for the first time after you install the mod... after that it is all fast!!
  22. it is where dcs stores some of its META2 and FX shader files for the game... can sometimes cause graphics conflicts.. deleting the contents of the folders results in DCS recompling shaders the next time you start... has resolved many graphics issues in the past... and is just good practice when changing settings often or when updating..
  23. thats exactly what happened to me the other day... undid the mod... updated DCS.... re enabled the mod,... but forgot to swap out the old backup... and the next time i disabled the mod, it wrote the old files to my new install... took me a sec to figure out what happened... but its all good now..
  24. haha... small wardrobe... so,... i setup the one i built with a front mount 280mm rad.. however, there are issues with doing so... most AIO's dont have quite long enough hoses to mount the Rad to the front of the chassis and the fans in the front panel area... Instead, you can mount your fans and Rad together on the inside of the front of the chassis.. here's a crappy pic of the one i built a few month's ago... its a push/pull front mount scatter it all setup in the 750D... all 140mm fans... flowed air like a silent swooshing tornado...
  25. Oh Man!!!... thats the big... and i mean BIG brother to the 400c... I built one up earlier this year for a client.. caught myself just gazing at it.. Lol..... beautiful case!!... make sure you get the Airflow Edition... nice choice!!
