  1. Proper procedure is to set the launch bar switch to retract once connected to the shuttle. Obviously the bar will not physically retract once connected.
  2. If you run a Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog I suggest the following. I bought this a while back and use it for various aircraft but I mostly fly the F18. It has really saved me A LOT of fuel by not running around in AB not knowing all the time. https://www.shapeways.com/product/3MJPNE2SV/warthog-throttle-part-afterburner-detent?optionId=63799442&li=marketplace
  3. I used to be able to land at Boulder. It was close and you had to be light but it was doable. After last patch I ran off the runway both times. Something changed.
  4. Only Right Side but I'm sure you could fab something to make it work. I would just make sure it did not hit the seat when you pulled full aft. PS: Send crawfish boudin.
  5. So I've had my chair for a few months now and I did not see much mentioned about RSEAT on the forums so I figured I'd share my experience. First off, no this rig is not cheap. If you are looking for cheap this is not for you. And honestly a rig this well built and sturdy is not needed for flight sim. The real reason I bought it was I want to also get into sim racing with force feedback controllers. (I have the computer so I might as well get some additional use out of it.) Some of the racing wheels have very heavy duty electric motors to simulate counter steering and high end brake and clutch pedals allow you to exert over 200 pounds of force on their pedals. I say this because prior to having this chair I just had my joystick / throttle sitting on top a desk and my pedals were just on the floor against a wall. However, with a force feedback wheel and heavy duty pedals they cannot be just placed on top a desk and sat on the floor, they have to be mounted. Further I wanted to minimize the about of flex any rig would have. So that when I depress the break pedal with say 2" of deflection all of that 2" goes into the pedal and not 1.5" into the pedal and 0.5" into flexing of a rig that it was mounted to. Now having said all of that the rig is EXTREMELY rigid. It is very well made and really probably over engineered but I'm OK with that! The model I bought is the RSEAT S1. This is their newest model and they took some of the best features from their N1 and RS1 models and combined those features into the S1 rig. I purchased all of the accessories for this rig minus the surround sound brackets. I use head phones that also have my Track Clip Pro for my TrackIR5 sensor mounted to them so I had no use for external speakers. I would say having access to the keyboard for DCS is a must so I got the keyboard / mouse tray. I opted for the button box mount for my Cougar MFD's and I might get a DSD button box as well to use with DCS as well as my future racing games. Not pictured is the TV stand which I have but I still have not bought a TV yet so I currently just mounted my monitor to the wheel deck. Once I get a wheel and some racing pedals I will obviously have to move the monitor and at that time it I will have to get a TV (baby steps). I ordered the S1 Flight Mount upgrade kit so I could mount my HOTAS. They mounted up perfectly and the rig and mount have plenty of different hole options so that you can place the controllers where they fit you best. I did have to get some screws and nuts to mount my throttle to the base but the holes lined up perfect. Not that big of a deal but would have been nice if they had bolts and nuts to mount them. They do include more bolts and washers than you will need to build the rig and mount all of the extras. Assembly takes some time but is not difficult at all. Pros: EXTREMELY well built You can adjust your HOTAS controls exactly where you want them. Looks good Cons: Price Rudder pedals have to be mounted far enough away from the bar that supports the wheel deck so that the opposing pedal does not hit the bar. Meaning when you push the right pedal the left pedal may come back and hit the bar if you mount them too close. Not a problem for a tall person but may be an issue for shorter people. The pedal deck as well as the seat do adjust front to back. This may not be an issue with other manufactures pedals. The seat could have a bit more lumbar support. It is slightly difficult to get into / out of with the throttle mounted on the left side. They do not currently offer a motion rig for this seat (they do for the other rigs they make) but perhaps they will come out with one being this one came out last year. Probably mute though for me because they are pricey. Overall: I really like it and would recommend it. It may not make you fly better but the controls are way more comfortable than they were sitting on top of the desk I was using and the immersion factor is great. They do have a few different websites and some of the pictures listed on some sites are not on others. Also the Europe site has more accessories than the US site list. (Buttkicker for example) http://www.rseat.net/ https://rseatamerica.com/ https://www.rseat-europe.com/ Below is the Flight Seat addition with the the bar for the Wheel Deck removed. Without that bar you cannot mount the keyboard / mouse tray or the button box / tablet holder.
  6. I have the OBOGS mapped to a switch on my HOTAS. Twice I've sustained damage and the screen started to go blurry. I quickly disabled the OBOGS switch and it got clear again. I was told the O2 system gets damaged and basically disabling it takes the mask off you face so your do not suffocate. It worked for me.
  7. A work around is once you rearm and select the missle to begin its 3 minute warmup, hit step 4 times to cycle through all the missles and they will all do the 3 min cool down instead of just the first one selected. There is no 3 minute countdown clock displayed on the DDI after the initial load out. I'm sure both issues are bugs that need to be corrected.
  8. I'm away and have not downloaded the update to OB on Wednesday but I'm curious if this bug was corrected in the update?
  9. Hit the refueler, that's what it's there for.
  10. Looks like Derek Spear Designs to me. Specifically the "P2 Sim Racing Controllers" model. He has all kinds of button boxes. http://derekspearedesigns.com/button-controllers.html
  11. Two nights ago I ran out of fuel completely but had enough altitude to make it back to a base. So engines out, completely dead jet. I tried the emergency landing gear extend by rotating the knob but the gear did not extend. I did a belly landing and made it on the ground. I requested repair and during that as I was waiting for repair I guess I died but I didn't see the jet on fire or anything and I was just sitting there. It was a bit strange. Anyway, not sure why the gear didn't come down. Perhaps WIP.
  12. I'm back home an apparently it clears when you jettison something, not just from going A/A then back A/G. Set Code. Jettison Fuel Tank Code reverts back to XXXX. I was taking a tank and I would punch them. I usually set my ground ordnance first then swap to A/A mode for the flight in, in case I find any hostiles, then back to A/G mode when near the AO. 14. While I understand alignment adds to the realism of the game, having to wait about 6 minutes in the A10 certainly does not add to the enjoyment. I can understand having to do the switch actuations correctly, but I hope we don't have to sit on our thumbs for 3 minutes waiting for a make believe alignment. As for my "favorite" engineer I'm really looking forward to TWS the most. It's almost impossible to take on 2 enemies at once without it.
  15. Edit: Track File Attached See Post 4. It's jettisoning not swapping modes that clears out the code. A clue that the code is cleared out is that CCIP in the HUD will have an X through "CCIP" on the right side of the HUD. So if you see that X through the acronym then don't drop because the bomb doesn't have a code to look for. I am 100% certain that the codes did initially take and they did show up below their respective stations before reverting back to XXXX. This was in the Persian Gulf map. Someone please try to replicate, and if you can, please post here to confirm that it was not just in that particular server that it happened. Thanks and Merry Christmas.
  16. Agree, it would be nice to select the option then be able to hold a key down so the pushed back as long as the key was depressed. But when you release it they would stop. That way you can control how far you get pushed back.
  17. I've experienced both of these exactly as described.
  18. In case you missed it. Looks like next Wednesday you'll get smoke. From Wags Mini Update thread. "Hi everyone! This week we plan to migrate the current Open Beta to the Release version. We've put this off for the past two weeks as we worked on some Hornet and other items. For next week's Open Beta, we plan (not promise): 1- GBU-10, 12, and 16 laser-guided bombs with off-board designation. 2- Bullseye (A/A Waypoint) and BRA indications. 3- Improved IR Maverick axis slew and other Maverick fixes/additions like improved ship attack, longer ship lock ranges, range indications when slaved, and others. 4- Fixed DUD cue. 5- New radar defaults based on SME feedback. 6- Fixed cockpit art like left DDI error. 7- JHMCS updates like look-up reticles. 8- Air show smoke. 9- Fixed ACM HUD mode indications. 10- L&S target heading on attack format. I'll have some Bulls/BRA and LGB videos coming by the weekend. In parallel, the team is hard at work on the HARM, datalink (SA page, MIDS, Link-16), FLIR rendering tech, and A/G rendering tech. All of this will be part of 2.5.4. Thanks!"
  19. Same here. It would be great if Launch Bar was added as a "Special for Joystick " OBOGS too please!
  20. Not everyone has the razor sharp powers and focus we derive from boudin, cracklins and meat pies we get at the gas station.
  21. The update today was for Open Beta. If you are running Stable I don't think you would have got it. The easiest way for me to force a check to see if there is an update is. Start>Eagle Dynamics>Update DCS World Open Beta
  22. It's just a paint job to look like an F16 paint job. It doesn't "transform" your jet into an F16 Viper. It's just for looks.
  23. If you don't have WinZip installed it will just DL a .rar file and there will be nothing to unzip. If you install WinZip the Zipped file will be downloaded then you can unzip it and all 6 folders will populate.
  24. Took me a bit to figure out where to put this file so figured I'd throw this up because it might assist someone else. I didn't have any other skins so an F-18 file in my Liveries didn't exist. You will need to manually add these file names if you don't have them then just drop nukemgood's file directly into the folder below and unzip it and you should be good to go. C:\Users\YourName\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Liveries\FA-18C_hornet
  25. We got it to work yesterday in MP. Make sure TACAN is on in the UFC. Had a buddy use 6X, I used 69X (they have to be 63 apart). Mare sure A/A is also on and TCN is boxed in the center DDI. Not sure if you have to box it but we did anyway. It will give a range in the HUD about 1 inch below where Altitude is displayed. There will not be any bearing as to where they are at as previously stated. Just a distance. So theoritacally say it says 1.0, they could be at any point on a sphere with a radius of 1 mile from your aircraft. You can use this for when you go line abreast to know how far apart you are.
